Team take 2.
Infernape w/ focus sash
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive/Hasty (+Spe -Def/SpD
Ev's-200Spe/200Spa/110Att
-Fake out
-Stealth Rock
-Close Combat
-Fire Blast
Courtesy of Smogon University, this set provides the perfect leadoff pokemon that also completes my type coverage and balances my weaknesses on my team should it survive it's leadership role. Powerful attack types that are good against a ton of common starters. I wanted to fit infernape in somehow, and here we go.
Ferrothorn w/ rocky helmet
Ability: iron barbs
Nature: Careful (+spd -spa)
Ev's-252def/152hp/106spd
-Curse
-Gyro ball
-Power whip
-Leech seed
Powerful physical beast and makes me feel extremely safe when covered by Starmie and Salamance. Great staller and can work with taunts very well with the strong power of gyro ball, which nearly doubles in power after an application of curse due to the attack increase and the speed decrease. Power whip for awesome STAB.
Starmie w/ life orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid (+spe -att)
Ev's: 252spe/252spa/6hp
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Thunderbolt
-Psyshock/Rapid spin
My counter for Heatran and fighting types that would dare hurt Ferrothorn. Psyshock deals with the menace known as Blissey as well as STAB, and the rest provide great type coverage. I'm using multiple Special sweepers to counter my defensive core of Cofagrigus and Umbreon. However, rapid spin is also great because stealth rock destroys Charizard.
Togekiss w/ leftovers
Ability: Serene grace
Nature: Calm (+SpD -Att)
Ev's: 252hp(to maximize wish for party members)/150SpDef/108Def
-Protect
-Air slash
-Wish
-Thunder Wave
Changing the concept from partial-staller to bloody annoying thing. Statuses don't make me that agitated, and this set is just a PAIN. Protect means every other turn I don't get hit. Thunder wave paralyzes=25% no-hit as well as slowing it to allow air slash with a 60% flinching rate. Add wish as a heal and this is my annoyer.
Cofagrigus w/ leftovers
Ability-Mummy
Bold (+def -att)
Ev's-252sdef/100def/158hp
-Will-o-wisp
-Hex
-Power Split
-Rest
With the defensive nature and will-o-wisp, few physical attacks get anywhere. With maxed ev's the special defensive side is taken care of. Power split should cripple the opponent's pokemon offensively along with will-o-wisp. Hex deals damage to the infected.
Salamence w/ Life orb
Ability: Intimidate
Nature: Naive (+Spe -SpD)
Ev's: 252att/252spe/hp
-Earthquake
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Fire Blast
Dragon Dance Ownage Salamence. 'Nuff said. Plus, it covers for Ferrothorn's weaknesses and has, I think, almost perfect type coverage. So happy this one isn't banned.
I have just assembled the idea for this team, and with the exception of ferrothorn and cofagrigus who I trained about a week ago my team has not been made yet, which means I am completely open to suggestions for new pokemon or moves or natures etc. Thanks!
