What's the simplest, most effective way to hack check trades I have received on the GTS? I have a flashcard, so I can obtain the .pkm files.
Properly done hacks are practically impossible to detect. Aside from the obvious stuff like looking for illegal moves, you can check if the PID matches the IVs/nature/ability/gender/shininess. If they put in enough effort to make that match up, you probably aren't going to be able to tell.

Why is Shadow Ball on Gengar preferred over Sludge Bomb? The only reason I see is that Shadow Ball is super effective against two types while Sludge Bomb is super effective against one.

It is because Shadow Ball generally hits more Pokemon for more damage than Sludge Bomb, and it also hits every Pokemon at least neutrally when combined with Focus Blast.

EDIT: lol

Sludge Bomb has horrible coverage, while Shadow Ball can provide perfect neutral coverage alongside any Fighting Type move (Like Focus Blast).

EDIT: ...

Poison is not at all good as an attacking type, especially in OU, with all the Steel and Ground types running amok. Its only super effective against Grass, which isn't all that common in this Dragon-infested meta(the only widely used Grass type, Nattorei, is immune to poison). On the other hand, Ghost is super effective on other Ghosts as well as Psychics while only being resisted by Dark/Steel/Normal. Of these, the most used Dark type(Tranitar) is beaten handily by Focus Blast, all prevalent Steels either take neutral from Shadow Ball or are handled by Focus Blast, and Normal types are not common at all anyway.

EDIT: >:(

I've heard from around that certain pokemon have no sprite in the High Link or something, which means they cannot appear there. Could someone confirm/disprove it with a link?

i cant confirm with a link sorry. but apparently all the 5th gen pokemon that are not used in the main game in some way (like hihidaruma, or munna, zekrom etc) dont have an overworld sprite in the game data, which is needed to be walking around in the highlink forest.

i think its been proved earlier in the thread somewhere, or in the research thread.

If i use safeguard on my team and I decide to to rest, will the effect of safeguard affect the rest, meaning i wont be able to sleep and gain full health or will i be able to keep healing my pokemon without sleeping ??

"Blocks burn, confusion, freeze, paralysis, poison, and sleep on your team for 5 turns. This effect remains even if the user switches. Safeguard does protect from Toxic Spikes. It does not protect from Thrash, Petal Dance, or Outrage confusion. The effect also makes Yawn fail against the user's party."

This is what the Smogon definition says. I would guess if it doesn't stop tspikes or self confusion, it wouldn't stop sleep from rest.

What is the better move for AgiliGross-Thunderpunch or Ice Punch?

I would say Ice Punch in the current meta game there are lots of Dragons, but few Gyaras and other Bulky Waters (Burungeru and Vaporeon are the only common ones). Also they all threaten with Boiling Water now and since you won't OHKO most of them, your much better off switching out (unless you run Lum Berry).

Do the wild Pokemon/trainers have good AI? Or is it somewhat dumb like this...:

I send out Sandile (Meguroko) and the opponent sends out Blitzle (Shimama). The Blitzle uses Thunderbolt (Which does not affect me), and I use Sandstorm. Blitzle then uses Thunder Wave (Again, doesn't affect me) and I use earthquake and ko it.

That was an example I threw together off the top of my head - if they can't learn any of those moves, my bad, but it proves my point of bad AI.

In all the Pokemon games, none of the in-game NPCs/wild Pokemon, apart from the ones at the Battle Frontier which you encounter after high streaks have had even remotely good AI.

So yeah its not uncommon for a Shimama to use Thunderbolt on your Excadrill even if it has Nitro Charge in its moveset.

Each trainer class has a different AI and IVs.
Ace Trainers for example, have 75%+ chances of using a set up move on turn one and will always attemp to use SE Moves > STAB Moves > Neutral Moves. If they can't touch you, they just switch out (as of BW).
Youngsters, on the other hand will just try to Tackle your ghosts for 68372 turns in a row.

Best moveset/spread for Lilligant/Doredia in OU?

While the above post is quite effective, this one that I have been using has worked rather successfully.

Doredia @ Leftovers (Own Temo)
Timid~ 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
-Butterfly Dance
-Sleep Powder
-Petal Dance
-Hidden Power Rock

It depends if you want a Recovery move with a way to outspeed sun, or more power and consistent recovery amounts of 1/16 per turn.

What moves should CBGross run, if I even should even run the set at first place?
Also, does Hustle lower the accuracy of physical moves only, or any move? Does ESpeed now hit before Ice Shard (very important for Dragonite!)?

But Steel is redundand with Ice...or not?
