Building my first team.

So I'm a bit new to this still and want to build a good competitive team. I hope I'm starting off on the right track here and am hoping for some good advice.

Pokemon #1
Whimsicott | Timid | Prankster | Focus Sash
EV's HP-252 Spd-252 Sp.D-4
Substitute|Toxic|Leech Seed|Taunt
While I'd rather have Sableye in this spot he's not been release with the Prankster ability. Whimsicott's main purspose is to stop hazard setup and setup Leech Seed, or Toxic with priority. He's pretty fragile so I decided to go with a Focus sash just to get off a Toxic or Leech seed before sacrificing him. I might replace a move with Energy Ball for the STAB bonus.

Pokemon #2
Infernape | Adamant | Blaze | Air Balloon
EV's Atk-252 Spd-252 HP-4
Flare Blitz|Close combat|Thunderpunch|U-turn
I just wanted something that can deal alot of damage and help setup for Nidoking sweeps. I chose Close Combat and Flare blits for the 120 power and STAB bonus and Thunderpunch for water and flying coverage. U-turn is there to switch out if I need to while breaking focus Sash and preventing pursuit. Air Balloon was just a last minute choice as I haven't decided on an item for him. I've thought about muscle band for the extra 10% increase in power but wasn't sure if it give me any worthwhile OHKO that aren't already possible.

Pokemon #3
Nidoking | Timid | Sheer Force | Life Orb
EV's Sp.Atk-252 Spd-252 Hp-4
Flame Thrower|Ice Beam|Earth Power|Thunderbolt
Nidoking is here to deal lots of damage and hopefully sweep late game after any threats to him have been removed. I take advantage of Sheer Force negating the Life Orb recoil and giving Nidoking a 66% increase in damage with all moves. I've also thought of adding something to baton pass speed increase to him either through agility/Rock Polish or Quiver Dance.

Pokemon #4
Jellicent |Calm | Cursed Body | Leftovers
EV's HP-252 Sp.D-252 Sp.Atk-4
Recover|Confuse Ray|Hydro Pump|Protect
Jellicent is here to wall Special attacks and stall with recover and protect. Works great with Whimsicotts Leech Seed and Toxic. I've also considered switching him for Cofagirus, but he lacks a reliable way to heal.

Pokemon #5
Galvantula | Timid | Compound eyes | Wise Glasses
EV's Sp.Atk-252 Spd-252 HP-4
Volt Switch|Thunder|Energy Ball|Bug Buzz
Not much to say. He's here to deal with any water types and Volt switch is here to switch out and break focus sash assuming they aren't ground type, but that's why I chose Energy ball. With compoundeyes he can use Thunder with 90+ accuracy and gets the extra power over thuderbolt. Bug Buzz for the STAB damage and Energy ball for coverage to ground.

Pokemon #6
Dragonite | Jolly | Multiscale | Yache berry
EV's Atk-252 Spd-252 HP-4
Roost|Extremespeed|Earthquake|Outrage
Dragonite can easily switch in on most moves and roost off the damage or Extremespeed to finish off weakened enemies. Yache Berry lets him survive Ice attacks and is very useful if Multiscale hasn't been broken. I like Outrages power but I don't know if being locked into the move is worth it on this build since I can't roost to regain health. Earthquake is there to take care of Rock, Steel, and Lightning types.

So please give me any advice you can on what I should change or am doing wrong.

Just a couple of thoughts. The two main things that stick out are that you should probably use Thunderbolt instead of Thunder on Galvantula. Thunder is terribly inaccurate, and pretty much should only be used in the rain.

Also, instead of putting Confuse Ray on Jellicent, I'd recommend using a primary status effect. Confusion is okay, but can be kind of gimmicky, and isn't permanent. I think Will-O-Wisp would be a good idea. Also, Hydro Pump suffers from the same thing as Thunder. I'd consider replacing it with Surf. Alternatively, you can combine a water move and status together with Scald, and use that, then fill the fourth slot with possibly Confuse Ray, or maybe another status effect.

Also, I like the Whimsicott on this set. I think my favorite is one that absolutely shuts down walls:

Whimsicott | Modest | Prankster | Choice Band
EV's HP-252 SpA-252 Def-4
Taunt|Switcheroo|Giga Drain|Toxic

Switcheroo a choice band onto the wall and shut it down. Taunt prevents it from healing, Toxic badly poisons it, and Giga Drain for recovery.

I had forgotten Jellicent got Will-o-wisp I'll switch that now. And I definitely like the sounds of that Whimsicott I'll try it out.

With Compound Eyes Thunder is much more accurate and should probably always be used over t bolt on galvantula.
