Poccil:

I know that, but I meant would both pokemon get full EVs for killing something or would it be split in half for each pokemon

If your pokemon gets experience, it gets the full EV amount, no matter how many pokemon it splits the Experience with. I am 100% sure of this and have tested it in-game.

Since the wifi board is closed and the Search function seems to be down, I'll ask here:

What is the average time it takes to RNG something, from beginning to end? I'm having trouble getting the hang of it; I just can't hit the right delay. Is there some technique people use not listed in the DPP RNG Manipulation guide?

@above; obviously you're going to be slow at it the first time you get around to actually starting. Including everything, in the past gen, to breed an egg at first it took me around 1 to 1 1/2 hours to complete (nature, gender, shininess, ability, egg moves, IVs, etc.).
However, once you get super used to hitting your delay, this is it. I have hit my delay on the first reset and second reset. In these cases, RNG'ing was extremely fast and took only about 30 mins. Keep in mind I'm talking about 4th gen, but I imagine 5th gen abuse is quite similar

Not sure where to ask this, so here we go. I was watching some battles on youtube, and now i'm quite interested in the state of miltank and blastoise this gen. Was wondering if someone could give me some decent builds for these two (ev's,moves, items, etc.)

Although there would be some changes, I'm sure they are minimal as Blastoise didn't receive any stellar DW ability, and Miltank, well, it's Miltank.

Blastoise remains good as a Scarfer, or Bulky Water.
Mitank likes Body Slam, Heal Bell, Milk Drink, EQ; bulky

This is the right place to ask and Miltank really gained nothing this generation over last generation. Blastoise didn't get much either except for the ability Rain Dish from Dream World which increases its bulkiness in rain. So really you can run the same things you did last generation with maybe a few minor adjustments

thanks for the input zach, i supose i can base a build off of the standard smogon 4th gen set? was considering seismic toss over bodyslam though.

Thank you. I've gotten the delay-hitting now, but I'm having trouble doing the RNG advancements. I'm pretty sure I'm doing them right, but the pokemon I encounter afterwards doesn't have the right IVs.

For instance, my target is on frame 187. I'm Sweet Scenting in the grass, so the game starts at frame 2. So I flip between the Journal pages 92 times, then move forward one square and Sweet Scent. That seems to be right, but it doesn't provide the right result.

How exactly does the journal flipping work? I flip to a page with "X pokemon was fainted/captured", and the first time I land on it, it advances it by 2, right? Then I flip to an adjacent page with the same thing, and it advances it by two, and I do this until I've advanced 184 frames, then press Start. Is that not how it works?

EDIT: To make the Journal problem a little more clear, as I think it is the main issue: If I open a the Journal, which has 1 blank page, then go left to a page that says "You captured X pokemon," then go left to ANOTHER page that has "You captured X pokemon," then go BACK to the second page (The first of the two that mentioned capturing a pokemon), how many RNG advances have I gotten?

Firstly, I'll assume that the next pokemon game will be for the 3DS.
Will a hypothetical 5th gen game on the 3DS be able to communicate with the DS to be able to trade/battle, or will it be the same deal as before where we have to use a poketransfer to take them from Black/White to the new game?

I don't expect you guys to know for sure, but if you know somethign about the 3DS software that I don't, i may get lucky.

If a pokemon game comes on the 3ds then I have no doubt it will be some crappy spin off like Pokemon Ranger or...... might even be a Pokemon Dash

GameFreak needs to stay loyal to its older customers, and thats by staying on the normal DS for as long as it needs to. We have little kids running around with 3DSs and other games, but older pokemon fans will be reluctant to buy the 3DS for pokemon only. It will be a wreck to the franchise

Fuck DSi
Fuck 3DS

Totally and fully agreed, Sy123. If I buy a 3DS it'll be becuase Game Freak is twisting my arm by releasing a Pokemon game exclusively for it. Hell, I'm afraid I'll miss out on Gen 6 because it's only for the 3DS.

The only good thing about the DSi is compatibility with WPA and WPA2 wifi setttings. If I ever buy a DSi, it's because I'm tired of missing out on wifi and I luck out with future DS pokemon games.

Is there anything stopping (clauses or rules not abilities) me from using Breloom on BW random wifi and putting their entire team to sleep?

Actually, would someone be willing to let me bounce a few questions off him? I don't need an "RNG tutor" or anything, I just need to figure out why on earth I'm hitting the wrong frame, and I don't want to flood this thread with questions.

Yes, I know there is a problem with the Eevelutions not saving, but I've played the game several times now (most of them without pressing "play again")and it still won't let me get my Vaporeon. What can I do to get it?

What I did IIRC, I finished the game, and closed the screen opened it up again, and it said "You've Already Befriended Espeon" or some other stuff like that.

Yes, I did that. It still wasn't there. I say wasn't because my time in the Dream World ran up.

Now I think I know what you mean, they don't actually become available until May 5th, when the promotion ends. When May 5th arrives, you'll probably get your Espeon sometime after that date. How you'll get it is unknown at this point in time.
