"It's cold out here.." (Hail team)

The title of this post is a reference to a story told on "The Opie and Anthony Show" by the late, Great, Patrice O'neal. R.I.P

I get bored easily, and decided to make a OU team with a mechanic that most people consider the worst weather type in OU, and that's hail/snow warning. Even with Ice body Regice banned in OU, I still think weather based Ice teams play well. It's no where as easy to play as something such as sandstream or drizzle based team, but I believe a defensive team that checks a good amount checks against the OU helps play around it.

The current team...

Weather Starter - Sub/Seeder - Obamasnow/Abomasnow
Sassy - Leftovers - Snow Warning
EV Spread - 4 HP, 252 Def, 252 Sp.Def
Leech Seed
Protect
Substitute
Ice Shard

Main Lead. I dislike Abomasnow with Sash. It's awful, which is why I think Hail teams tend to do bad. Good thing about him is that he does beat the drizzle starter, Politoad. Sub seeding seems to be the best option. Only issue I have is its awful typing, and how it can't do a damn thing against pokes like Ferrothorn. It has really bad matchups with tytar, ninetails, ape, Con-durr, and heatran. But, it's a weather starter, so it has good usage out of that.

Rock Setup/Sp.Def Wall - Hotchips/Heatran
Calm - Leftovers - Flash Fire
EV Spread -252 HP, 248 Sp.Def, 8 Spe
Lava Plume
Earth Power
Stealth Rock
Roar

EDIT- Changed around the EV Spread of Heatran
My anti fire type poke, my sp.def wall, and my stealth rock setup. Heatran is godlike and works well in a hail team. Perfect check against those pesky fire types and helps me setup those very important rocks. Gave it some ev's in sp.atk just to give it a bit more offense. I use a lot of hazards on this team, so roar is a no brainier. No need to go on.

Toxic Spiker - Secondary Lead - Brainiac/Tentacruel
Calm - Black Sludge - Liquid Ooze
EV Spread - 252 HP, 208 Def, 48 Spe
Scald
Toxic Spikes
Rapid Spin
EDIT - Hex

EDIT- Replaced sludge bomb with Hex and changed it's EV Spread completely..
Fantastic Rapid spinner and setter upper for t-spikes. He has also fantastic synergy with Abomasnow and heatran. He's a great lead against drizzle teams with the exception of Specs Politoad with HP electric. Rapid spinning against Rocks is especially important due to how rocks cripple this team very hard.

ashs_gliscor.jpg

Defensive/Swords Dancer - Douchey Poke - DoucheChill/Gliscor
Impish - Toxic Orb - Poison Heal
EV Spread - 252 HP, 184 Def, 72 Spe
Earthquake
Taunt
Protect
Facade

Gliscor makes perfect sense with this team. I was thinking of using skarmory at first, but decided that since fighting types check this team pretty well, Gliscor does well against them much more than Skarm. I use the swords dance set as I don't really have anything too physical on this team, while still maintaining that solid defense. I also choose firefang as this team has many checks with ice moves.

EP272_Scizor_de_Gary_usando_ataque_r%C3%A1pido.jpg

Choice Banded - Offensive RK - Hard Body/Scizor
Adamant - Choice Band - Technician
EV Spread - 248 HP, 252 Attk, 8 Spe
Pursuit
Bullet Punch
Superpower
U-turn

Scizor makes a replace for Froslass since it handles many scary threats against this team, such as Xatu, Espeon, Reuniclus, and others. I prefer choice band over the SD set as I find it more effective.

Life Orb Sweeper - Dragon God - Chuck Liddell/Kyurem
Timid - Life Orb - Pressure
EV Spread - 252 Sp.Atk, 4 Sp.Def, 252 Spe
Blizzard
Draco Meteor
Shadow Ball/Hidden Power (Elec/Grass)
Focus Blast

Kyurem is a beast sweeper for this team. One issue I'm having with it though is the decision between either going up against pokes like Espeon, Gengar, Alakazam, ect (which can be an issue), or using HP elec/grass against certain water threats. Still, he is a great sweeper in Hail.

Honorable mentions for the team include...

Conkeldurr, Hariyama, Breloom, Regice, Mamoswine.

Please, all criticisms are accepted, but please no insults towards me or the team, or giving useless information. Thank you :D.

Firstly, you should move the DEF EVs into HP as it increases Tentacruel's special bulk whilst not hindering its physical bulk too much. Secondly, whilst Ice moves are often used against Gliscor, few of them are actually from Ice type pokemon, and most of them outspeed Gliscor. Thus I don't think Fire Fang would see a lot of use; feel free to replace it with anything you like, maybe Facade?

Heya SRK,

Soild Hail team, I think one of the ways you can improve it is by changing your EV spread on Tentacruel to Bold 252 HP 208 Def 48 Spe.
Tentacruel has enough natural special bulk, with this accompanied with the ability Liquid Ooze Conkeldurr and BU Breloom shouldn't be a problem anymore (Sub Punch is walled by Gliscor once Poison Heal is active) 48 Spe EVs to outspeed Standard Gliscor and get off a quicker spin.

By replacing Sludge Bomb for Hex and as long as TSpikes are up Jellicent will be unable to spinblock you which would prove problematic with so many SR weak PKMN.

Your using a SpD Tran but the EVs are all over the place. The spread should be 252 HP 248 SpD 8 Spe
8 Spe EVs for those to beat other Trans to the Roar while Max HP to increase Special Bulk.

Because you are utilising Spikes with Froslass and you seem to be struggling with faster PKMN I'd suggest trying out Delko's Kyurem set.
Substitute/Dragon Pulse/Blizzard/Focus Blast
Modest w/Leftovers
56 HP EVs 236 SpA 216 Spe

56 HP is for 101 Subs and the 216 Spe to outspeed Adamant Luke/Dnite (Standard) everything else is dumped into SpAtk for powerful hits.
Kyureum forces alot of switches thus racking entry hazard damage and it should help you against Zam and co. and if Zam happens to have a sash you can just pick it off with Ice Shard Aboma.

I'm slightly pushed for time so GL with the team man.

you are CM reuniclus weak , it setup on everything including kyurem after a DM , and then you juste lose .

nothing you can do about it actually , replacing any member would leave you weak to some threat , maybe froslass as it isn't doing ùuch for the team , replace it with a SD bulky scizor , since you already check fighting types with tenta/gliscor

Thanks. You're right. I ran into Reuniclus and got stalled out and swept. Was thinking of using Scizor as a replacement.
Also, I'm probably removing Froslass out of the team in edition for Scizor, so the ev spread and set for Gliscor will be completely different.

I'll definitely use your tran and Tentacruel advice. Although I'm a little skeptical about sub kyurem with lefties. I'm not a fan of having two subbers on a single team and one of them only having lefties as a way to regain hp unless I have a wisher on the same team. Personally, I like Life Orb Kyurem with Timid nature. Not that sub kyurem isn't bad, but I'd have to completely rearrange my team. I'll consider it though.
