About Illuminate: I'd think it would increase your own accuracy. If there's more light, you can see and aim better.

And I really doubt that that sketch is real. The coloring is crazy, the background is sketchy (can't think of a better word lol), and the Pokemon are drawn really badly. I'm sure that not even a preliminary sketch would look like that.

Have they ever revealed/leaked Ken Sugimori art of a new Pokemon before Corocoro scans? I very doubt that's real.

Either way, how the hell does that thing support it's body weight with those two tiny skinny pointed feet?

i am sorry but if those are real(and the smugleaf evo a page ago) then i went from gen 5 lover to gen 5 hater.

serious. wtf is that shit? did gamefreak really went that low on us? they show us cool stuff like this mole and probopass long lost brother and then they want us to love that smugleaf on sterioids? for god sake, that is one pokemon that wont grow on me like the others.

i was thinking about picking smugleaf for my white run but after this i am just going to grab my AR and hack a riolu.

You know about Desukan and Gear and you're complaining about how bad those new pokemon look?

And all design sketches are in pencil no colour anyway

I just browsed at Serebii and the anime revealed the sihoulette of a new girl and guy trainer, and the sihoulette of the girl happens to match the girl in that beta sketch...meaning it's very likely to be real and therefore the grass starter evo is too.

However, that art of the grass starter evo is fan made, even if it is what it will pretty much look like.

i still watched the anime but brock being replaced and those evos are just killing all the love i had for pokemon.

on the other hand the game itself still look awesome, i am playing but i refuse to both watch the anime and use any of the starters if all of that is real.

edit:well sorry but i got the right to complain about stuff i dont like. if there is something bothering me about the new generation then i have all the right to complain. i will wait for the game to come out so that i form my final opinion but for now i dont like what i see.

Um, what the hell were you expecting? That's exactly how I pictured Tsutaja's evo to look like.

And you seriously "hate" the entire gen because of one Pokemon, ignoring the fact that there's still 100+ more to be revealed? -___-
 
actually its not just smugleaf evo, but the emo clown, replacement of brock in the anime(fuck gamefreak is not the one doing this, its still pokemon), also triple battles(like if doubles were not good enough).

to put it short i am hating for multiple reasons, i still think the games are going to be awesome but i really hate a lot from what i seen so far.

if that thing is real then they just killed one of the best internet memes.....
 
Obviously I'll play the games, but tbh Im not looking forward to it ._.

1. Isshu looks pretty hideous, I see no signs of traditional Pokemon Towns & Cities. The baddy team hasnt been revealed and the games are released in 2 months so I really hope corocoro reveals the bad team....

2. The Pokemon.... Desukan is hideous, the plasma grass fighting looking dude is freakish, the woman in the dress is monstrous, Gear is too monstrous for words, Pokabu is the saddest excuse of a fire starter in pokemon history, Mijimaru has a bloody shell embedded on its body, Mijimarus evo is looking horrendous, Winged Kuriboh next to Jessie in that image is horrid and dont get me started on Munna.

3. Triple Battles look messy but I know for a fact I'll get use to them.

I'm liking the camera angles though, and Zorua and Zoroark. I also like the two gyms revealed so far and the Rival. I can't help but compare this to Gen 3 because Gen 3 has absolutely LOADS of changes. Graphics, amount of pokemon, double battles, Dive, Battle Frontier, Legendary Storyline, no continuity from Gen 2 and a whole new set of characters. I think of Gen 5 as the next Gen 3 in terms of change, but this time it's looking like it's changing for the worse.
 
You guys are absolutely right about the lack of creativity. Smugleaf should have evolved into an octopus and the otter into a vulture. Lazy asses.

Fuck gamefreak. If that Tsutaja evo is real, I'm not playing BW. I'll just wait for the inevitable RS remake and get a Blaziken to roast that sad thing.

That Tsutaja evo is the first pokemon I don't like. AT ALL.

Oh come on. All stage 1 starters are dodgy. Don't dare say they are creative beyond the basic stage! What I am interested to see is how they have handled the final evo stage 2 for the starters.
 
Some of the new Pokemon do have very strange designs, but I'm just remembering when I first saw Hariyama and Gardevoir. And in DP, when I first saw Lickilicky, Magmortar, Froslass, Probopass, Tangrowth, etc. I don't think these are that bad.

If we got used to Hariyama, I'm sure we'll get used to these. It may take some time though.

I think the worst shock for me in a new generation was when I discovered that Chansey was evolving. This was back in the day when Chansey's special moves were stronger than the likes of Mew, Venusaur and Starmie. Blissey's special moves in GSC actually were weaker than Chansey's special moves in RBY, but I didn't know this would happen when I first saw Blissey, I presumed they would just get stronger.

I know what you mean, but here's how I see starters.

Basic: Cute, Epic, Reliable.
Stage 1: It grows on you. I don't know why but I love them when they get to lv30.... it's just such a kick-ass level.
Stage 2: Epic, tough, grows on you but sometimes overdone.

I never looked forward to having a Stage 1 starter but it becomes epic. I hated Grotle at first and thought Prinplup was weird, but they had the same Stage 1 effect on me.

Stage 1's are cool, this guy isn't.

err yea... but I like combusken, prinplup, monferno, charmeleon, wartortle, and most other stage 2 the least. still good though.
But hell yea, Grovyle is waaaaaaay cooler than Sceptile.
