General OU RMT (But with an Excadrill and NO sandstorm)

Well bonjour y'all. This isn't the first team I've made and used in the 5th generation, but it is the first one I've actually gotten some good use and a good percentage of wins with. I was just wondering what you all thought of it and how you would change it as I know of a few little problems it has that, when encountered, I basically lose every time. So, here we go. I started off knowing I wanted to base the whole team round a bulky RestTalk Gyarados. With Dragon tail this generation, bulky Gyara works wonders and wins me lots of matches.

Due to me forcing lots and lots of switches with this beast, I needed something to do some damage whilst the opponant is switching. I settled on Toxic spikes (I don't have Stealth Rock on this team at all, problem?) and went with the old 4th Gen Roserade lead.

I next thought about dealing some serious damage, and picking off whatever I've weakend using Gyara. SpinBlocking is always a good thing too, so I went with Gengar.

This next decision is something you're all going to think is really wrong, but it works for me, so there. I'm using an Excadrill as a bulky(ish) Rapid spinner. No one see's it coming, I never get a ghost type out in front of me to stop me, and it's really cool. So there.

Another really common new toy of this generation is Reuniclus, or however you spell the little jelly baby's name. Magic guard is a life saver, and calm mind is tried and tested and proven to work. So I put the jelly baby in my team and it has won me quite a lot of games.

Finally, I thought to powering up my team. I've always had problems getting my teams to gel properly, and this last guy just seems to be here to fill up numbers. It's an Agility Metagross atm, but I'm considering an Infernape here. We'll see what you's think.

So there's my team in brief. Let's get down to the numbers.

407.png

Roserade @ Focus sash
Timid/Natural cure
252 Sp.Atk/Spd, 4 HP
Sleep powder
Leaf storm
H P [Ice]
Toxic spikes

Generic lead from the 4th gen that still works well here. Sleep powder and Sash means I'm going to be getting lots of spikes down on many an occasion. Leaf storm catches a lot of things off guard and H P is for coverage.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Impish/Intimidate
248 HP, 252 Def, 8 Sp.Def
Rest
Sleep talk
Waterfall
Dragon tail

Again, a generic 'mon. But this one is so awesome and I don't often see him used at all these days. Waterfall is STAB and something to finish off whatever I'm stalling against, Dragon tail spreads Status and isn't ruined by Taunt, which is sooo sweet. Rest/Sleep talk let me keep going forever. This thing is the centre of my team, and I love him.

Gengar @ Choice scarf
Modest/Levitate
252 Sp.Atk/Spd, 4 HP
Shadow ball
Thunderbolt
Focus blast
Hypnosis

Gengar is a great revenge killer, spin blocker and assassin. I don't know why I have hypnosis when I've got sleep powder up top, but it has helped once or twice. Suggestions for that being replaced would be useful. In general, this thing is kinda normal and boring too, but not too many people expect the scarf and if you think you can outspeed him then don't, well, lets just say you've got a big problem now.

Excadrill @ Leftovers
Adament/Sand rush
252 Atk/Hp, 6 Spd
Substitute
Rapid spin
Earthquake
Rock slide

So now we get to the odd one. Because everyone (and I mean everyone) uses this thing as a swords dancer, I get the surprise factor again and get rapid spins in all the time. Eathquake and Rock slide are still coming off over 400 attack, so they do loads of damage and sub let's me predict easier.

Reunilcus @ Leftovers
Bold/Magic guard
220 HP, 248 Def, 40 Sp.Def
Recover
Calm mind
Psychic
Focus blast

My jelly baby, and a standard calm mind set up. Focus blast is almost guaranteed to miss at the crucial minute, but that's life. And this thing can live forever so it almost always gets another shot at it.

Metagross @ Life orb
Adament/Clear body
252 Atk, 196 Spd, 60 HP
Agility
Meteor mash
Earthquake
Thunderpunch

This guy was just picked for his physical prowess and doesn't always work, and as such is the most likely member to be replaced completely. He's really standard, and that's about it.

So there's the team. They work really quite well together, but the main problems I have are Oven Rotom, poison types ridding me of my spikes and some Sunny day teams. All comments will be read and considered, so get going ;) cheers

I am not the best team rater, but this is what I think:

-Gengar first off needs timid, and if you are really adamant about keeping it then you must do some ev alterations. 9/10 times running the non-speed boosting nature, with max speed, places you in some useless speed tier. Also I would suggest using a hidden power over hypnosis, perhaps hidden power fighting?

-Excadrill needs jolly, without it, it can not effectively wall break, which I guess is that its doing at the moment. And if sandstorm comes up atleast you get a speed tie with another excadrill.

YOU NEED STEALTH ROCKS IF YOU BASE YOUR TEAM ON SWITCHING.

That the above guys advice and this.

Gyarados
Remove Rest get Sub
Remove Resttalk get Dragon Dance
keep leftovers

Now your Gyarados will do more damage with Dragon tail and can actually cause harm.

Excadrill
remove sub get rocks.

thats all.

It doesn't need timid, it's a scarf user. Therefore it's fast enough. And it has Focus blast, so why does it need Hidden power Fighting?

It's not about the speed though. I bring it in and sub on the switch to guarantee my Rapid spin and then if it's still up I can then attack off a full attack stat. Jolly wouldn't make a difference seeing as it has no Speed EV investment.

That doesn't make any sense. Gyarados is staying the way it is. Why do I need to increase my speed to use a move with negative priority? I'll admit using rocks somewhere is a massive bonus though, I'll try it on Excadrill.
