Golden Storm - My first OU RMT

INTRO
I've been commpetitively battling for a few months now. I decided to use a weather team after some thought. I've won many battles with this team but I have also lost a few. I really want to improve my team. So guys, what do you say? Rate my team!

Hippowdon.png

Hippowdon(M)@Leftovers
Ability: Sandstream
EVs: 252hp/152def/104spD
Impish Nature
Stealth Rock
Slack Off
Earthquake
Ice Fang

This is my lead pokemon. It starts up the sandstorm. It is bulky and very reliable in setting up the rocks. I can easily use this later on in the game as an effective physical wall.
heatran.png

Heatran(M)@Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
Evs: 252spA/252spe/4spD
Naive Nature
Fire Blast
Earthpower
Hidden Power Grass
Substitute

This is my special sweeper. It can come in on so many different types of attacks thanks to its great typing. Flash fire helps a lot too as without it not only would Heatran not be imune to fire and receive a 1.5x fire boost but it would take neutral damage from fire attacks. Since I have Scizor and Celebi I should be recieving the fire boost a lot. It packs great synergy with scizor and celebi. I chose fireblast over flamethrower for power.
tyranitar.png

Tyranitar(M)@Babiri Berry
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252atk/252spe/4hp
Jolly Nature
Stone Edge
Crunch
Fire Punch
Dragon Dance

Tyranitar is a pretty sturdy sweeper and so thats why i chose him. I wanted as much speed possible on Tyranitar as thats its only down stat as a sweeper. I have dragon dance to boost its poor speed and high attack to higher levels. After 1 drangon dance i can outrun Starmies and KO with a STAB super effective Crunch. I have a Babiri Berry so I can d-dance upon a switch and survive a bullet punch from scizor and KO bak with Fire Punch. Stone Edge is a strong STAB attack to KO Gyrados and Dragonite.
flygon.png

Flygon(M)@Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252atk/252spe/4spD
Jolly Nature
Earthquake
Outrage
U-turn
Thunder Punch

Flygon is a great pokemon for scouting thanks to choice scarf and U-turn. Earthquake is a good STAB with good coverage. Outrage is there for a powerful STAB attack. Fireblast for taking down Skarmory and Bronzong. Flygon has good synergy with my thanks to its typing and ability. It can take ground attacks aimed at Heatran and Tyranitar, Fire attacks aimed at celebi and especially Scizor.
scizor.jpg

Scizor(F)@Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248hp/252atk/8spe
Adamant Nature
Bullet Punch
U-turn
Superpower
Pursuit

Scizor is just AWESOME! A powerful priority move and great typing and a great attack stat. With U-turn it is a great scouting partner for Flygon as Flygon resists fire attacks aimed at Scizor and Scizor resists ice and dragon attacks aimed at Flygon. Superpower is for steels and wherever it deals 2x damage and pursuit is for ghost/psychic types who try to flee. Sometimes I consider running Life orb over choice band as i have freedom of moves but the recoil and less power is an upset.
Celebi.jpg

Celebi@Choice Scarf
Ability:Natural Cure
EVs:252spA/252spe/4hp
Timid Nature
Leaf Storm
Hidden Power Ice
Earth Power
Trick

My needed something to deal with water types including Starmie so I decided to run a choice scarf Celebi. I'll be able to outspeed and OHKO Starmie with Leaf Storm. Hidden Power ice allows me to KO Flygon and revenge kill Dragonite along with weakened pokemon that take super effective damage from HP ice. Earth power is there to revenge kill many pokemon most notably Choice scarf Heatrans and Infernapes. Trick is there to cripple annoying stallers especially Blissey and Skarmory or a pokemon trying to setup on me.

Please rate my team! Thank you!

Right off the bat I see you have 3 Scarfers. Scarfed pokemon are mainly used for revenge killing, and Scizor is also used for the same purpose, so I'm going to recommend changing them.

I'd recommend keeping Flygon Scarfed, but Adamant Nautre > Jolly. Also Fire punch over Fire Blast, as the possibility of a miss is something you don't want to deal with.

Rather than a Scarf Heatran, I'd recommend Life Orb. Your team lacks a definetive special sweeper, and LO Heatran can do that job!

Nature: Timid Item: Life Orb
-Fire Blast
-Hidden Power (Grass)
-Earth Power
-Substitute/ Taunt
4 HP/ 252 Sp. Atk/ 252 Speed

I don't recommend Exploding, as you have plenty of methods of dealing with Blissey. HP Grass as Swampert seems to be a bigger threat than Gyara. Substitute is what I would recommend to either sell the Sub Set and trick your opponent or just because Heatran causes so many switches (Especially into other Heatran).

Now, without Celebi, you lack a Water resist. 2 Pokes come to mind, one is Empoleon. Being a Steel type means he also is unaffected by Sandstorm (Although it doesn't make all that much.). the other is Vaporeon, since it is so bulky and has a reliable way to heal your team, but most important is IMMUNE to Water.

The Empoleon set is as follows:

Nature: Calm Item: Leftovers
-Surf
-Grass Knot
-Ice Beam
-Yawn/ Knock Off/ Roar
252 HP/ 160 Def/ 96 Sp. Def

This gives you a good way of taking Water attacks aimed at the rest of the team. The last move is up to you, in order of recommendation.

The infamous Vaporeon is:

Nature: Bold Item: Leftovers
-Wish
-Protect
-Surf
-Toxic/ Ice Beam
188 HP/ 252 Def/ 68 Sp. Def

This set allows you to heal up Vaporeon and most of the rest of the team, and even without being Sandstorm imuune, Leftovers nullify its damage. Hidden Power Electric isn't really as useful as Toxic or Ice Beam, and again the 4 Moves are listed in order of recommend.

Hope I helped, Good Luck with the team.

Thanks for the rate + advice Nozizaki! The Life orb Heatran would indeed be a great thing to add to my team in place of choice scarf Heatran. But I'm not too sure for the Vaporeon or Empoleon as they won't be able to handle Starmie unless i give Vaporeon HP electric instead of toxic/ice beam. Plus my team does tend to often struggle with Gyarados.

Really? Then HP Electric might be a good idea.

Hello,

This team seems to be an interesting mix of playstyles. My initial reaction at the Hippowdon lead was that this was a stall team, but it seems to be generally offensive in nature. I'll go through and point out any suggestions I think would be helpful.

Notable Threats

  • LO Starmie
Starmie is one of the biggest threats to this team, as it is able to single-handedly 2HKO its way through any of your team members. Although it is difficult to play around, your best option as is would probably be to switch to Vaporeon to take a Hydro Pump / Ice Beam, then go to Flygon on the Thunderbolt and U-Turn it for some damage.

  • Offensive Suicune
Suicune has the same coverage as Starmie, but is actually the bigger threat in this case. This is due to its large amount of bulk and ability to boost its stats with Calm Mind. Suicune is bulky enough to set up on Vaporeon, even with HP Electric, and can sweep through your team unhindered with little to no residual damage.

Suggestions

  • Tweak Heatran's set
Your team currently fares quite well against offensively-minded opponents, but struggles against stall. One way to fix this issue a bit would be to use Life Orb Taunt Heatran over your current set. I feel that this change would be quite beneficial to you, and the use of Substitute and Life Orb together isn't good for Heatran's survivability. Here is the set below:

Heatran @ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid nature (+Spe, -Atk)
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power Grass
- Taunt

The main advantage of this set lies in Taunt, which is just a great move overall to use against stall teams. Common switch-ins to Heatran such as Blissey will be shut down by Taunt, leaving you free to set up Tyranitar.

  • Use Roar on Vaporeon
To prevent Suicune from setting up on you, I would recommend using Roar over Hidden Power Electric on Vaporeon. This also helps you phaze away Kingdra, who takes little from Vaporeon's attacks as well.

Since you're using Heatran on your team, I feel that Fire Blast on Flygon is relatively unnecessary. If opposing Gyarados users are brave enough to stay in and Taunt Vaporeon, taking Gyarados out could be a problem. Therefore, Thunderpunch is an option worthy of consideration on Flygon's moveset to help you revenge kill Gyara.

Good luck with your team!

I would need HP Electric to take care of stuff like gyrados and other waters so how about i delete protect on Vaporeon OR I try an Offensive Suicune:

Suicune@Leftovers
EVs: 252spe/252spA/4hp
Timid Nature
Roar
Hidden Power Electric
Surf
Ice Beam

In place of where Calm mind would normally be I could use Roar instead. Surf for STAB, Ice beam for coverage and HP electric for Water Types.

But if i run adamant i can be flinched do death from Jirachi. If i run jolly i have a speed tie and if i win i can hit it hard with EQ.

You will 9/10 times break through it, and KO. The power is notable, especially when revenging with Outrage.

Hey I got your message! The main weaknesses I see are to Sd Ape w/ Mach Punch, who bowls through your whole team when Flygon is in Mach punch Ko range, LO Shaymin, who severely dents your whole team, especially if it has HP Fire and/or Earth Power, and any water type that gets around Vaporeon, such as Starmie or Suicune. God forbid if all three of these are on a team, which is somewhat likely considering they form a pretty potent offensive f/w/g core. I'd also worry a good deal about Machamp leads, they can really lay down the hurt. So I have some change ideas.

Why not run a Specs Heatran lead over your current Hippowdon? Hippowdon is pretty filler on this team if you ask me, and laying down sandstorm isn't that hugely necessary when you have Tyranitar. Lead Heatran hurts basically everybody and, more importantly, kills Machamp for you.

With Heatran in the lead position, hopefully carrying the team's stealth rock at this point, you can run Scarf Rotom-w instead of Hippowdon, who checks most of the above threats pretty effectively.

Now, of course, Flygon is your previous scarfer already, but to my understanding you have a pretty big stall problem anyway- SkarmBliss alone walls the whole team, nevermind the very potent weakness to spikes this team has and the other four members. So try a LO Mixed Flygon instead, excellent stall breaker and pretty under-rated if you ask me.

Sorry for all the changes, but I think they'll be useful. Good luck with the team.

I should go back to my choice scarf Celebi set it handles waters and can kill infernape with earth power and take shaymin with HP ice along with cripple stallers with trick scarf:

Celebi@Choice Scarf
EVs: 252spe/252spA/4hp
Timid Nature
Leaf Storm
Hiddinpower Ice
Earth Power
Trick

Trick is there to cripple a staller.

You might as well use a Scarfed Shaymin over Celebi, thanks to Seed Flare.

Shaymin @ Scarf
Timid 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
- Seed Flare
- HP Ice
- Earth Power
- Air Slash

Sure, you miss out on Trick, but you'll have access to a fast Seed Flare, as well as Air Slash hax if you're desperate.
