Coming into 5th generation is a... weird situation. I see Pokemon that really weren't used in 4th gen, now being used in most standard OU teams. With this in mind, I wanted to make an extremely powerful team while still retaining bulkiness. My team in order:
Uxie @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Trick
- U-turn
- Psychic
I tried using a bulky set for this guy in 4th gen, but it really didn't work due to extreme powerhouses. Now, I see a new world for Uxie. Trick works wonders common SR or Taunt leads, crippling their setup with a nice Choice Scarf. The Speed EVs give it enough to outspeed most leads, barring Aerodactyl. Once Trick is set up, Uxie can set up Stealth Rock safely, and then U-turn out. Not many attacks can kill it, this thing is ridiculously bulky.
Conkeldurr (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 SDef
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Payback
This guy is quite a monstrous bulky sweeper. With new physical offensive threats such as Excadrill and Blaziken, this guy can stop them dead in their tracks. After about 2 or 3 Bulk Ups, Mach Punch becomes quite deadly. Payback deals with Reuniclus and Gengars, and Drain Punch keeps the bulkiness.
Dragonite (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Inner Focus
EVs: 244 HP / 248 SDef / 16 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Thunder Wave
- Dragon Tail
- Roost
- Substitute
Man, this guy is annoying as... I don't even know. I faced this guy in a battle once, and it caused me to pull my hair out in frustration. Known as a Parashuffler, this guy can cause some damage with entry hazards. Thunder Wave cripples sweepers, and then Dragon Tail acts like Roar with some damage added in. In addition to that, Sub and a recovery move, and you have one annoying bastard. With the SDef EVs, an HP Ice from a +Nature 252 EV'd Chandelure will 2HKO it, letting Dragonite get a Thunder Wave off at least.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Spikes
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Protect
Yup, standard spiker to go along with SR. I invested more SDef EVs in this one than the standard set, but I'm not sure if it really benefits him. I've seen that Flamethrowers can still OHKO him, so I'm wondering if I should invest some EVs into Def instead. Suggestions on this one.
Volcarona (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Flame Body
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Quiver Dance
- Bug Buzz
- Fiery Dance
- Hidden Power [Rock]
May replace this guy. I am considering replacing him with Reuniclus, but that will give me 3 Dark-type/Bug-type weaknesses. Nonetheless, this guy can put the hurt if he can get a Quiver Dance in. Suggestions on a replacement, otherwise I might switch up the moveset.
Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Recover
Standard Rapid Spinner here. Replaced TBolt with Ice Beam, after seeing more Dragons in the metagame, and the fact that no one else has an Ice-type move to counter those pesky Dragons.
Trouble Pokemon:
Espeon
Magic Mirror completely screws up my SR setup and the Parashuffle, which is the basis for my sweepers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Uxie @ Choice Scarf
