The new fire type Hihidaruma, the monkey thing, I bet it's ability will be the same as Taunt. It "Encourages" the enemy into using nothing but attacks, no status attacks. It's a great ability if I am right, but seeing it on an offensive Pokemon is somewhat of a letdown. I was hoping for an ability like it on something like Dusknoir or a new defensive Juggernaut w/ through the roof HP unlike most defensive Pokemon bent on setting up weather, etc.

Looking at the region, and seeing one of PokeBeach's rumors, I wonder if you start at the city and go straight to the desert. There is a rumor that the protagonist is an explorer who knows how to excavate ruins, so maybe the desert is the first place you go.....Unlikely, but thought it was worth a mention.....

If its ability does indeed do the same job as taunt I will be so happy at GF for making more useful Fire types!

Ya, but as I said, it would be nice on something like Dusknoir, or a new defensive Fire type, or even Torkoal, lol. That ability would be excellent for setting up weather and entry hazards.

Now that I think about it, he might make a great anti-lead.....If he gets the attacks to support the ability. If he gets some good support attacks, maybe even something like Nasty Plot or Bulk Up, people might use something like Pinsir just to Taunt it (something like it I mean, I know he doesn't learn Taunt). Wouldn't be surprised to see a new Pokemon w/ Mold Breaker, seeing someone new got Motor Drive.

So, to stray from the discussion regarding the newly released info:
What do you think will be the major addition to the metagame?

Gen II had held items, Gen III had abilities and 2vs2 and Gen IV had Physical/special split.

If he is a tank he will be my new lead.

PokeBeach said that 3v3 will be in the game. There has been 3v3 arcade games in Japan for a while, so I wouldn't be too surprised. The downside is: In the arcade 3v3, the 3 Pokemon you send out all share 1 HP bar.

If he is a tank he will be my new lead.
His round body makes me think he will be offensive w/ high HP, like Slaking but less overpowered (the only reason he is NU is his ability it's only bad stat is Sp Defense, but it learns Amnesia).

Tauros will have an evolution, he is coming back from the bottom of NU!
It was never that bad of a Pokemon, either way. It's evo will probably look really strange....which worries me....

3v3 sounds crazy in my eyes. Then again, doubles probably seemed crazy before R/S came out.
It hasn't been confirmed. They said they had a reliable source who even had proof they had in-tell on Nintendo. But a lot of this stuff hasn't. As I said, 3v3 has been in Japan for a while, which is why I wouldn't be surprised.

3v3 will be annoying to play, though. In doubles, EQ's base power drops to 75 if it hits more than 1 Pokemon. It will probably drop to 50 or even scarier, 40 in triples.....

3v3? Man, we haven't even had a proper 2v2 metagame since they came up with it. Also, that means we'll be able to link up with two friends and three-player co-op the Battle Tower, right?

EDIT: if Tauros evolves, I'd hope Miltank would too...

The main reason we don't have a solid doubles meta game is b/c Shoddy 2 never came out. I don't think one will come out, seeing it was due September of 2008.

I think I just found something scarier looking than a Tauros evo...

I don't mind evos for either, but they would probably look pretty odd.....especially if the Tauros evo has large, monstrous hands.....

i dont think they can be considered sprites anymore actually given that they can move now
What the heck does that mean?

If these weather items are held items, then expect field control to be the new mechanic.

OR LIGH(shot)

So what about the legendaries ability? Any speculation on what they do yet? I'm guessing that Zekrom's Terra Bolt allows electric attacks to hit ground types, as Terra means earth.

Maybe their own versions of Tinted Lens. Their STABs get doubled when you hit a Pokemon resistant or immune to them, making the enemy take neutral damage.

this would mean they get perfect neutral coverage with a single move, unless the abilities only work for the electric/fire attacks and not all STAB moves

We have possible confirmation that pokemon will follow you again like in HG/SS!!! I am very happy!!!

P.S. I bet the water guy's starter will be the best and then everyone will say "oh I always loved him" well let me say I love him before all that!
