Amoonguss

Gotta love his stupid sprite and dex entry, it has a pokeball cap and arms. Its dex entry: "It displays its pokeball hat in order to lure in prey, but there aren't many pokemon that fall for it."

I think a set like this might work:
Morobareru @ leftovers
Bold nature (-Atk,+Def)
252 HP, 128 Def, 128 SpA
Regeneration

Spore
Stun Spore
Toxic
Giga Drain/Venom Shock/Synthesis/Clear Smog

This way, if a pokemon needs to be statused, status it! (No burning, though.) After all, with the given investment, its defenses become 432/228/228, which is very bulky with Regeneration allowing it to switch in, and out and in and out... A drought team with Ninetales seems like it would work well, or a trick room team. Obviously, it seems Synthesis would work best, and Ninetales (or another fire type) can burn stuff if necessary. Or it becomes "fast" in a trick room team.

I loled. Man this thing fails at life in general doesn't it?

What kind of adaptation is that? Won't Pokemon avoid Pokeballs anyway? Why the hell is this thing able to survive? Especially with those shitty stats. I want Trollfreak to make a Sporer that isn't 4x weak to one of the common attacking types, only has a 130 base attack and low BST, and has crappy stats all around.
I guess that means Breloom still has a job, Smeargle can still hang out with the big boys even with his shitty stats, and Parasect finally outclasses something. Those 3 are sure going to have fun this generation.

It implies some pokemon fall for it, just not many. Though it seems that strategy would soon go extinct as parent pokemon tell their children not to go near anything that looks like a pink/tan or purple/tan (shiny) pokeball.

Even with Regeneration, the number of things that can OHKO or 2HKO him with those defenses is pretty high. Grass/Poison may be decent on Venusaur, but not for a slow tank...not at all. Also, Clear Smog would be so much more amazing if I knew a setup booster that didn't end up going first and killing him anyway. He's NU for sure, but I know some people will try to use him just to annoy other players.

Post 1000, watch out now!

It's ugly as hell but it's not all that bad actually. Grass/Poison is actually really nice defensively and it's got the stats and moves to do it. And clear smog is a very awesome move for a defensive poke, and I have no idea why no one has mentioned it yet.

Personally, I have never felt Haze to be really that good, except on select pokes. IMO those slots could be better occupied by other moves.... Plus if steel types (doryuuzu...) have immunity to it then WTF is the point?

Otherwise, as I asked before, why does everybody hate this guy so much?

Because he's the trolliest troll pokemon of all time. Beating Spinda and Flareon by 11 Troll points. This thing iconically represents GameFreak and all it's trolliness. For example, say Gamefreak wants to make an Event Pokemon, we'll use eruption Heatran; this can be represented as a pokeball in a forest in-game. All hyped up, you go straight for it, only to find out that you got rick rolled by this troll mushroom. (Event Heatran only had Brave as his nature)

That's why.

Actually, event Heatran had a Quiet nature. Still bad with eruption, I know, but not as horribly trollish as a brave nature.

And Morobareru fulfills the exact same purposes as Voltorb/Electrode really. Except it's actually a pretty good Pokemon. With 114 base HP, good defensive typing, several ways of restoring HP (Giga Drain, Regeneration, Synthesis, + lefties/black sludge...), it's not going to die very quickly. It also has a great supporting movepool that includes the best status move in the game. (Not really sure why I'm defending this Pokemon actually, I hate it's design.)

Oh, and Spinda/Flareon are much more trolly than this guy imo. God I hate Spinda...

Everybody hates Spinda...

This pokémon has potential for sure. No, he's not bright, and he will be UU or below, but he has purposes in life. One similar pokémon is Vileplume, and in the annoying sets this one is better.

Ah, I knew it was a -Speed nature, I just didn't know which one. Now that I think about it, Spinda got Perversity with not one move to abuse it. I guess Spinda still wins.

I like Spinda...better then that fat basturd tyranitar anyways...:/

Now it joins Voltorb and Electrode for looking like an item ball, and annoying you by challenging you when you just thought you were picking up an item. Well, it could do that, and I don't know if that occurs ingame.
Apparently the pokeballs at his side are shields. This is getting more and more stupid.

With 432/228/228 defenses, it survives Max SpA (no +SpA nature and a Scarf) Heatran's Flamethrower, (1 in 16 chance not to if shroom was hit by floating rocks) as well as possibly surviving its Fire Blast (37.5% chance). I would say it's bulky.

Gratz! I hope I can get that many. =P

Yeah, he's slow, but like I said in my other post "with some decent paralysis support..." he could still be a good phazer. I wouldn't go so far to say he's NU because he's got a lot of neat options. True steels would be able to get the jump on him, but I can't think of a single one at the top of my head that was in UU this past generation.

Foreveryone ripping on parasect i have a video of him in my youtube channel sweeping a sunny day team...with his dry skin abillity. Parasect is forgotten because of his 5 times weakness to fire but i mean honestly itd be hard for him to live a 4 times weakness to fire and on a plus side he gained a water immunity for it. Then eq wont even touch him and imo parasect is the best physic type counter made so far with acces to x-scizzor and pursuit they have to make a hard choice on whether or not to attack or run.

On a second note this guy is awful. Parasects biggest flaw is his god awful speed, and this guy tied it hahaha. His defenses aren't good enough to make stall, his typing is eh but roserade, venusaur, victreebell will all handle the typing better, all he has for support really is spore, while his physical movepool is just hideous.

Speed issue- parasect dominates on trick room/ this guy would be faster but just as bad
Typing issue- Victrebell, Venusaur, and Roserade will always be better then him and probably giving vileplume a run for its money
Movepool issue- The other 2 spore users (breloom and parasect) actually have incredible move pools.

So unfortuneatly this guy will remain a gimmick imo. Nothing that makes him stand out other then spore. His one plus side. His face is just hard core hahaha

This thing can actually survive super effective hits, as I pointed out before. Its defenses are just better than the other grass/poisons and Spore users.
Morobareru-114/70/80
Vensaur-80/83/100
Roserade-60/55/105
Victreebel-80/65/60
Vileplume-75/85/90
Breloom-60/80/60
Parasect-60/80/80
Smeargle-55/35/45
Fine, I admit Smeargle has a bigger movepool.
Only the other 'shrooms get healing abilities, however with the possible exception of Poison Heal they heal less than regeneration, and dry skin is much harder to activate intentionally.

AND NOTHING BEATS POKEBALL SHIELDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It and its prevo do that. Absolutely hilarious troll, I'm using one in game :D

Wow, this seems to be the number one pokemon this gen that people love to hate. And they keep comparing it to other pokemon offensively for some reason. Why is that? You don't compare Metagross to Registeel much, do you? I hope not. This is a defensively gorgeous pokemon for the standards of team support. I honestly think this may be the single best pokemon for double powder in the entire game. Think something like this:

Morobareru@lefties
bold nature
regeneration
252 hp, 128 Def, 132 Sdf (to give Genesect and Porygon-Z atk boosts instead of more dangerous Satk boosts)
Spore
Stun Spore
Giga drain
Clear smog / protect / substitute

Good partners would be Togekiss or Jirachi, who both love paralysis support for certain sets.

So much wasted potential.... a better (edit) speed stat with acess to leech seed really could have helped this guy out by letting him run a subseed set... at least it doesn't have to resort to Rest for recovery, but even then it's mediocre at best.

What Reason said.

Although I don't quite get the use of sub on him since he is a bit slow other than scouting, protect might work if you want to look out for choice mons. But like in the set I posted, I honestly think it would be a shame to not use Clear Smog. If he can survive strong +2 attacks (that are resisted), he could easily be a great counter to things like Absol or Ryperior, maybe even a Mismagius (which I'll have to check) with paralysis support, and might I note that is quite easy to provide.

@The3DOstritch, he already has good defensive stats, and he'd be a bit too slow to run a subseed set. Giga Drain and Regeneration really help him out though, so I don't see any real need for a reliable recovery move since he'll likely be switching out a lot to spread status and abuse his ability.

Oh, and edit for my above post, I just remembered Registeel and Steelix. =)

Actually, the set with Spore and Clear Smog seems pretty viable to me. It'd be great for shutting down the momentum of offensive teams; Spore to shut down like a revenge-killer or something, then Clear Smog to stop stat-up sweepers. Only I'd use it with like Toxic or something, so you can stall with it and Synthesis while you stop shit from setting up.

I do have to agree about how horrible this thing is in one category... Aesthetically, it's gotta be one of the worst Pokemon since Bidoof/Bibarel. :0

Omg people! His defenses are FINE! You may have glaced at it and said "Oh no 80 defense sux!" But how about u look at his HP as well? See? He has nice and well rounded defenses.

I personally like that Clear Smog move. Tanks and walls are relatively easy to set up on so you could easily ruin some one's little Sword Dance spree.

My ideal moveset

-Giga Drain
-Spore
-Clear Smog
-Growth/Synthesis/Payback/Hidden Power
