OU Mixed

I've been working on a nice mixed offense and defense OU team lately, and here's what I have got(note: take into account this is my first RMT post and I hope it is good)

Lead

Gyarados (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall

Awsome lead.Just plain awsome.Focus Sash Gaurentees that I get in my earthquake on electric types, or my waterfall on rock types. Other straight up physical leads get scared when they see intimidate getting in their way of setting up and sweeping(at least for a bit), and with pretty much perfect type coverage, this one is one of my favorites.

Core

Chandelure (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic

In case you haven't noticed it's special attack with Specs is 844 for mine, this is one case of gigantic sweeping capabilities. With 2 good STABs and both Energy Ball and Psychic to take care of some potential weaknesses and neutral hits. This one is my favorite, and and awsome sweeper, though I am considering some changes to the moveset and item.

Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Crunch

Yes, this T-Tar does have a fashion sense. CScarf to majorly help the sweeping capabilities, 2 great STABS and an epic move to boot, even with pursuit to catch the opponent, what could be better? Plus, a nice ability to go with, which also helps out 2 of my other pokemon, increasing both of their SpeDes.

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed
- Curse

Support plus a curse tank with gyro ball. This is my favorite set on ferrothorn yet, but I think I might change it if I need too. Still, when it comes time for the curse tank, this one really rocks a lot of opponents, even if gyro ball is not very effective.
Sandstorm D-Fence

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Ice Fang
- Protect
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance

Taking on the opponent with good stats in all 3 defenses is very important. Speed is for other Gliscor running similar sets. SDef is for increasing that not-so-good stat to amazing, especially when sandstorm boosted. Def is for raising that great stat even higher. HP is for, well you know what it is for. Atk is for taking all 3 attack moves and giving them a great boost. I think I might run toxic orb and poison heal, but I'm not sure.

2-and-2

Jellicent (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Recover
- Surf
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball

This one is for bulk and a great special tank. Recover provides an almost impenitrable special wall, while the 2 STAB moves can take care of many pokemon I could switch into, and with Will-O-Wisp to get rid of pysical opposition, Jellicent is a great addition to any team, at least in my opinion.

Conclusion

To conclude, my mixed team is there to provide a balence between offense and defense that is very hard to beat. I am looking to make changes, along with add and remove pokemon from my team as I see fit. All suggustions are extremely appriciated.

Thanks again :0)
All non 5th gen pics are from this site, jellicent fromhttp://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Jellicent_(Pok%C3%A9mon) ferrothorn fromhttp://battlingfactory.blogspot.com/2011/04/pokemon-10-chandelure.html , and Chandelure from http://battlingfactory.blogspot.com/2011/04/pokemon-10-chandelure.html

Alright, two suggestions. First, your Ferrothorn doesn't have any way to recover lost hp, which is a bit of a problem if you want some good staying power and a pivot for your Chandelure and Tyranitar, since Ferro can switch in on a lot of threatening attacks. Here is a possible set you could run:

Ferrothorn@ Leftovers
EVs: 252HP / 128Def / 128SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
Gyro Ball
Leech Seed
Spikes
Protect

I realize your losing out on rocks, so you could possibly switch Brick Break for Stealth Rock on your gliscor. Also, if your running facade, you should be using the poison heal set.

I like this team, and agree with tackjj. I think it would be better if you had leech seed on your Ferrothorn instead of rocks.

Your team is generally too slow. If i were you i'd scarf Chandelure otherwise it is way too slow (base 80) it stills devastating on Scarf (we're still talking about 428 Sp. Atk). I've been running a Ferrothorn with Gyro Ball/Leech Seed/Thunder Wave/Stealth Rock and it has been working wonders. Oh, btw, any physical attacker destroys your team since you chose that weird build of Gliscor. I'd certainly go for a more defensive one:

Toxic Orb - Poison Heal - Impish
252 HP - 72 Speed - 184 Def
Earthquake - Ice Fang - Protect - Swords Dance

Pretty good team.

Gyarados: Good, although running taunt over Stone Edge to stop SR or TR set-up should be considered.

Chandelure: It can't really sweep since a ton of things can outspeed it. I recommend a Timid nature over Modest. It can still deal out major pain since its specs.

Tyranitar: Pretty standard, it seems to flow with the team nicely.

Ferrothorn: I'm pretty sure it was a typo, but you may want to revise its EV spread. I would also take out some Defense EVs and throw them into Attack. To add on to the above posts, Leech Seed over SR is the way to go.

Gliscor: Run the Poison Heal set if you are going to use facade. Keep in mind Roost isn't permitted to be used in tandem with Poison Heal since its a DW ability and Roost is an egg move in 5th gen. If you stick with Hyper Cutter, get rid of Facade and use SR instead.

Jellicent: Pretty standard set, no change there. It gives you a break from using Blissey. XD

Other than that, I have nothing else to say. Good luck building a team that can rack up a lot of wins. I hope I helped.

As others have said great job on the team. Everyone else seems to have given solid advice so far so my contribution will be small. In your writeup you mention Gliscor getting a special defense boost I only wish to clarify that rock types get a special defense boost in a sandstorm not gliscor who is ground/flying.

Stern- You're right, only rock types get the boost and gliscor is ground/flying, and I think I will run the poison heal set on Gliscor and change the EVs for Ferrothorn. Thanks for the help. Also, I think I will put a choice scarf on Chandelure, giving me a better sweeper. Thanks again and any other new suggustions are appriciated.

Okay, I have this team in place on PO but I get my butt kicked by a lot of people and I don't know what to do. I even followed your suggustions. Any ideas?

Id suggest getting a sure fire counter for swords dance cobalion with HP ice. A lot of the time these things carry the air balloon which makes EQ from scarftar useless. I suggest putting a scarf on Chandlure as well because although it hits like a truck with specs, its a good check to cobalion and its generally a good revenge killer.

Okay, I have a major problem with Scrafty. Anyone know a good counter that fits? I really like this team but I keep losing with it.

I've used Scrafty before, the thing that stops him is Skarm with whirlwind and taunt. I suggest it over Ferrothorn, hope this helped!

Okay, I've tried Skarmory, Togekiss, and Blissey in exchange for Gliscor, Ferrothorn, and Jellicent respectively. Also, I tried Rotom-W for Jellicent, and Togekiss with para-flinch is the only one that has worked. Any ideas?

As i stated before, your team is generally too slow. Why don't you specify a list of your threats so we can actually work specifically?

Point is that your team plays too defensivelly without being a constant threat. I'd honestly cut Jellicent from the core since Ferrothorn and Gyarados love eachother badly. If you want another defensive wall run RestTalk Gyarados, it is simply a huge pain to beat down and play Ttar as Lead. Chandelure must be scarfed, even though it is easy to fall for the 800+ Sp. Atk, it is useless if you get OHKO by any threat with Earthquake, even though, due to its weakness to Stealth Rock you won't be able to switch Chandelure in much.

So, yes, there's a lot to think about. If you want to beat Scrafty just play something with a fighting move, if you want a new lead and use RestTalk Gyarados, use Naive Regenerator Life Orb Mienshao 252Atk/4Sp.Atk/252Speed U-Turn/Fake Out/HP Ice/Hi Jump Kick.

Okay, I am now trying a Jolteon in exchange for Chandelure for speed with Baton Pass+3 attacks(T-bolt, HP ice, and Shadow Ball) for speed, but I have a major problem with Omastar and finding a good wall to replace Jellicent, or a defensive sweeper to match Togekiss. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. To add to my troubles, I just got most of my team beat by a Bisharp, which I only have Togekiss with aura sphere for. Again, thanks a ton for any ideas. Just to let you guys know, this team with Jolteon instead of Chandelure and Togekiss instead of Gliscor has capped at about 600 on PO for Smogon server, but I'm hoping to hit top 100. Okay, I just got 5-0ed by a Cm Verizion even with Air Slash from Togekiss. Ideas?

Any bulky water will just plain out rape the guts out of your team. Milotic for example surf, ice beam and hp electric will rape your team.
