I've been working on a nice mixed offense and defense OU team lately, and here's what I have got(note: take into account this is my first RMT post and I hope it is good)
Lead
Gyarados (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
Awsome lead.Just plain awsome.Focus Sash Gaurentees that I get in my earthquake on electric types, or my waterfall on rock types. Other straight up physical leads get scared when they see intimidate getting in their way of setting up and sweeping(at least for a bit), and with pretty much perfect type coverage, this one is one of my favorites.
Core
Chandelure (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Flamethrower
- Energy Ball
- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
In case you haven't noticed it's special attack with Specs is 844 for mine, this is one case of gigantic sweeping capabilities. With 2 good STABs and both Energy Ball and Psychic to take care of some potential weaknesses and neutral hits. This one is my favorite, and and awsome sweeper, though I am considering some changes to the moveset and item.
Core
Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Crunch
Yes, this T-Tar does have a fashion sense. CScarf to majorly help the sweeping capabilities, 2 great STABS and an epic move to boot, even with pursuit to catch the opponent, what could be better? Plus, a nice ability to go with, which also helps out 2 of my other pokemon, increasing both of their SpeDes.
Hazard Core
Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Sassy Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed
- Curse
Support plus a curse tank with gyro ball. This is my favorite set on ferrothorn yet, but I think I might change it if I need too. Still, when it comes time for the curse tank, this one really rocks a lot of opponents, even if gyro ball is not very effective.
Sandstorm D-Fence
Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Ice Fang
- Protect
- Earthquake
- Swords Dance
Taking on the opponent with good stats in all 3 defenses is very important. Speed is for other Gliscor running similar sets. SDef is for increasing that not-so-good stat to amazing, especially when sandstorm boosted. Def is for raising that great stat even higher. HP is for, well you know what it is for. Atk is for taking all 3 attack moves and giving them a great boost. I think I might run toxic orb and poison heal, but I'm not sure.
2-and-2
Jellicent (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Recover
- Surf
- Will-O-Wisp
- Shadow Ball
This one is for bulk and a great special tank. Recover provides an almost impenitrable special wall, while the 2 STAB moves can take care of many pokemon I could switch into, and with Will-O-Wisp to get rid of pysical opposition, Jellicent is a great addition to any team, at least in my opinion.
Conclusion
To conclude, my mixed team is there to provide a balence between offense and defense that is very hard to beat. I am looking to make changes, along with add and remove pokemon from my team as I see fit. All suggustions are extremely appriciated.
Thanks again :0)
