Sandstorm has always been my favorite since 3rd Gen.
I decided to make a weather team now since everyone has one >.> and it's hard to compete without one.
From a Glance:
Team Building
I chose him over Hippowdon because many Hippowdons are very predictable and standard. Stealth Rock, Slack Off, Earthquake, Toxic/Roar/Ice Fang. UGH.
Now I bet you're thinking: EXCADRILL. King of Sandstorm teams, and never fails to sweep.
NO. I HATE EXCADRILL. I chose Rotom-W as my Excadrill counter, because it can pretty much wall any attack from it and can send it away with a Will-O-Wisp or Hydro Pump.
SkarmBliss was just a very awesome combination ever since 3rd Gen. I decided to use it to safely switch into things.
I also chose SkarmBliss > FerroCent because Ferrothorn is complete unoriginal, even more than SkarmBliss. And all Ferrothorns are paired with Jellicent because they cover each other's weaknesses. But no.
Garchomp was my revenge killer of my team. Boasting a enormous 359 Attack with Jolly and 499 Speed, Garchomp became top-tier.
Landorus, next to Excadrill and Garchomp, was the king of Sandstorm. With a great 125/115/101 offensive stats, Landorus became a great Pokemon to my team.
I needed another Excadrill counter. I went with Conkeldurr because of an amazingly strong Mach Punch and the standard Bulk Up set became a great late game clean up for my team. I figured Bliss didn't get much work anyway, so she had to go.
Rotom wasn't working. Breloom also carries Mach Punch, the only 100% sleep move, and two amazing abilities.
I needed a special attacker. I chose Empoleon for his many weaknesses including Water, Ice, Dragon, and Rock. (And more.)
Garchomp got banned. UGHHHHHHHHHHH
It's like 4th Gen all over again.
Jolteon became a prime revenge killer to stop Serperior from raping my entire team.
Jolteon wasn't really working out. I went with Latios because of the important Ground and Fighting resistances that my team desperately needs.
So please read and feel free to criticize, because I need some help with this team. Thank you.

The Team
Tyranitar @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Impish Nature (+Def, -SpA)
252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
- Crunch
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
Tyranitar was a beast ever since it came out, and still lives up to it's reputation today. Amazing bulk and ability, movepool, and just an amazing Pokemon in general, Tyranitar is no slouch. Crunch is my main STAB move paired with Stone Edge. Stealth Rocks are very very important. Thunder Wave? Yes. It cripples many leads like Cloyster and they never expect it either. My EV spread is very very bulky, sporting 404 HP / 350 Def / 355 SpD (Due to Rock type SpD boost in Sandstorm).
I can survive a 0 Atk EV Tyranitar Superpower and cripple it back with Thunder Wave and switch to an appropriate counter. Tyranitar's bulk almost always lets me set up Stealth Rocks, so don't need a Sash.
Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Jolly Nature (+Spe, -SpA)
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Spore
- Seed Bomb
- Mach Punch
- Stone Edge
Breloom's awesome ability basically means it still recovers HP in Sandstorm. Breloom is one of four carriers of Spore and uses it effectively. Seed Bomb is my main STAB. I chose Mach Punch over Drain Punch because I figured I needed it more for opposing Excadrill. Stone Edge deals with Flying types.
I chose Stone Edge over Swords Dance because Breloom isn't really too fast to sweep.
Landorus @ Salac Berry
Ability: Sand Force
Hasty Nature (+Spe, -SpD)
252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 SpA
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Hidden Power Ice
- Substitute
Amazing QuakeEdge Combo boosted by Sand Force. Hidden Power Ice you say? THE BEST GLISCOR COUNTER EVER. I love facing Gliscors just to see them die from a unexpected Hidden Power Ice. It can OHKO most variants of Gliscor (252/0) and can probably 2HKO Specially defensive Careful Gliscor. Substitute is my SubSalac and I pull off the sweep after I get that boost.
Conkeldurr @ Leftovers
Ability: Guts
Careful Nature (+SpD, -SpA)
196 HP / 60 Atk / 252 SpD
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Payback
Need I say more?
Max SpD and 400 HP makes me a great tank. Bulk Up boosts my Attack and Defense, making it harder to take this beast down. Drain Punch helps restore my HP and Mach Punch is priority. Payback hits Ghosts and Psychics. This is one of the best Excadrill counters, and one of my only Ferrothorn counters as well.
Empoleon @ Petaya Berry
Ability: Torrent
Modest Nature (+SpA, -Atk)
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot
- Agility
Agility with 3 Attacks. I feel SubPetaya is a waste because Empoleon takes little damage from some attacks anyway and can still perform a sweep without Petaya boost. Surf is only resisted by 3 types: Dragon, Grass, and Water, all of which are covered by Ice and Grass. Agility is pretty obvious here, and I have swept entire teams with this penguin.
Latios @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Hidden Power Fire
- Psychic
Scarf on an already fast Pokemon?
Latios became my revenge killer of the team. Strong and reliable, and always a good choice. Draco Meteor is the strongest Dragon type move, and Latios is probably the best user of it. Surf pairs fairly nice with Dragon. HP Fire is to hit Ferrothorn and Psychic is another source of STAB and helps me deal with Conkeldurr.
Latios became important because of his useful resistances to Fight, Ground, Grass, Water, Fire, and such.
