Team Building Process~
So making this team I knew I wanted a SandStorm team. So that brought the choice of two pokemon Tyranitar or Hippowdon. I wanted to try Hippowdon this time around for the extra bulk.

450.gif

Now I need a sweeper to abuse the weather I have put up. The choice was between Landorus and Excadrill. I always loved Excadrill a lot more so he was my choice.

450.gif
530.gif

Now I needed a core that covers eachothers weaknesses. I also found that if I run Gliscor I am no longer afraid of Excadrill. So then I can run Adamant Excadrill and deal much more damage. I chose the standard but rare Latios/Rotom-W/Gliscor core. It works like a charm too :D.

Now I need a revenger, I wanted one with relative bulk though. I thought about Garchomp, Scizor, Terrakion and a few others. But over Banded Scizor won in my eyes. It traps other Lati@s that otherwise pose a threat, and it tears through most any pokemon at low health with a priority Bullet Punch, he is a force to be reckoned with.

Soon Scizor wasn't enough to stop Lati@s and other Psychics. Whether it was from overprediction or crits, it didn't fufill it's job well enough So I replaced Hippowdon with Tyranitar and it was such a huge fix. Easily bumped my ladder rank by dozens of points.

At a Closer Glance~

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 176 HP / 132 Atk / 48 SAtk / 144 SDef / 8 Spd
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Fire Blast

This Tyranitar has great bulk and gets Stealth Rocks out reliably. Pursuit is an interesting option, and is a great trapping move and helps to limit the number of times the opposing weather inducer can switch in and out, having to be hit once on the switch in and once on the switch out, thus allowing me to more than likely win the weather battle. The EV's and nature help to be slower than all oppsing weather starters and have Standstorm out at the beginning of the battle. Due to his typing he has quite a large pool of weaknesses that needed to be covered by the rest of my team.

530.gif

Excadrill (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Return

Excadrill is my main answer to many things my team was weak to, more specificly Thundurus. My team was weak to set up pokemon that use moves like Dragon Dance and Quiver Dance to sweep because I had no way to outspeed them and they could just tear through my team. Excadrill fuffils the role of countering Thundurus, Haxorus, Opposing Excadrill (Without Air Balloon), Volcarona, and weakened Latios well. He also functions great as a mid game offensive mon by applying pressure early on, posing an immediate threat with his great coverage and 405 attack stat. Even more effectively though, he is a great late game sweeper once his counters have been eliminated. This is a pretty standard Excadrill and it works really well.

381.gif

Latios (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 176 HP / 80 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Recover

I don't have much to say about this Latios, it is a quick switch into most pokemon who run at the thought. The only real problem with this set is it is completly walled by Tyranitar. So it works well with the rest of my team that easily faces Tyranitar.

Spr_5b_479W.png

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 140 HP / 252 SAtk / 116 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-o-Wisp
- Pain Split

Rotom-W is a great counter to the bulky waters in this metagame. But what I think is best is that he still kept his fantastic support move pool through Will-O-Wisp and Pain Split. Both great moves that aid my entire team. Rotom-W is my main rain man. Being able to take on even a SpecsToed Hydro Pump and Pain Split his way back to the top of health. It also softens up Ferrothorns that make think it is a safe switch in with Will-O-Wisp. It also occasionally catches enemy dragons like Latios and Latias which can get annoying if they evade status for to long and whittle down Jirachi and Tyranitar. Rotom-W also preforms well as a bit of a back up counter to Land Genie and a solid counter to Gliscor and Mamoswine if I play careful.

472.gif

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Ice Fang

Despite its defensively leaning stats, Gliscor functions superbly as a bulky sweeper. Swords Dance allows Gliscor to boost its Attack to sky-high levels in just one turn, and its great natural bulk makes it easy to shrug off hits as Gliscor is setting up. Even with such an offensive moveset, Gliscor is still one of the few Pokemon who is able to counter some menacing physical threats, namely Excadrill and Conkeldurr. As such, being able to function as both a stallbreaker and reliable wall at the same time is a unique quality that separates Gliscor from most other Pokemon.

212.gif

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- U-turn
- Pursuit

The menace from DPP returns, and retains its status as a top-tier Pokemon. U-turn is the crux of this set, allowing Scizor to deal out huge damage to incoming Pokemon and maintain momentum, scouting the switch-in and grabbing a favorable match-up. Choice Band-boosted Bullet Punch is incredibly powerful even with no setup, and allows Scizor to revenge kill many dangerous threats such as Salamence locked into Outrage, Choice Scarf Hydreigon and "Double Booster" Terrakion

Importable~

Well, this is basically the most standard team you could possibly make this gen. If you're going to run that set on Latios, you should use Latias instead for a bit more bulk. Also, I like to use Bulky SD Scizor rather than CB Scizor this gen, but that's just personal preference.

yea he ^^ is absolutly correct, all you are missing is a ferrothorn and a conkldurr and you have all of the most over used of OU, theres nothing really to rate here, this team has been done a million times before

Does look like a very common type of team, but you definitely know how to use it right. Although what do you do against TR Reniculus?

They seem a lot more common.

very standard and no skill involved with making it. im not saying it's bad, im just saying that it needs a bit more creativity, cos people are used to facing teams like this, maybe try to add some different sets, like people have never seen before.
i c that latios is creative, but is it good? latias is better, as Xephyr said. if ur gonna still run cbzor, use 248 hp. it stops extra damage from spikes or SR or something.
also, y run volt switch on rotom if it isn't choiced? u need more power, so run tbolt

Just saying, why is Latios running such a bulky spread? What a waste. If you want to run Latios, it is better to just use 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe, or you're better off running Latias.

My gawd, did you just use the top 6 OU pokes and plonk them into a coherent and successful team? Just goes to show...something.

And arguing for the bulky Latios, it could be to survive Scizor's Bullet Punch and KO with HP Fire, something that Tyranitar cannot do. Rotom-W can fall to +2 Scizor's Bug Bite especially since it's not 252 HP / 252 Def. So, the bulky Latios gives him a sporting chance against all forms of Scizor (except Scarf Scizor but only hipsters use that).

Very nice team, congrats on the high rating. Trick Room Reuniclus is rather threatening with its combination of power, coverage, and (under TR) speed, but a simple item change to Chople Berry on Tyranitar will fix this, allowing you to live even a Life Orbed Focus Blast so you can retaliate with a Crunch. While you won't be able to outright KO, the chance of the opponent hitting two consecutive 70% accuracy moves isn't very likely. If they do manage to hit both, you can easily revenge kill with Scizor.

I noticed your rather odd Latios set; it is outclassed by Latias due to its higher natural bulk which aids it greatly in setting up and healing off dealt damage. I would try that in place of Latios if you still want a bulky setup sweeper - if you want to keep Latios, I recommend trying a Choice Specs set (Timid, 252 SpA | 252 Spe | 4 Def, Draco Meteor | Dragon Pulse | Surf | Trick) as that is its most effective set in the metagame thanks to its extreme damage output and ability to cripple any walls that can take its attacks.
380.gif
@ Leftovers
Timid | EVs: 252 HP / 92 Def / 196 Spe
Calm Mind | Recover | Dragon Pulse | Hidden Power Fire

The max speed is wasted if you're running HP Fire; since it requires a lowered speed IV, you won't ever be able to speed tie with opposing Lati@s. The speed EVs outrun Jolly Garchomp, max HP is for the best overall durability, and the rest goes into defense to bolster Latias' weaker defensive stat while setting up.
I recommend trying Air Balloon over Life Orb and X-Scissor > Return on Excadrill. You rely on him to check alot of various mons and LO wearing you down could very well be your downfall. +2 X-Scissor will still get you the KO on Slowbro after SR damage, and it acts as an emergency Reuniclus / Lati@s check. Next, Gliscor wants 244 HP, dropping the remaining EVs into speed. This will not only give you a Poison Heal number, but it will also let you outrun nearly all other Glis! The last change I'm going to recommend is a spread of 248 HP / 44 Atk / 216 SpD with a Careful nature on Scizor. You're going to need the special defense investment for countering Lati@s, and with the CB, the power loss isn't too huge. That's all I can really suggest; I hope you take these changes into consideration, good team and good luck!
