Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I did the whole move/turn on a tile with wild pokemon to advance the frame by 1. I guess I'll just try again and try not to get myself locked in an asylum while I'm at it. >_>

Haha, I had to do the Gastly twice when I did mine, XD. OH - sometimes, if you just move forward it advances by 2 (what I hear). The best thing is to just turn to advance it by 1.

Okay thanks guys. For some reason, I'm not even getting close to the Target Frame (I'm not even hitting the sister spreads yet). I'll try a few more times though.

Target frame should be 1 when you first boot in. Save less then two days before that date that you set so that the journal doesn't come up and you can properly verify your seed.

If you're not getting close to target frame, then make sure NPCs aren't causing it. There can't be anything else going wrong unless your frame is just so high that it becomes your error.

Verify you hit your delay with coinflip first though before you walk to get to your target. Journal flips can't be helped, XD.

Hi, Klutch. Check your dates and times. Whenever I can't get even a small sign of an adjacent, it's always a date and time problem, either with how I set the DS, or how I entered the dates on RNG Reporter. Also, if you happen to have chosen a date on the very last day of the month, get off it and choose a different day. For some reason, I can never hit an adjacent on the 31st of the month. RNG weirdness.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that.

I'm in a good spot to see if any NPCs have moved and so far in every trial they have NOT. I have a starting frame of 3 (even when you factor in the first page) and a target frame of 5 at the moment.

Yeah, I've chosen a date other than the end of the month and a time well after the hour. I'm sure all my dates and times are correct and I've synchronized my DS with my computer clock.

Too bad theres another 3 (i think) you cant see.

I know its one more thing to learn, but I strongly recommend you learn to use Pikatimer to time your RNG projects.

Well, it's a two stage timer that helps you narrow down your timing so you land on your delay. I have a small guide for it on my thread. It's a java package. You'll need to download it and make sure your Java software is set to open java packages on your computer.

Edit: I'm signing out. Good luck with your RNG and with Pikatimer.

Okay, thanks for your help!

After a million tries I finally hit a sister spread. The delay is 627, which is 2 over my set maximum delay of 625. I got a frame of 5, which is also my target frame however. I was 1 second earlier than my target time.
Edit: 2nd hit of sister spread. The delay is 631, which is 6 over my maximum delay of 625. I still got a frame of 5, but I was also 1 second earlier than my target time again.
Edit 2: Same thing as edit 1 -_-

The RNG advanced for every step in an area with wild pokemon.. so I walked in a cave, (100 steps), then I have calibrated the frame but it was different.. why?

If you go over 128 steps it advances the rng by the amount of Pokemon in your party. The amount of steps is stored when you save.

Walking 100steps in a cave advances your RNG by at least 100. You should journal flip and turn in a cave to get your desired target frame - this way it's safer and decreases your chance of messing up. I hear sometimes walking straight can advance your frame by 2.

Not sure what you mean by calibrating your frame after though, lol.

Example:
Say your target frame is 51
1) do the math: 51 - 2(cave) = 49
- note that turning once = +1frame so now 48frames to go. Journal flip 24times.
> Journal Flip 24 times to a page with caught/defeated
> coin flip to make sure you hit your delay - if not, restart the process
> If successful, turn in position to advance the frame by 1 to reach your target
> Sweet Scent

I wanted to advance the frame with the steps because my frame is very high (13.671), If I journal flip, I never finish...
However, now I save the game in front of Heatran, so the frame advance by 1 or 2?

I don't think you can encounter any pokemon in the location Heatran is, so that'd mean that walking/turning won't advance the frame like it would in a patch of grass. In that case, 128steps advances the frame by the number of pokemon in your party.

Here's a helpful advice someone gave me: Higher delays > high frames. So...you can use Wichu's RNG program to find a similar spread on a higher delay and use pikatimer instead of flipping journals that many time.

I'd rather the frames. >_> I screw up my delay so often that I have to repeat it. Longer delay = less times I can repeat it. :p Whuch in utrn equals more chance of me giving up. :p

Eh, not so much. Pikatimer corrects your messups pretty well in hitting your delays. And a frame of 1000 or more even is just crazy to do on a good chance that you miss your delay anyways, XD. That's 500journal flips down the drain.

And you might be thinking the time increase is that large. Usually with these normal catches, it's an increase of 4 or 5seconds, lol. Not that bad when your frame of 13000 has a good possibility of going down to 50, lol.

I mean, it's to each one's own really, but that's just me ^^

How do I to lower the frame so much? O_O
However, Wichu's program has found only this frame, with my spread..

i'm new here but have used your rng software for a while and can successfully breed shinies or iv spreads
however, i am struggling to even load the new 8.30 version.
it may be due to the .NET framework. please can you take me through installing the new software.

i also have another question. is the red gyarados created by method 1? as i didnt really get the manipulation guide while trying to discover my HG SiD

thank you for the great software to date
