why do people want blacks in power in pokemon? We already have a black president, what more can you ask? I say pokemon should remain all white people, blacks just dont fit in with pokemon

Well it's not just dinosaurs, remember, but I'm sure Gamefreak could make it work somehow. I never thought I'd see a fire-type chicken and pig, but alas here they are.

Yeah, I see your point. It just seems for some reason they take more care with the Fossils.

I wonder about Rock/Poison? some ancient toxic creature?
Rock/Bug for ancient monster scorpions
Rock/Water for Nessie.
Rock/Grass for the very early Fern plants.

Theres quite alot to use.

It doesn't really matter what colour the people are. (Unless its something REALLY fitting to a racial culture, like Flint. He'd have been great if he was black.)

The Zubat line, Tetacool line, Machop line, Geodude line, Abra line, Voltorb line, Magikarp line, Goldeen line, Staryu line, Pikachu line, and Psyduck line are the only ones that are in all of the regional Pokedexes (unless I missed one; Staryu isn't in the DP regional dex). Some Pokemon, like Heracross and many 3rd gen Pokemon, have been in all of them since they were introduced.

I knew I was forgetting someone: Zubat, Pikachu, and Goldeen!

But if we're counting the safari zone, doesn't that also give us the Rhyhorn and Doduo lines?

I lately tought of an AWESOME CONCEPT. A pokemon, in its baby state, whit nothing perticular, being shit if possible, but evolving while holding fossils.
It could then get stats similar to the fossil pokemon's.

For example, if holding the helix fossil, it would be like the same baby thing, just looking more mature and having a curved shell and having better stats in Def and Sp Atk.

With the Old Amber, it would grow stone wings and be better in the speed and physical offensive departement.

With the Root Fossil, It would have tentacles or something and would be a slow and defensively oriented pokemon.

etc.

Thoughts?

I dunno... I mean, it's a novel idea, but something about it just seems odd to me. I can't place it, but somehow, I don't see it working.

Although, Eevee and Castform are somewhat similar to that Theorymon (as a noun, not a verb), so I suppose it's feasible...

Speaking of fossils, why is it that every NPC in any generation that revives fossils has to have a foreign accent? I mean, excluding the Devon researcher in R/S/E, they've all used stilted language. Just found that odd.

Why can't a black person be a Pokemon Trainer? Because I recall a black Nurse Joy. With a huge ass Magikarp.

As a funny coincidence, since we're talking about fossils, I actually watched the Roark versus Byron episode recently for the first time. They spent the entire ep talking about fossils and who had a bigger proverbial ****** for them. I wonder what got Gamefreak into them so much that they became a series staple?

I also adopted the "I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE DEFENSE!", "I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE FOSSILS!" and "I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE [INSERT STEEL POKEMONS NAME]" as my new catchphrases.

I find that offensive,I am black. But anyways,we won't be seeeing many black people in Pokemon anytime soon.I mean, this is japan we're talking about, there are no blacks over there. So,it kinda makes sense that there won't be much in a Pokemon game.Hell,we've only got two,IIRC.Brock and Dahlia.

Roark and Byron are a really nice contrast, even in-game and their signature Pokemon. I think it's really interesting. Roark is the best Gym Leader ever though. I remember, a looooooooong time ago, someone actually explained the strategy Roark was programmed to use. Something like setting Stealth Rock and then phazing with Onix's Screech, but if you try to switch out normal or something, he would just Pursuit with Cranidos? Can someone refresh my memory?

I laughed at this, really hard.

Let's face it, GF is racist. The proof is in the kanto dex: Jynx.

If you really get down to it, pokemon are essentially the trainer's battling slaves in-game, (screw the anime) and then we have Jynx as one of those enslaveable pokemon. A black, female pokemon who is labeled "humanshape" in the pokedex and whose signature attack is called "Lovely Kiss".

Call me crazy, but if Lincoln or any of the abolitionists from his time saw this, they'd be pissed. I'm pissed just thinking about it.

Neither one was in the DP regional dex. All I did was find all of the first gen Pokemon that were in the 3rd and 4th gen regional dex lists that I got on Serebii.

lincoln didnt like blacks, its a fact. he only freed them because it was his war strategy. SO no, they would not be pissed

Politics don't mix with Pokemon, I suggest we move on to a new subject. I personally think Jynx is a unique and cool Pokemon. Besides, we have Mr. Mime, who is essentially the Ketchum's maid... it's all subjective opinion.

Calling GF racist >.> I say we move off this subject before a flamewar begins.

I could be wrong with my speculation here, but I THINK Brock was an experiment into making a black main character. Some say he isn't black, but remember this is Japan we are talking about. They were probably testing the waters first.

After the Jynx mess and the removal of Brock from the Orange Islands, it seemed it didnt go well.

Yeah, they are my favourite gym leaders. They meshed well, and I liked how their aces were the respective Fossil pokemon. I didnt expect them to base a quarter of the game pretty much on Fossils. Byron's personalty of roaring out frequently and his love of digging fossils mirrors how I see myself as a trainer in game frankly, haha.
