Note#2: Any suggestions to improve the team is very much welcome! There are many adjustments that I know I could make on it.
Note: I am currently ranked number 48 on Pokemon Online with 1327, and can definitely do better.
So hi, this my my first time that I'll be posting on Smogon, so I hope you'd treat me well ;D. How I thought of this team started when I thought how much I hated hazards to my team, and how badly it crippled my switching, especially of the fact that I love using choiced pokemon. There's a few obvious things that can either get rid of hazards, or prevent them, like taunt and rapid spin, but they can both be prevented. There is 1 move though, that can absolutely obliterate the setting up of SR and Spikes, being magic bounce. So everything I have in this team is based on the fact that I can abuse switching all day every day, with powerful attacking pokemon.
My Team!
This was the first six that I chose to put together, it had great synergy and damage output and it seemed to satisfy.
Due to many suggestions, and the overall better coverage I've decided to switch Sawk for Heracross, since it has great stabs with the same attack base and speed. Though, at times, Sawk would have been preferred due to the need of sturdy, but it's rare. Overall, Heracross is a better pick.
Xatu (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
- Night Shade
- U-turn
This thing is so retarded in UU. With great typing and full investment into physical bulk, it just doesn't die to any physical attackers. All the current UU stealth rockers can't touch Xatu, aside from Empoleon, they basically aren't allowed to set them up with him around, and that's basically all he's here for, aside from the occasional reflecting a status back or twaving. U-turn allows switching to be that much more effective, to get you more of an advantage, though it is extremely fragile to special attackers.
Heracross (M) @ Choice Band Trait: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
- Pursuit
Heracross is just such a monster with a choice band, and ability to constantly to come in. It has a decent base speed, and has a monstrous attack stat, with great STABs that can hit on basically anything that comes in. Dishing out a choice banded Adamant close combat/megahorn completely obliterates anything, even if it's resisted! Heracross is such a monster~
Alakazam (M) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Encore
Alakazam really is just there to be a revenge killer. It's my only real special attacker, and I don't even think it's really needed, but I can't think of anything else to replace it with. At first I tried Murkrow to break stall, but it was just too ass. Usually I just switch this into Slowbro to energy ball it to the face, and a last resort to kill those pesky set-up pokemons that got their setup.
Mamoswine (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Snow Cloak
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Ice Shard
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
Mamoswine is great. It really is great typing for great stab, it hits like a truck, especially with life orb and the fact it can practically hit anything for great damage. Mamoswine is basically here to kill weakened pokemons, and Rotom-H. That thing annoys me to no end, especially when it switches into Xatu to Volt-switch or tbolt. But that's why Mamoswine is here! It's immune to t-bolt, but the will-o-wisp and over heat are annoying, just got to predict right. But yeah, Mamo is so good, powerful stab priority is win, especially with all those pory-gonzs running around.
Victini @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- V-create
- Fusion Bolt
- U-turn
- Zen Headbutt
Everyone knows that Victini's signature move V-Create is RETARDED. 180+ stab ? Who cares if its resisted, it's dead either way. Usually, it's handicapped by those hazards that people putup, but with Xatu here, there are none, with Victini being able to use its full potential. Many times, I find myself scared of running out of pp for V-Create, due to how much I get to use it. It really scares me, and makes me pity the opponent I'm versing.
Empoleon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Stealth Rock
- Scald
- Grass Knot
- Roar
This was EXACTLY what I needed, a stealth rocker of my own and a great special wall. The typing makes it great to take hits, and hit back with a nice scald for the potential of burning the other pokemon. With Roar, nothing can setup on it. Paired with Xatu, it seems unfair how well they work together. Xatu is immune/resisted to the Empoleons possible greatest threats, fighting and earthquake, and Empoleon SPONGES ice moves, and takes even electric moves extremely well, seeing as it usually comes from the special side. It has great synergy, and it works well to counter those pesky slowbros and suicunes.
Note: I am currently ranked number 48 on Pokemon Online with 1327, and can definitely do better.
