I laughed at this, really hard.

Uh-oh,typo alert. Thanks for pointing that out.But yeah Jynx is a good example. And I really dunno about Brock.I say he's black, but some say he isn't because of his hair.he certainly doesn't look black in HGSS,but he does in FRLG.Race change anyone?lol, maybe he has a tan or something.

Hold on. I always though that if it was Day, wurmple became Silcoon, while Night it was Cascoon. Have I been wrong all these years?

You mean the Leafcutter or Fire Ant idea? That was pretty sweet.

Yeah. Make it a Bug/Ground at start, but to either Bug/Grass, Bug/Fire or Bug/Water as minimum.

That covers the main elemental types in some way and gives some new bug combos. Not sure if competitive, but solves the problem I found was there with Gen IV's beginning section.

I think we're really overdue for fire ant Bug/Fire. Too bad the way I see it in my mind doesn't make any sense with real fire ants. It would snap its jaws like a flint to spark fires, but real fire ants use their tails to sting, unlike EVERY OTHER ANT EVER... :( Ants also conveniently could have a way to get rid entry hazards-- something based around gathering a bunch of little things. Like, when it switches in, it gathers a layer of each entry hazard and removes them?

The only new combo there is Bug/Fire. >_> Surskit is Bug/Water, Paras(ect) is Bug/Grass, and Nincada is Bug/Ground. But I see what you mean, there definitely needs to be more of those type combos.

EDIT:

Essentially, yes.

It would likely be more a pun on its name. Honeypot Ants could be Bug/Water (a bulky defensive one?)

Yeah. We should really get access to at least one of all the primary types within the first and second routes. (that being Fire/Water/Grass/Lightning) I also feel we should get maybe 1 Poison and 1-2 Steel types, to fit in with Hiun City and Isshu's apparant 'feel'.

You realise Pokemon isn't supposed to make sense right? lol The ant could do anything.

Well, we all agree that Surskit and Nincada both can't play in OU, UU, or even NU. Seeing competitively relevant bugs of those types would be interesting.

Well, it's just in this specific case, what makes a fire ant distinctive is that it stings with its tail and not with its jaws, so it would just be an ant on fire as a pun of a fire ant instead of being an actual firey fire ant.

But then again, I guess the reference would still be in-your-face obvious.

What about something like a Fire Fly? I know they've nothing thing to do with fire but maybe Game Freak can invent something! lol @ Fire Ants!

Bug/Fire would get wrecked by Stealth Rock though. Of course the Fire Ant could have Mountaineer (from CAP) or Magic Guard or something.

Edited my post later, since I remembered I had thought of a workaround for a Bug/Fire's massive Stealth Rock weakness. Instead of Mountaineer (which really doesn't make sense IMO... Syclant is an ant, but I don't see how that makes it a "Mountaineer"...), it would have an ability that says that it gathers 1 layer of each entry hazard and removes them. Ants gather a bunch of little things so it makes sense, at least to me...

Ah, but I wonder if this new ability of mine would be too much for it?

Enraged: When [insert name] takes damage its ATTACK (Or special attack maybe) value increases. If hit by a Super Effective attack, its ATTACK increases again.

Fits with the theme about Ants being irritable. Fire Ants expecially. Assuming it survives a hit from stealth rock, it could be quite deadly. Maybe give this form high base HP and Defense/Special Defense, but low Attack/special attack. I'm guessing the abilitys for the ants could be turning around the battle with Stat messing under pressure from the opponent. (in opposition to the whole 'Bugs have reduced stats but evolve early' thing they mention in the games all the time. These evolve but can aggressively get increased stats)

Ah, but I wonder if this new ability of mine would be broken for it?

Holy shit, that is broken beyond belief. All you gotta do is put up Substitutes and sweep...

Unless its base Attack stat is like 40 to begin with.

yeah, this would have quite a low base attack. Ant Swarms start small and all, but build up to a frenzy soon. I would bar access to Substitutes for it though. Broken and not fitting anyway.

EDIT: Gah, I shouldn't be posting so much theorymon. We need new infos. I want to hear about confirmation if the Pokewalker is coming back (Please no new event courses! Poor Beldum...how I wanted thee) and what features DSI gets.

A GOOD bug is a good idea. (Though, I shouldn't really be saying that. I don't really know much about the bug type, as I really only use Rocks and Steels)

After the Jynx mess and the removal of Brock from the Orange Islands, it seemed it didnt go well.

Brock was removed from the Orange Islands arch because they thought it would be a problem in America, not Japan. The Jynx fiasco was started because America audiences don't know about what it was actually based on, so they assumed it was something they knew about.

I wouldn't mind a Corsola evo. I'm guessing it'd be one of the ones that requires a certain move (Likely Ancientpower or something)

It just screams that.

I could imagine it becoming a coral reef or something. Then it could maybe use things like Heal, Attack, and Defend Order by using whatever stuff that lives inside of it, since it's a coral reef... blah, I just think the Orders can spread around a lot more at least as gimmick moves, despite directly featuring bees in the attack animation...

There are a lot of random Pokemon that doesn't have (pre) evo's and in general are not that interesting. Such examples are: Farfetch'd, Dunsparce, Stantler, Corsola, Tropius, Carnivine, Pachirisu, etc. Which one of these should get an evolution? I personally nominate Dunsparce since it has the most potential IMO.

EDIT: @PKMN Trainer Manson: They could somehow change the animation in the 5th gen if they every distribute it to other species.
