Pokémon Black/White in-game discussion

Not sure if this is the place for this but I got through the whole game without a critical catch then I got two in a row in white forest.

Still haven't seen a shiny. :(
The only shiny I have is a Blaziken PokeShifted from HeartGold (and I haven't seen the regular form yet).

Ironically, in Black, my girlfriend found a shiny... AUDINO... (fucking hate that Pokemon) after about three days real time.

I hatched a shiny charizard in emerald that was a damn good bellyzard in its day, although bellyzard is total crapola nowadays.

In diamond, I got ridiculously lucky with shinies. I was actually starting to get scared that some supernatural force was buttering me up for something. I hatched an almost flawless (in necessary stats) shiny skarmory and buneary (now a switcheroo/magic coat klutz lopunny that makes a surprisingly good lead in lower tiers), and I caught a bulky Porygon (now a P2 with eviolite), a fast gastly (now a 'suicide' gengar) and a fast eevee (now a specs jolteon...although lack of hidden power kinda sucks, specs volt change on this thing is really sweet). Thats not including about 5 more shinies I obtained in gen IV that were of course completely useless crap.

Black/White is a different story though. I did catch a shiny buizel, but it was timid, and I forgot about it when I deleted the save data halfway through my first run.

I find 1-2 shinies in each of my Pokemon games starting with Silver. Except I played Silver on my GameBoy Pocket (no color) and didn't understand why I ran into a Zubat that sparkled so I just killed it and moved on. Years later I realized I KOed a shiny Zubat! A shiny Bellsprout in Leaf Green, which is sitting in my Black Version as a Victrebel. A shiny Metagross from Sapphire, which is one of my signature Pokemon because it luckily had a respectable nature. I found 3 in Diamond (I had like 200+ hours in that so no surprise). But I traded them away. I KIND of regret that thinking back on it.... And Litwick is my first in B/W. I suppose I'm a luck magnet cuz I've seen quite a few.

My FR must be a lucky cart as the only two shiny's I've ever caught came from there-Rhyhorn in the Safari Zone (traded for a Mew) and a Gastly. Of course I now have a shiny Luxray and Trapinch that I got from a friend but whatever.

Training my party to level 65, hoping I should be able to beat the League the second time with those levels.

And yes, defense ev training is gay now.... good thing I barely ever give things defense evs.

Im doing the same thing except all dragons :)
Right now I have a:
~lv46 Deino
~lv50 Seadra
~lv51 Haxorus
~lv61 Altaria
~lv62 Dragonite
~lv63 Druggidon

I just need to evolve Deino and Seadra and train them up

65 might not be a good level, even for Dragons. There is no Pokemon in the second run of the E4 under level 71 and Alder's best Pokemon is level 77 (Volcarona).

Just caught a solid Zekrom. I had a fainted Jolly Synchronize Munna first so it was pretty easy, and if you defeat / run from Zekrom, the next one you fight is generated as if it were the first so you can just keep running until you get the nature you want without having to reset.

N was pretty much a joke. The highlight was my Eviolite Zweilous surviving Hydreigon's Dragon Pulse to kill it with Dragon Rush (which has like 60 accuracy with Hustle).

^ I beat the second round last night with 5 level 61's and a level 65.
I don't recommend it. It took way too many revives and a few resets. Also my Archeops (65) ended up level 69, because it kept having to save the day. (fly + flying jewel OHKO Accelgor and stone edge OHKO Volcarona.

Considering he was 65 and he won it for me, 65's make it possible, but I'd recommend a little higher if you want it to be a litte easier.

How were you able to tell it's nature before you caught it?

Naw 65 is pretty good. Grinding any further would bore the living day lights out of people! Just bring some revives, play type matchups correctly, and you'll win in no time! Took me no resets but about 15 revives and a HELL of a LOT of potions. Like over 100 were used in several sad attempts to PP/Poison/Burn stall the opponent!

If its that hard maybe I should train to 70. Because I dont plan on using Revives....at all

You guys are wusses. I entered E4 Round 2 with nothing above level 55 and left as Champion with nothing above level 60. It wasn't a walk in the park, but it wasn't unbearable.

Get better :3

I did it with a team at mainly 65s (except the starter), but that's mainly because I grinded everyday for money at the stadium with the 6 of them, so they leveled fairly evenly. But yeah it's doable with less easily, really all it comes down to is how much you want to plan (in terms of making specific matchups) and how much you want to spend (on items obviously).

It's my first time in Pokemon that I play without starters pokemon (except Water-pirate). And it's my first time I use 6 pokemons ...

Thanks TM reusable ... Thanks new experience system

Can anyone tell me what's so new about the exp system? I haven't noticed much

EDIT: I looked it up and looks like experience is based on opposing pokemon as well. Thats pretty cool :)
