First Competitive Team

I put this team together not long ago to test it out. It's worked very well! It has taken down many strong Sandstorm and Rain teams as well as others. Anywho, enjoy.

JUST FOUND OUT SHADOW TAG CHANDALURE IS UBER! LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT!

Swampert @ Leftovers
Torrent
Relaxed
240 HP, 216 Def, 52 SDef
Earthquake
Ice Beam
Stealth Rock
Roar

At first my lead was Heatran, and when that opened up way too much of a fighting/ground weakness, I went to Swampert. I needed a little extra help with Garchomp and the likes anyway. Usually gets the rocks set up and maybe kills a pokemon; doesn't last long though. If I see I'll need it later, I'll switch it out, but usually it dies off early.

Ferrothorn @ Rugged Helmet
Poison Barbs
Sassy
244 HP, 20 Def, 244 SDef
Leech Seed
Spikes
Power Whip
Protect

My replacement for the late Chandalure. Good seeder, spiker, defender. Helps the team out a lot. What more could be said about it, really? It's a stall beast!

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
Bold
252 HP, 216 Def, 52 SDef
Thunderbolt
Psychic
Calm Mind
Wish

I LOVE this thing in the middle of my team. After anthing threatening is taken out, this thing can come in, set up and sweep, or stall, or pass a wish. Good Lord, Jirachi is just a great pokemon! Provides needed synergy.

Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Levitate
Modest
4 HP, 252 SAtk, 252 Spe
Draco Meteor
Dark Pulse
Flamethrower
Focus Blast

Have to be careful how I use this one. It isn't overly fast, but it can take a hit sometimes and retaliate BIG. Draco Meteor hits nearly everything hard, Dark Pulse gets stab and hits all psychics and ghosts hard, Flamethrower for anything that Chandalure can't catch, and Focus Blast just reigns on T-tar and the likes.

Starmie @ Choice Specs
Natural Cure
Timid
4 HP, 252 SAtk, 252 Spe
Surf
Thunderbolt
Ice Beam
Trick

Usually this thing comes in late. I've had it as my last pokemon before and despite having specs, it swept four pokes in a row. This think also outspeeds and kills Garchomp, Mence, and Dragonite, who I need out of the way ASAP! Might be my favorite on the team, just because it comes through every single time. I can usually only get it in after one of mine faints, but I guess you gotta give one up to kill your opponent.

Conkeldurr @ Leftovers
Guts
Adamant
120 HP, 212 Atk, 176 SDef
Bulk Up
Drain Punch
Mach Punch
Stone Edge

Just look at this guy. Yeah... he is scary. In the beginning, I built the team around this guy. He can take several hits, and hit back even harder, has a recovery move that hits hard, a priority move, and Bulk Up, making him even sturdier. He's almost every aspect of a team himself. Though he doesn't play very "pretty", he does his job, and very well. Just an all around beast. And he has two stone slabs for weapons.. Yeah.

Chandelure doesn't really need balloon, especially when you can choose what to match it up with. Leftovers would make you harder to take down, while life orb would give you more power. I rarely find anything being able to status Chandelure because it has so much power anyway, so lum isn't very useful. Also, there are a few arguments for or against using -2 moves on set up sweepers. If you can easily get to +4,5, or 6, then overheat might be the better option. however, if you only get a few boosts, the drop in power (making you switch or CM more) is unfavorable and you can use Flamethrower/Fire Blast.

Duely noted, though I just found out shadow tag on it is banned... unless this isnt true anymore. I'll switch out to Fire Blast, and I'll try out Leftovers. thank you.

I would recommend a Choice Scarf on Hydreigon, as you are running dracometeor, and his speed isnt tooo great. Your moveset also seems geared toward choice as well.

Here's some animated sprites that you can copy and paste in to get rid of those little "x"s where pictures used to be.

Anyways. Your team all around seems solid, and I like that you centralize around Special-Offense.

A major thing I notice is that things like Roobushin, Scrafty, Gengar, Rankurusu, and Breloom wreck you. Seeing how Shanderaa and Defensiveness do not go together, and ST+Shanderaa is banned, your team could benefit from replacing it with something more fitting. Lets see...

Blissey/Chansey pretty much stop Shanderaa, Jirachi, Hydreigon, and Starmie, while being able to cripple Conkelderr with Thunder Wave. Burungeru works similarly and takes hits very well from almost all of your team. You have shared weaknesses to Ghost, Dark, and Grass; all powerful and common types in 5th Gen. Eliminating Shanderaa would halve your weaknesses to Ghost and Dark, while loosing a helpful grass resist. Ah-ha! Replacing Shanderaa with Nattorei would definetly help you!

@Rugged Helmet
Sassy~244 HP / 20 Def / 244 SpD
-Leech Seed
-Spikes
-Power Whip
-Protect

A wonderfull wall, Spiker, and supporter in general. With the EV Spread and Rugged Helmet, Natty is able to take powerful hits on the Special side of the spectrum, while simultaneously taking hits on the physical side; punishing those that hit him with a nice chunk of damage from his Rugged Helmet and Iron Barbs. Leech Seed allows you to rob some health and force some switches, while Power Whip allows you to hit things that would otherwise get in your way, or use you as Taunt bait. Protect allows you to scout for an incoming move from one of Nattys counters, then switch to an appropriate recipient to take the hit well and deal with the aformentioned threat. Spikes is the big selling point here. With a few layers of Spikes, Nattorei can become an extremely handy-helper to the team by turning many 2HKOs into OHKOs, and perhaps even turning 3HKOs to helpful 2HKOs.

Hope I could help! Sorry if anything sounds off, *yawn*, I'm getting a bit sleepy. n.n

ToastTyrant: Switching to nattorei seems to be a good idea. without shadow tag, chandalure has just been nothing. Paralysis, however, wouldnt be all bad for conkeldurr. it's already amazingly slow, so the speed drop wouldnt hurt, and with guts it would get an attack boost. i shall try out nattorei though. thank you for the help!

Of course! :D

Just remember, being "Unable to move" as a bulky hitter is alot worse than the speed drop, even if you get a nice attack boost. It's mainly asking for bulky sweepers and Ghosts carrying Sub (like Gengar) to come in and set up. Just a niptick of wisdom.
