(RMT) Shadom (Peaked #25)

First RMT! Peaked at #25 on Smogon's PO server and was doing well on PBC server earlier today. Figured I would share it since I really like the power and sweeps this team can do, while still having a bit of bulkiness.

gengar.png

Gengar (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Icy Wind
- Focus Blast
- Taunt
- Shadow Ball

One of the best leads I have ever used. The movepool is for great coverage, and great coverage it does. If a Skarm leads or maybe he switches into a wall I will Taunt, otherwise I will Icy/Focus/Ball depending on the foe. For leading dragons Icy Wind does great with Gengar's high SAtk. Focus Blast gets rid of Ttars that try to ruin my day with Sandstream. Shadow Ball is for a good STAB with high power, usually good for beefy Psychics or other Gengars.

I have only really faced one or two other Gengar leads before, and if they do manage to outspeed him and get a hit with their Shadow Ball, I'll retaliate with my own Shadow Ball, because I am still alive by Focus Sash. Many people don't expect the Focus Sash and they regret ever messing with him without some damaging weather up. And yes, that is really the only fallback to this Gengar, if Ttar or Hippo gets a sandstorm brewing, Focus Sash is useless.

Garchomp (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Fire Fang
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Your basic Scarfchomp but with Fire Fang. This thing outspeeds a lot of things that I have seen. This combined with the insane power of this Dragon, means it rips through teams and is my goto sweeper. His movepool is set up to take down the maximum number of pokes. The reason I chose Fire Fang over Fire Blast is to take advantage of the extra EVs I was giving him in ATK. Outrage, needs no description. Earthquake is there for the Heatrans and Excadrills and other misc threats. Stone Edge is there mainly for the Zapdos, which really is the only thing that somewhat weakens my team if it can get a Twave and stall to the wall me. Stone Edge also helps with the genie pokes, things which I can't stand.

reuniclus.png

Reuniclus (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Psychic
- Focus Blast

Your basic CM Reun. Just get like 1 or 2 CMs off and your home free most of the time. This guy is a beast with SAtk. The main reason why he is so bulky is to survive while he gets CMs up. Usually he does and if he gets low on health I'll just Recover. Psychic is a powerful STAB which is used to get rid of pesky fighters like Conkledurp or misc poisons like Tentacruel. Focus Blast is there for the Ttar or any Steel really. The Modest nature is there to give it some more SAtk but I'm thinking of changing the nature to a Special Defense based one instead. Because CM is enough to leave everything off SAtk but I'm still not sure. As long as they don't cripple her to badly, Reun will smash your face in badly and leave you looking for your eyes.

200px-Genesect_xous.png

Genesect @ Life Orb
Trait: Download
EVs: 64 Atk / 192 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- U-turn

Genesect with Life Orb. Brings a huge amount of power to the show and this is usually my go to revenger for the team. With this movepool he can trample almost anything except Fighting. Ice Beam gets rid of the Dragons and birdies while Flamethrower gets rid of pain in the necks like Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Bronzong. Thunderbolt also gets rid of the birdies, and gives me an out to bulky Waters that seem to be everywhere. U-turn is for coverage and to scout.

conkeldurr_v_2_by_xous54-d38f657.png

Conkeldurr (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Guts
EVs: 120 HP / 252 Atk / 136 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Payback

The amazing powerhouse himself, Conkeldurp. He can take hits and dish them out which is what I like about him. Get 2 or 3 Bulk-Ups under his belt and you can say bye-bye to almost anything your opponent throws at you. The only thing that I could think of that could outspeed this and beat it is Latios, which is a fairly common threat. Although Mach Punch has the priority, it lacks in the power department, which I don't like. Besides Latios or Latias, this thing pulverizes common threats like Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Ttar, while putting a huge dent in others. Drain Punch is there for recovery and Payback is for those pesky Psychics that might OHKO me anyways. Your standard Bulk Up Conkledurp.

149px-497Serperior.png

Serperior (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 32 HP / 180 Atk / 104 Def / 116 SDef / 76 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Leaf Blade
- Pursuit
- Toxic
- Rest

A bulky Grass with some decent Atk stats. Leaf Blade is for a powerful STAB and it is awesome when it crits. Pursuit is for those pokemon that want to get away from Grass types, most notably Rotom-W. Toxic is for coverage since I don't have any other status inducers and Rest is there for recovery. Lum Berry is so I don't waste turns trying to come awake.

I just don't know about this one. Quite honestly I wanted a bulky grass, but I didn't want it to be Ferrothorn, due to its extreme weakness to Fire. As I am slowly realizing though, Ferrothorn would probably be the better choice for a bulky Grass. Serperior has superior Atk and SAtk though, I don't want to lose that. Any suggestion for a replacement would be appreciated.

Please comment and make suggestions! Remember, it's my first RMT so if I did something wrong please let me know!

hmm, honestly i would scrap the whole bulky grass idea, they are just weak to too many moves and even a bulky varient wont last too long. So really i would suggest anyone else you want to include, try to give them HP grass or another powerful grass move or you will be kicking youself everytime a swampert shows up, or if not then give Genesect HP grass instead of thunderbolt, it still hits bulky waters (or if your serperior replacement can learn any of the moves genesect has then replace that one).

You're doing Serperior wrong. He's not bulky enough to be a tank. If you want to keep Serperior, you gotta go with his Perversity set. It's not really bulky, but it kinda of slaughters things which is nice.

Serperior (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Perversity
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Satk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
-Leaf Storm
-HP Ice
-Substitute
-Leech Seed

This set is just excellent.

However, if you don't want Serperior and still want a bulky grass...then, well, Ferrothorn is the best option haha.

You're using Genesect so edit your title to include the [Dream World] tag.
Ok, sorry.

Hmm. I was thinking about Starmie to replace Serperior but that would leave me with 2 Life Orb users. I'm still not sure.

You're right about him not being an effective tank. I will definitely try this set though!
