Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

They are an ordinary Mantine holding a Wave Incense and a Calm Ditto holding an Everstone. Both English. Not international.
That's the problem right there: you're NOT supposed to give a pokemon an Everstone when trying to RNG breed something; it messes up everything.
Edit: I'll talk to you via VMs so we don't clog up this board.

I gave you an unclear information.

The Elm responses thing is done before I put the Pokés in the Day Care, so the fact that the Ditto was holding an Everstone didn't alter anything because it wasn't stored in the Day Care when I got the responses.

Could I use the Java RNG program to search for spreads for future ID/SID abuse instead of PokeRNG? Sorry lol, I haven't RNG'd for 3 months due to being busy. By that I mean, can I take the PID's from Java as well?

I'm not sure what the problem is, but if your problem is that you're just not hitting your delay, then that's not really a problem unless you've consistently hit it before and now seem to not be able to.

Getting the right seconds does not mean you hit the right delay. One second is about 60delays so use that to gauge it. Use toastplusone timer to help you hit the delay :)
And remove the everstone - it might not affect things now, but it will later ^^

Ventus603: You can use POKERNGDP to search for whatever you want :)

What I meant was the java RNG 2.1 off the first page of this topic. It's the one that takes like 20 minutes to find specific spreads.

If I'm understanding you correctly, they should be the same no matter what program you're using. I haven't used it, but if it's that slow then why do you want to?

I know, it's just I've had better luck using Java for very specific wild pokemon spreads. The more specific I was in PokeRNG, the less results came out.

I'm trying to catch a shiny Ponyta, but I advanced the frame incorrectly, and was hoping someone could help.

I'm playing SS, which means Pokemon in grass have a starting frame of 2. Sweet scenting also advances the frame by 2. I was at Mt. Silver (with no moving NPCs), and my target frame is 71.

This means 71 - 2 (sweet scent) - 2 (monster frame) = 67. I advanced the frame to 67, then sweet scented, but it wasn't shiny. Any idea what went wrong?

Check the nature/IVs but when I RNG'd the one poke I captured, all I did was advance up to 2 before it and then sweet scent. No monster frame stuff.

Ah, that makes sense. I thought I had to stop 4 frames before sweet scenting. I'll give it another go, and stop at 69 this time. Thanks, Toast!

What is the Method that should be choosen for SoulSilver when breeding for shininess and IV's?

i don't think there is one. I just go to the time finder and go to the shiny egg tab, then input the seed to the seed to time function. hit my delay, check with elm calls, put parents in daycare. bike along the route, save in front of daycare man turning to the right (when he is holding the egg) go to time finder again go to egg ivs, input seed to seed to time function, hit my delay.

I tried to RNG the Charmander that you can get from Oak (SS). I'm assuming the Method is 1, so I advanced the frame to 1 frame before the target, but when I picked it up, the nature and IVs were wrong. However, I also noticed that Oak turned to talk to me when I went to pick it up. I know for a fact that I advanced the frames correctly.

Am I on the correct Method, and should I advance the frame until 2 frames before my target this time (since Oak turns when I go to pick up the Charmander)?

ragnar, may i ask you something, what do you do to generate the seed in which you rng for charmander? i can't help you though, but maybe it can give me a heads up on rng'ing for johto starters as well.

Oak's starters are on weird starting frames. Someone might know what exactly they were on, but I don't. I know not all of them will advance the frame by 1 though. The Squirtle that I RNGd there advanced by 4 or 5 for instance.

Use RNG Reporter to see how many frames collecting the charmander advanced it by. Also, there is one random NPC there, so keep that in mind if you're off by one or two frames after calibrating your starter's start frame :)

The Method is indeed 1

EDIT:
Mackenzie: Johto starters are difficult because there's no reliable way to advance the frame at the start of the game. Unless you're doing it on an emulator, you'll probably have to calibrate quite a bit to figure things out.

i see, could you tell me how i can calibrate, which program shall i use, and i'll start soft-resetting when im in front of the pokeballs, or when i am about to go inside the prof. elm's lab? Thanks, though i'll try non-emulator.

Thanks Bakus, that's what I thought. I actually watched the random NPC to make sure he didn't move, and everything went fine.

Unfortunately, I can't use RNGReporter on this PC, but I do know that the nature was Mild. So, if that turns up in the Reporter somewhere, then I'll know. Speaking of which, anyone mind doing a quick check for me (use the Timid hexflawless seed on Method 1)?

Mackenzie: If you want to do it non-emulator, I suggest you ask Riski how to do it. I think she's the only one who went ahead and did it that way, lol.

Having a problem with Pikatimer:

Any time that I update my delay, the next reset I do results in a "No reasonable initial seed found" from RNG Reporter.

I've confirmed a few times now that just by changing my Pikatimer setting back under 1 second, to what they were initially, fixes the problem.

What in the world is going on?
