Combos in UU

Hey, so pokemon combos are always useful in all tiers. So what are some good combos you've been using. Please list full sets of both pokemon. The best combos will be edited into the OP.

Incredibly useful tool (Credit goes to Mispy for making it)

Defensive combos:
Empoleon+Zapdos

Spr_5b_395.png

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Calm
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
--Scald
--Stealth Rock
--Roar
--Toxic / Ice Beam
Spr_5b_145.png

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Bold
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
--Thunderbolt
--HP Ice
--Roost
--Toxic / Roar

Empoleon has a great specially defensive set, and Zapdos has a great physically defensive set. Together, they have fantastic synergy. Zapdos can take the ground, fighting, and electric attacks aimed at Empoleon, and Empoleon can take the Ice and Rock attacks aimed at Zapdos. Empoleon has Stealth Rock, which is good because there is a lot of switching involved with this combo. In addition, Empoleon can provide burn support which takes the edge off of the physical attacks Zapdos takes.
Chansey+Dusclops

Chansey @ Eviolite
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold
--Wish
--Protect
--Seismic Toss
--Toxic

Dusclops @ Eviolite
4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Bold
--Pain Split
--Night Shade
--Will-O-Wisp
--Taunt

A wicked pair of assholes with Eviolites. Chansey completely walls every special threat, Dusclops completely walls every physical threat. Both are capable of supporting each other. Aside from the fact that one soaks up physical hits and one soaks up special hits, they also provide other support. Chansey's wishes can completely heal Dusclops's health (allowing Dusclops to invest in both defenses instead of in HP. Although normal pokemon should normally invest in HP, it differs on Eviolite pokemon). Chansey can Toxic stall with Toxic (obviously) and Protect, which is also used for Wish. Dusclops can burn pokemon, making things easier on both pokemon but particularly Chansey. It can Taunt other pokemon to prevent becoming set-up bait, and finally it is capable of healing itself with Pain Split, but it can be unreliable. They cover each other's weaknesses quite well, except for Dusclops's weakness to Dark attacks. It's particularly fun to bring Dusclops in on Hitmontop's HJK.

Bisharp+Mismagius

429MS.png

Bisharp @ Life Orb
Adamant
252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
--Swords Dance
--Sucker Punch
--Iron Head
--Brick Break
Spr_5b_429.png

Mismagius @ Life Orb
Timid
252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spe
--Substitute
--Nasty Plot
--Shadow Ball
--Thunderbolt / HP Fighting

Two boosting sweepers, one physical and one special. The two work so well together mostly because one can safely switch in and force out all of the counters of the other. For example, although SubPlot Missy can't handle Chansey, Bisharp can switch in and use the free turn of set up. And likewise, Mismagius can take out any Hitmontop facing Bisharp (worrying about Hitmontop's Sucker Punch? Use it as set up bait!). They cover each others' weaknesses almost perfectly (Mismagius is neutral to Fire), meaning that Mismagius can take all fighting or ground attacks (particularly HJKs), and Bisharp can take any ghost or dark attacks. Mismagius can run Thunderbolt to plow through some bulky waters that give Bisharp trouble, but HP Fighting has better coverage.

hey i know I haven't really done this a whole lot but im going to come back and add to the OP a bit. If you're going to suggest a duo, please explain. I can understand stuff like Jolteon+Staraptor, but I don't get the Dugtrio+Espeon one. Also, Yanmega+Sharpedo. Dual Speed boosting action. One's physical and one's special, so it's hard to wall.

This is a good offensive sweeping combo I've been using:

Azelf @ Life Orb
4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Timid
-Nasty Plot
-Psyshock
-Thunderbolt
-Shadow Ball/Fire Blast

Kingdra @ leftovers
4 HP / 252 SpAtk / 252 Spe
Modest
-Rain Dance
-Hydro Pump
-Dragon Pulse
-Substitue

After a Nasty Plot, Azelf hits incredibly hard. It can smash through stall pokes very well, but dies to anything faster than it, scarfed, or with priority. Thats where Kingdra helps. After a Rain Dance, Kingdra out-speeds all those faster pokes (Weavile, Aerodactyl, Crobat, Scarf Heracross, Scarf Staraptor to name a few) and KOs them with a rain boosted Hydro Pump. However, with only temporary and selective offensive boost, Kingdra fails to get through the majority of stall, which is were Azelf helps.

Chansey + Slowbro is awesome, the reason they're better that Chansey + Dusclops is because Clops doesn't have reliable recovery while Slowbro has it automaticly after switching, still dusclpos is better as a heracross counter

I can't say Cofagrigus has an overly short life. CM and perfect coverage make it easy to run a set of Rest/CM/Shadow Ball/HP Fighting to great effect, especially with Cofagrigus' idiotically high defence.

In any case, I'm not sure that Cof and Slaking is the most... er... effective strategy. Slaking already has huge inherent issues with its normal-typing; that it's outsped and very much hurt by things like Scarf Heracross and Scarf Staraptor is not the best. Being weak to the most common priority in the tier does it no good either.

That warstory that was posted recently had Slowbro+Tangrowth as a physically defensive core (H ran Chansey alongside it). The idea was to keep switching between those two.

Also, Rotom H+Flygon. YES. FLYGON. Really, why do I never see it anymore. It's still one of the best scouts/U-Turners of UU. Oh wait. Staraptor. Duh.

Roserade+Arcanine+Milotic is both an offensive and defensive core.

2 trios
Empoleon and gligar
Chansey and gligar

Gligar can take fight, ground and electric hits aimed at it's partners who can takenice and water hits for him

Arcanine and Hitmontop return from Gen 4 to make a solid Double Intimidate physical defensive core. Hitmontop sponges Stone Edges thrown Arcanine's way and spins the hazards out. The only really threatening physical attack between the two is Earthquake.

Can anybody think of a good offensive partner for Honchkrow?

Honchkrow and Mismagius make excellent offensive partners and are great UU sweepers in their own right.
-Honchkrow hits the physical end of the spectrum and can take the weaker Dark and Ghost moves aimed for MM and rack up a kill starting its sweep.
-MM can hit specially and destroy most of the walls for Honchkrow, while also setting up on the Chanseys/Steels for her own sweep.
-The problem with this pairing is that it is really strictly offense, since neither are lasting particularily long while being hit...

I was actually on my way to this forum to post that. ^_^

Mismagius also makes a good partner for Bisharp, although sadly Bisharp's IDEAL partner is Gengar, a tier too high to use with him.

Bisharp is one of the only pokemon in the game that x4 resists Ghost and Dark moves, Mismagius's only weaknesses, while Mismagius is immune to ground and fighting, two of Bisharp's most critical weaknesses. As a physical/special duo, they're also fairly hard to wall working together. They fit in pretty well with the Arcanine/Milotic/Roserade core, too, since Arcanine and/or Milotic can both absorb fire attacks Bisharp attracts, and Bisharp can take flying moves aimed at Roserade pretty well. It also gives the group a dragon resist, which is nice.
