Excellent. So let's say my frame is 71. Do I advance the frames -1, or do I advance it to 71, then walk outside?

RNGing him may be tough due to so many moving NPCs in the fan club.
 
Ah, alright. Well, I just caught Latios, but it ended up having the wrong nature (Quirky).

Am I supposed to use synch frames or non-synch frames? I used a synch frame, so I'm thinking that is why I may have hit the wrong target.

I have never RNG a roamer before, so this is new to me and I'm shooting in the dark here.
 
You shouldn't be able to use a synch frame. It's done on Method 1. Synchronisers do nothing for Method 1 pokes.

And it's a little hit and miss with what frame you advance to, because there's an NPC inside the fan club who can advance your frame before you leave the door. It's probably best to do a trial run (catch it in a Masterball without saving, check IVs and Nature, etc.). I think mine was +3 when I did it, but I could be wrong, it was a LONG time ago...
 
Well, I'd know if I got the right one or not because it would be shiny.

And Method 1? That makes a whole lot more sense. I'll give that a try.
 
Ah, I didn't know if you were going for Shiny, or for a specific Nature + IVs.
Then yeah, if it's Shiny it should be right. But if it's not Shiny catching it will tell you how many frames you were out by.
 
Where are some places in Diamond without NPCs to mess up the frames? I don't have access to anything past the 7th gym and I'm trying to catch a pokemon that uses an adamant nature (IVs: 31/31/31/x/31/31).
 
Well, I can't use RNGReporter from here, but the nature I got was Adamant. Does anyone mind checking the frame I hit? I was aiming for frame 114 with seed D2140289. I'm certain I hit higher than 114, but not sure exactly how far off I was.

But then, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to advance the frame to -1 of 114 anyway, or if it's -6, etc.

I'm guessing it was frame 120. That's the closest one on method 1.
 
Ah alright, that means I do have to try -6 instead. I'll give that a try too, thanks!

I mean, it may be more, but I'll have sift through the list until I get it right.
 
Since I caught Latios the first time around, I had to use a rebattle code to get Steven to talk to me and have it respawn. Fortunately I don't have to talk to Steven from the Poke Fan house. As long as I press Start+Select inside the house next to the Pokemon center, he will still approach me (he will be invisible, but still talk to me). This way, I've been able to RNG with no frame advancements at all unless they are my own.

One thing confuses me, however. As soon as I step outside the house to advance the frame to my target (114), it randomly jumps between 7-11 frames. I'm thinking that the NPCs outside begin to move before Steven talks to me, which is causing my frames to be thrown off. I've hit Hardy when advancing to frame 103, and hit Brave when advancing to frames 104 and 105. Hardy is 1 before Timid (113), and Brave is one after Timid (115). I'm only one frame off, but I can't seem to hit it.

Any way to remedy this, or just hope I get lucky? Is it even the NPCs at all?
 
i have the same problem,do roamers affect the rng? (entei & raikou),my target is 114,when i hit 103 and go aoutside the frame advance 3,when i jit 104 the frame advance 5 missing for 1 my target frame (wich give me hardy),when i hit 105 the frame advance 6 and im in 115 =/

my question is i need to kill the roamers or select another target frame? o.o?

Got it! Ok lolpo, I think I have it figured out.

Latios is the only roamer in my game, so you can rule out any other roamers that advance the frame in that scenario.

I advanced my frame to 103 four times, which landed me on Hardy (113). I tried frame 104 and 105, which landed me on Brave (115).

I noticed that the NPCs in town (or whatever affects the frame advancement) do not advance the frames randomly, it's a set course based on what frame you're currently on. I tested to see if this was true with different game save times, and it's the same procedure as far as I know.

When I hit 104, the NPCs (theory) advanced my frame by 11. When I hit frame 105, they advanced the frame by 10. So because I was on different frames, the frame advancements were different.

103 (+ 10) = 113
104 (+ 11) = 115
105 (+ 10) = 115

So, I tested the advancements on 114 (landed me on 120) itself and 107 (landed me on 116) when I got Adamant and Calm. Same thing. So now:

107 (+9) = 116
114 (+6) = 120

So the goal was to hit a delay where the NPCs (or whatever advances the frame) to get 114 - the frame you advanced to = X. So I tried frame 106, which landed me on 114, and a shiny Latios (with a Timid nature, the one I wanted). So:

106 (+X) = 114. 114 - 106 = 8.

8=X.

Could be wrong, but give it a try.

In short, try advancing to frame 106, see what you get.
 
I'm starting to RNG in a game whose ID/SID I abused a week ago. Now, I usually have no problems hitting my delay but I don't even know what delay I am hitting rihgt now. RNG'ing for Sudowoodo, btw.

Should I calibrate again? I hate calibrating and I thought timers could negate the need for it.

They pretty much do. How are you checking your seed? I would use Irwin calls. If you didn't know about them, they match up with elm calls although I don't know which goes with which. A search should be able to find that for you.
 
I'm using Elm calls, I don't even know if I have Irwin registered :P

I mean, I don't understand how I'm so far off...whatever, I'll try tomorrow when I'm not dead tired.

when I advance my frames after i hit my seed+delay
Do I start counting from frame six? so I would need to
advance my frames up until 261? am I right :)

Edit: wait that depends on how much my two roamers advance the frame right?

Oh, I assumed that since you were RNGing a Sudowoodo, you weren't that far in the game. Is there another one I don't know about? Does he regenerate?

Edit: Just realized he does regenerate so I assume you beat the Elite 4 and such. Maybe post what your current calibrated seconds/delay is so we can see how far off you are from normal.
 
Ok so i am trying to get a shiny Latias and Latios. Im using the ones from the event in Pewter City(Im not sure if the other way is easier but...). I have seeds for both of them but im still working on Latios(I'll post the seed later in my post). I've been working on it basically all not and I still can't hit my seed. I have read everything on here and im pretty much sure that im doing everything correctly but im just not hitting it. Im always to far off.

My Seed for the Latios is 0b081274
My Frame is 14
The date is picked is 18/12/2010 at 08:01:50
My Delay is 4714

In Pikatimer i put my Calibration delay and seconds as 490 and 13 respectively and im putting my clock 2 minutes before like pikatimer has instructed. When the first timer goes i soft reset my game and then wait at the continue screen while i wait for the other timer to go down. When it hits zero a press a and then when my game loads up and I press X straight away and call Elm. All his responces never seem to match the seed im looking for though and i really have no clue what im doing wrong. Do most people have this much problems? I have done RNGing before but only in Diamond for shiny eggs.

I wont post the seed for Latias yet since i want to focus on Latios first

I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me. I really wanna try and get these 2 before the new year.
