Yeah, I know about that. I hope, they evolve, though. I think Swampert is so boring. Quagsire has so interesting abilities but subpar stats. Whishcash has a very interesting moves and a nice ability, but again, lacks the stats. Same goes for Gastrodon. I'd be so happy about a Quagsire or Whishcash evo. =)

Also: Yeah, Grass/Ground has awesome potential, but it needs to be fast. Thus, Torterra sucks, sadly...

Torterra has amazing sweeping ability with Rock Polish set, perhaps its most feared set in UU. It's not the fact that it's a bad pokemon, but it doesn't have the best stats to use them. Grass/Ground is also not the best typing, being 4x weak to ice, as well as bug, poison, fire, and fire. If there were to be a new Grass/Ground pokemon, it could make OU easily if it had around 80-90 base speed, access to Rock Polish, and a decent enough attack stat. So no, Torterra doesn't suck, it just doesn't have the right stats in the right places to be as effective as it could be.

no one can deny that high atack stat, and the defenses help him setup. its just that he could use less defense and more atack and speed, also a way to beat weezing....yeah he need psychic cut.

If all the Water/Ground types all had a third-stage evolution, they'd all have something different to flaunt. Whiscash has Dragon Dance (somehow, lol), Gastrodon has Sticky Hold and Recover, Quagsire has Water Absorb and Recover, etc. Their differences come out to more than that, but they'd stand out even more with extra evolutions. We'd still have Swampert for all our balanced-style needs.

Ugh, finally, someone who calls CAP like it is. Some of the designs are nice, but every one of them is ruined by absolutely absurd stats and movepools (and occasionally unique unbalanced moves and abilities too).
What do you expect from a community of Pokemon fans, something good? It was kinda expected to happened regardless who's doing it.

I really dislike everyone clamoring for Levitate on ANY new Pokemon that has Ground weak... there are far too many Pokemon with this ability already, not to mention actually Flying types.
19 Pokemon out of 497 doesn't seem like a lot.

when you take in consideration we got...how many abilitys...? 100? something like that? 19 pokemons with that single ability is actually quite a lot.

edit:true ultimario, i just think torterra could use a physical psychic move.

His main problem isn't his speed, he reaches 422 after a single Rock Polish. His main problem is the lack of a Fire or Ice attack to threaten other Grass-types, as well as floating steels (Skarmory and Bronzong). On top of that, he suffers like most other physical sweepers from Intimidate. This allows stuff like Gyarados and Salamence to switch in and survive Stone Edge, then OHKO with Fire Blast/Draco Meteor or Ice Fang, or switch out and lower its attack even further. A physical Hidden Power (not based on consuming berries; Natural Gift) would help with the former problem. Earthquake / Physical Fire or Ice / Stone Edge or Wood Hammer / Rock Polish would be decent, nothing OU material though.

Zen Headbutt is a possibility, but that just helps Torterra deal with one of the many threats that wall it. Leafeon and Tangrowth can still take its hits all day, so something along the lines of X-Scissor or Poison Jab could help in combating these threats as well. On a RP set though, you would only be able to use 1 of these moves, as the other 2 slots would need to be dedicated to his STAB attacks.

Sure, we all want strong new Pokemon, but I'm pretty sure I could exercise a bit of restraint...

Uh, actually, not including the Rotom formes, 28 Pokemon have Levitate. I believe it is THE most common ability, compared to only 25 with Swift Swim, and 21 with Pressure.
EDIT: Actually I was even one short, apparently it's 29 with Levitate :/ http://pokemondb.net/ability
And the main problem with Torterra is he's just a bit too weak after a RP to sweep, and doesn't have enough coverage.

the days we dream about torterra not being a starter and having mold breaker instead of overgrow. then he could go and run X-scissor(lol how he would use that anyway?) for leafeon and tangrowth while EQ ohko weezing.

How does Swampert counter Kyogre?
Standard Pert takes at least 109.9% from Water Spout in the rain.
A Swampert with 252HP/252 Sp.Def and +Sp.Def nature takes a minimum of 77.7% from Water Spout in the rain.

I'm sure he was thinking of Quagsire, since it absorbs water and is immune to Thunder, and can recover off Ice Beams.

Some restraint...maybe, but you most likely go overboard with something just like anyone else who tries to create Fakemon. To be fair on your part, most tend to design their Fakemon for show and don't even know it's possible for one to actually use them.

29 out of 497 Pokemon, that make up what 17.13% of all existing Pokemon in the world. A tiny piece of the Pokemon pie, but most of the OU and Uber Pokemon tend to carry this Levitate so I can see where you're coming from.

That's actually only 5.8%, I don't know where you got 17% from.

My math isn't perfect but something tells me that 29 out of 497 is far off from 17.13%. Its not even 10%...

EDIT: Ninjask'd.

Just a note, it's actually 5.8% (app. 1/17) of pokemon (note that these are not all FE pokemon) that have levitate, not 17%

Edit: I'm really effing slow... >_<

Oh and a theoretical ghost/steel poke would be already nerfed because steel and ghost are terrible stabs... well ghost isn't so much bad as it is weak... 80BP max for everything but giratina (who doesn't use shadow force outside of the VGC, as far as I know) is very meh

not only that but you forgot the gen 5 pokemons, we got more then 500 by now. sure they are not released yet but they are on the pokemon world.

edit:and i mean the ones corocoro show to us already, not the ones still to come.

Pokemon Sunday just finished airing in japan. Nothing new, but they did show some footage of battles, Black City, and White Forest.
