Looking to try out this team. RMT!

I'm kinda new to the whole Pokemon scene and have been doing a lot of OU lately, but I wanted to try out some UU because it seems like there are so many Pokemon that I'm just not using. Edits in green.

Thought Process:

I started out with my FWG. I really like Torterra and once it gets a Rock Polish up, it's good for the sweep and it threatens a lot of other Pokemon in the UU bracket. I like it better than Venusaur because it can still take the Electric-moves (a lot better too) and still make due with Bulky Waters.

Milotic suits other members of my team like Toxicroak and Donphan. I'm going to use it as my wall. Simple enough, I guess.

I was going to use Arcanine over Entei, but after Entei's latest event build, I find it having better stats and equipped with the new Flare Blitz, I find him quite deadly.

Next I needed a lead Pokemon. Although he isn't used much as a lead, or so I get the impression (remember I new to UU), I like him there. He can setup my Stealth Rock and then I can either switch out if something tries to take him down and use him to sweep and spin late game.

Next, I use Tyranitar in OU and I love him. I tried to find an equivalent in UU and I found Aggron. He can come in, do work, and then if Donphan or Steelix come in, I can either switch into Milotic or my Donphan and take care of them.

To finish it, I needed a revenge killer and I feel like Toxicroak can do the job well. Also, he adds a utility to nullify Rain Dance teams, which seem like they plague UU.

I decided to swap out Toxicroak for a Manetric. I realized my team was very physical-oriented and I wanted to change that. I also found that Toxicroak really wasn't doing much revenge killing and I'm hoping that with Manetric's speed I can use him to mop stuff up.

Another change. I realized Donphan wasn't really doing a great job on Shoddy. He's good to come in on something, but I needed something to resist fighting as well as a good lead. So I decided with Uxie.

I swapped out Uxie with the advice of some responses for Registeel. I'm using him as a lead to set up Stealth Rock and then, late-game, as a SpD wall. I then have a glaring fighting weakness. That's where my Mismagius comes in. She provides the fighting-resist as well as being a great special sweeper.

Closer Look:

392.png

Torterra (M) @ Leftovers
252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rock Polish
- Earthquake
- Wood Hammer
- Rock Slide

Torterra's job is pretty straightforward. I switch him in on a counter, Rock Polish on the fear switch (or if they stay in), and then start sweeping. I go with Wood Hammer and Earthquake for the obvious STAB and then add the Rock Slide to go with a pretty scary moveset against common Pokemon in UU. I go for Rock Slide over Stone Edge because I like my hits hitting. As for his item, I tend to go for more survivability than added damage. I like my Pokemon to live longer because the way I see it, the longer it's alive the more damage it will do.

350.png

Milotic (F) @ Leftovers
248 HP/252 Def/8 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Recover
- Ice Beam

Once again, Milotic has a pretty standard purpose, walling attacks as well as countering Ground/Poison/Flying/Dragon Pokemon with the Ice Beam. Surf and Recover are straightforward, STAB and recovery. I go Hidden Power Grass to scare/surprise other bulky water types like Azumarill and Feraligtr. I'm considering going for Haze as it adds utility other common water types don't have, but right now I like Ice Beam because Milotic can come in on Pokemon that can make work of my Aggron's Ice Punch.

244.png

Entei @ Choice Band
252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Flare Blitz
- ExtremeSpeed
- Stone edge
- Iron Head

I haven't actually been able to try out this build on Shoddy because it doesn't have it yet, but I have been testing Entei as part of the team. I think he fits nicely and I've been using the "Crotei" set with Calm Mind, Flamethrower, Sleep Talk, and Rest. That set is pretty monstrous and I'm hoping this Entei set is. I've also played some matches with a Arcanine, which I heard Entei now is a better version of, and it went well. He can revenge kill with ExtremeSpeed. I do like Arcanine's Morning Sun as I like my Pokemon to be able to survive, but I'm hoping that this Entei works well. Stone Edge is for the Moltres switch, thinking it's safe.

379.png

Registeel @ Leftovers
252 HP / 100 Atk / 156 SpD
Careful nature (+SpD, -SpA)
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Earthquake
- Iron Head

Registeel serves as my lead. I opted to go for this one over the Curse set because I need a Pokemon who can get the Stealth Rock up. Thunder Wave is used for utility, as you probably guessed. Earthquake is a surprise move to catch someone off-guard if they try to switch in to a Pokemon that counters Registeel. Iron Head is STAB so he's not completely helpless. I'm going to be using him as a Special Wall in tandem with Milotic's bulkiness as a Defensive Wall.

306.png

Aggron (F) @ Choice Band
252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Head Smash
- Aqua Tail
- Low Kick
- Ice Punch

I really like Aggron because he reminds me of Tyranitar. I opt out for the Rock Polish set and just go for a Jolly/252 Spd like a Tyranitar. I want to try out a Scarf on Aggron, but Band is working fine right now. Head Smash is the main move here, STAB and crazy damage. Aqua Tail, Low Kick, and Ice Punch then are all type coverage making work of Pokemon trying to come in with the 4x Earthquake.

434.png

Mismagius (F) @ Leftovers
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Substitute / Taunt

I was going to keep Manectric around, but having Aggron and Registeel, my team had a bad fighting weakness. So I decided to add Mismagius as a special sweeper. Also, I want to utilize her Spe EVs and nature to use her as sort of a revenge killer. Nasty Plot is fairly obvious as to what I'm going to use it for. Shadow Ball is STAB, whereas Thunderbolt gives me electric-type coverage that my team was kind of lacking. Now I'm unsure about Substitute because I usually hardcore at doing it. I figure it might be better as I can keep it in if someone doesn't break it and use it with other Pokemon, but idk. I think Taunt might be better to just break stall teams, but the verdict is still out.

That's about all I have. Thanks for your time!

This is quite a solid team, It has some good synergy. However just note that Entei is better off with return over extremespeed if your running a scarf set as with 100 Base speed, it pretty much outspeeds everything already. Therefore it would be better for Entei with its new movepool to run a choice band set and find another decent revenge killer.

Psychic on Uxie is a bit of a waste as it would be doing pitiful damage from base 70 Spatk. I suggest you replace it with a support move like heal bell, reflect, light screen, trick+scarf etc. and changing the nature to impish if you want to get rid of it.

For Milotic, run a bit more Special defense EVs as you don't have any pokemon to take boosted special attacks e.g from an opposing charge beam manectric. Venusaur is a major threat to this team as Entei would been worn down (stealth rock) after repeated switch ins to leaf storm so more special defense pokes are required. Other than that, this team has lots of potential, gl.

Thanks Myrrh.

Would Extreme Speed be beneficial with a Choice Band? I'm not really an expert when it comes to the UU scene? What are some solid revenge killers?

Would a 200 HP/ 175 Def/ 133 SpD spread be good for the Milotic? I don't know what I could switch out to add a special wall. I wanted to put a Clefable in, but what would be a good substitute?

extremespeed on a choice band set would be a good idea since the extremespeed is priority and has 50% more power thanks to band.

A revenge killer that comes to mind would be dugtrio although i dislike using him because of how fragile he is. Pretty much any pokemon with good coverage and attack can be a revenge killer. My favorite pokemon to use as a revenge killer is hitmontop because of technician and its mass amount of priority moves. here's the set :

Leftovers Technician Adamant
Moveset EVs
~ Fake Out
~ Close Combat
~ Mach Punch
~ Bullet Punch / sucker punch
252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def

i choose leftovers over life orb to have hitmontop last much much longer than it would with life orb but if you want it only to be a revenge killer then you can use life orb for max amount of damage.

For a special wall i would recommend using the curse registeel set that's on smogon, maybe over aggron since you have another choice banded pokemon. here's the set :

Leftovers Careful
Moveset EVs 252 HP / 40 Atk / 216 SpD
~ Curse
~ Iron Head
~ Rest
~ Sleep Talk

An excellent pokemon, one of my favorites, this monster can come in on any non-fire special attacker such as alakazam. Registeel can switch in to almost any pokemon and set up a curse or 2 and use iron head for some massive damage. Also registeel and milotic are great partners and you can keep the moveset you have on milotic.

i hope i helped :]

I might try out Hitmontop. I guessing he's the Scizor of UU? Gotta love Scizor.

I really want to try to keep my Aggron in. Maybe a Registeel lead and taking out Uxie? Would a standard UU Tank setup work as a lead:

Registeel @ Leftovers
Careful
252 HP / 100 Atk / 156 SpD
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Earthquake
- Iron Head

I fear though that if I keep in Aggron, I leave myself really vulnerable to Fighting Pokemon, as Aggron takes 4x and Registeel would take 2x.

So I think I might take out Manectric for Mismagius and use a Nasty Plot set:

Mismagius @ Leftovers
Timid
4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Substitute

Would swapping those Pokemon weaken my team?

I really don't see the point in leading with this Torterra set.
The most common leads can set up their entry hazard as you Rock Polish and immediatly switch to a counter. [Nowadays every player (except for noobs) carries at LEAST one RP Torterra counter as it's a very common poke.]. Is much better to play this Torterra set as a late game sweeper when it's common counters have been weakened or KOed. For this reason I suggest you to change the set to a Choice Scarf one (look here for more details: http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue9/featured_rmt_uu ) which not only can set up SR (leaving a free move slot on Registeel) and deal with the most common leads but can also come later in the game and revenge kill everything including + Speed base 105s.
I hope I've helped,
Good luck.

Oh no. I lead with Registeel. Torterra is just mentioned first.

hmm i think keeping aggron would be alright but be careful or DDgatrs because your milotic is the only thing that stands in its way from sweeping and if your milotic is weakened, you're almost completely screwed. To fix that i suggest giving milotic haze over either HP grass or ice beam. I think haze over ice beam because ice beam is really only used for grass pokemon such as venusaur which outruns this set and OHKOs it with leaf storm. Also just to point out the only reason i like that registeel set is because of it's paraflinch capabilities, otherwise i would never use it. lol

Registeel doesn't perform well against any common lead except for Ambipom (which can Taunt you and U-Turn/Switch out of there) and Offensive Spiritomb (which isn't so common anyway), it gets shut down by Taunt and Trick, can't touch other leads, and is set up fodder for the ever common weather based teams and Spikers such as Cloyster and Omastar.

Bump for more opinions.

What would be a good replacement for Registeel as a lead? Or should I go Curse Registeel and take out my (beloved ='[ ) Aggron.

I've been playing this on Shoddy (but with an Arcanine over an Entei since you can't use Crown Entei on Shoddy) and it does fairly well. I do see a problem with Registeel as a lead. He doesn't really hit anything reliably and I'm almost always forced to switch out.

I think what would be a great addition to this team is spikes. as many of your teams pokemon (two CBers, Missy, Milotic) often cause the opponent to switch spikes would help rack up damage incredibly quickly =). I suggest using a Qwilfish lead by taking your Torterra out, you have better late gamers like Missy who destroy most teams who can not check it. I find that Missy also does better with HP Fighting instead of Thunderbolt, sure you lose SE coverage but you gain Perfect coverage instead, and always use Sub it is far superior to Taunt. GL with the team and i hope you can take take some of my advice =)
