The Show Must Go On![OU RMT]

Yeh I change my team alot tbh... But hey its worth it if you wanna get better. And this is the first team I have ever had that doesn't have jolteon in it as I'm trying to not use him anymore even though he is my favorite pokemon he's pretty shit. The only original pokemon I have from my previous team is Infernape and Gliscor. So here it is.

The Team Building Process;

I knew I really wanted these two on my team so I was sure to build a team around them

I alway's need a bulky water on my team and one that can hit hard, Swampert was perfect.

I needed another bulky pokemon and obviously Ferrothorn is just amazing.

I still wanted an Eeveelution as I'm a big fan of Eevee and also someone who can get entry hazards away. Espeon seemed right for the job.

Meet my new favorite pokemon. He blocks Rapid Spin and hits hard. And he looks like The Joker just saying...

So, putting them in the correct order you get:

The Lead
196Espeon.png

Espeon [Cats] (F)@ Light Clay
Ability: Magic Bounce
Nature: Timid
EV's: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
~ Reflect
~ Light Screen
~ Hidden Power[Fighting]
~ Psychic

Oh Espeon, what a marvelous pokemon you have become. Thanks to Magic Bounce, she has become a lot better, and I mean a lot better. In my opinion, I think she's better than any old Rapid Spinner, but that is just my opinion. Thank to her high speed and quite good special defence, she can set up Reflect and Light Screen very well. HP[Fighting] deals with the popular leads such as Tyranitar and Ferrothorn. Psychic is for a clear STAB.

The Physical Wall
260ut3_display.png

Swampert [HydroQuake] (M)@ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Relaxed
EV's: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpD
~ Stealth Rock
~ Ice Beam
~ Earthquake
~ Scald

Basically, he set's up Stealth Rock and takes hits while hitting the opponent hard. Ice Beam handles Dragons and Grass types. Scald is for STAB and a possible chance of burning the opponent. Earthquake is also for STAB. Just a great simple pokemon.

The Special Wall

Ferrothorn [ThornPod] (M)@ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
Nature: Sassy
EV's: 252 HP / 48 Atk / 208 SpD
~ Spikes
~ Leech Seed
~ Gyro Ball
~ Power Whip

The God of the metagame at the moment and for a good reason. Amazing bulk and power really does get you far in this gen. And with Rocky Helmet and Iron Barbs, any opponent that uses a physical attack will be in deep shit. Set's up Spikes, gets Leech Seed up and running and then he begins to show everyone his true power. A max power Gyro Ball is amazing and STAB Power Whip works wonders too. Gamefreak really have made an amazing pokemon.

The Physical Attacker

Gliscor [Bats] (M)@ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
Nature: Impish
EV's: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spe
~ Swords Dance
~ Earthquake
~ Ice Fang
~ Taunt

Now this is where the battle starts to get fun! After everything's set up Gliscor comes in to get some sweeps down, and with his bulk he can be hard to stop. After at least one Sword Dance, he will be able to 2HKO/OHKO any dragon type after Stealth Rock and possibly Spikes damage. STAB Earthquake can handle a lot of pokemon after Sword Dance also. Taunt stops pokemon in their tracks and helps him sweep easier.

The Special Attacker/Spin Blocker
200px-585px-094Gengar.png

Gengar [Joker] (M)@ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EV's: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Substitute
~ Thunderbolt
~ Shadow Ball
~ Focus Blast

Ohh this pokemon is so cool I love it! I'm using his classic set for a good reason, Thunderbolt. I need to take care of Gyarados and various other water types. Substitute is obvious for this set. Shadow Ball is for a good hard STAB. Focus Blast deals with Steel types. Just love this guy.

The Mixed Attacker
Infernape.png

Infernape [BlazeKill] (M)@ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive
EV's: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
~ Overheat
~ Close Combat
~ Mach Punch
~ Stone Edge

The Mixed Attacker who can break walls easily and cleans up the match. STAB Overheat OHKO's steel types easily. STAB Close Combat does the same but also handles dark types. Mach Punch hits scarf pokemon and weather teams. Stone Edge handles varios Dragon/Flying types.

Thanks guys :)

Hi

You seem to have a bit of trouble handling weather teams. Venusaur in the Sun for example has a big chance of sweeping your team completely. I can also see Volcarona be a problem, especially if it gets a Quiver Dance up against Ferrothorn The easiest way to solve these problems is by using a Choice Scarf Infernape over your current one. With a Scarf Infernape outspeed Venusaur and the likes despite the Chlorophyll boost, +1 Volcarona, ....

I would also like to suggest a Jirachi instead of your Espeon to fix the remaining issues. TR and CM Reuniclus, CM Latias, etc. are all a potential problem for you. I don't see Dual Screen Espeon doing much for your team anyway other then preventing hazards (Gliscor can take status as well). Nothing on your team is really weak to SR but Jirachi can still offer Wish support to keep them healthy if you're worried about it. A good moveset is Thunder Wave / Iron Head / Wish / Protect or Stealth Rock. The paralysis support can come in handy when you're trying to set-up and sweep with Gliscor or Gengar. If you opt for Stealth Rock on Jirachi you could replace it on Swampert with Roar so you can deal with Baton Pass teams more easily.

And as a last nitpick I suggest a slightly different EV spread on your Gliscor. With a spread of 244 HP / 176 Def / 88 Spe you'll get maximum Poison Heal recovery and you will also be able to outspeed opposing "standard" Gliscor sets, who could be somewhat of a problem as well if you loose your Swampert.

Hope this helps and good luck with the team.

You seem to have a bit of trouble handling weather teams.

Just to piggy back on what Delko said, you have a weakness to weather teams. Tornadurs on rain teams can OHKO everything except Swampert with either Hurricane or Focus Blast. Roar on Swampert would be able to somewhat fix this problem with rocks set up. A priority move on Infernape like Mach Punch, would also help to finish off weakened Scarfed sets. I don't see what Screens really does for your team, and Espeon is to fragile and not fast enough to effectively set up screens. As Delko requested, Jirachi is an excellent replacement for Espeon, although you could also try CM Latias, who can greatly help your team to inflict damage with your already established area hazards, by using Roar. Calm Mind will allow you to check Reniclus and many other threats, while you can Roar away Pokes that stat boost. The first spread is the standard, but the second is able to make Latias extremely bulky so it doesn't become Pursuit bait, and then can Roar away. With your team, I would suggest the Bulky set over the standard so that it will have a wider role.

Latias @ Leftovers
252 Hp/252 Spe/4 Sp. Def OR 252 Hp/252 Def/4 Spe
Timid--------------------------------Bold
-Calm Mind
-Roost
-Roar
-Dragon Pulse

Hi thanks for the advice guys really apreciate it:)
First off, i can see what you mean about the weather problem so Im going to change infernapes u-turn to mach punch to handle sun teams that have chlorophyls
To be honest i really need espeon to get rid of the block the entry hazards and get the screens up to help the team stay alive.
On that note, idk what to do about swampert as i need scald but roar is also essential. So i think ill stay with scald atm but i shall experiment with roar also:)

Would heatran help more than infernape with this set;

Heatran@ Life Orb
Ability: Flash Fire
Nature: Timid
EV's: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
~ Fire Blast
~ Earth Power
~ Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Grass
~ Stealth Rock

I was just thinking this because with Heatran he has decent bulk and massive power and he can learn Stealth Rock which means Swampert could get Rawr. I just need to decide which Hidden Power is suitable, maybe Ice. Any comments?
