Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

...you can't really use them unless I one of us =P teach you and I'm too lazy to teach people so if I write a guide I'll only have to teach once :)

Edit: Toast, RNG Reporter doesn't list them right :(

Edit 2: Unless it was fixed in 9.93 and no one told me... :P

That's unfortunate though. I was hoping they were right since my js one didn't work out. I have no idea if they were fixed or not, but I'm guessing it's a low priority.

Try double checking the Year, Time, and Date. Also if you have “Only odd/even” checked try unchecking it.
Made sure I have the right year, time and date. The only other thing of note is that in RNG Reporter I put in 1 in the seconds boxes.
Edit: I also do not have "Only odd/even" checked. Also, the Elm calls I should be getting are K, P, E, P, E, P, P, K, E.

That's fine. From conversations via VM, I've found out that you are new to 4th gen RNG altogether. (Just so anyone else reading knows) Also, the seed in question was AE000266. I double-checked that he's not hitting anything reasonable close myself.

Something is likely going wrong with your process, not just that you can't find the seed you hit. So..

When are you starting the timer?
What are you doing when the first one ends?
What are you doing when the second one ends?

Eh, there are but you can't really use them because RNG Reporter doesn't calculate the slots for each frame correctly (nor has anyone figured out how to do this calculation, as far as I know, that is).

But, if you're willing to wait I'm going to write a guide on using these encounter slots in the Safari Zone, probably this weekend. Here's the link to the slots, but again, you can't really use them unless I teach you and I'm too lazy to teach people so if I write a guide I'll only have to teach once :)

Alright I will wait for the awesome guide :)

I start the timer as soon as I hit 'A' on setting the time.
When the first one ends, I hit A on the start screen, when Ho-oh is flying so I enter the continue screen afterward.
On the second one, I hit A so I enter the game itself.

Yeah I'm at a complete loss. I was sure that when you generated a 4th gen egg PID that the only way to advance the "frame" yet for some reason I keep getting the incorrect PID after I'm sure I hit the seed because I verified to 12 elm calls.

You SR at that point. Some people prefer to start the game from the DS menu at that point instead.

This is the problem. When the first timer ends you need to either
1) start the game from the DS menu or,
2) soft-reset the game

Friggin ninja hozu.

@slashmolder: And you didn't use the radio at all this time around?

You do? Didn't think of that, is there any difference between doing those two? (like how it affects the seed)
Doing that, I got K, K, K, K, E, P, P, K, E and that does match delay 565

It's a very small difference in delay that gets calibrated out. No more than a few milliseconds. Some people say the menu is more accurate, personally I can hit much easier with SR.

Put 565 in, update the timer and you'll be there in no time.

I was toying with the radio the second time as well. I'll do it again without.

Ah, that could be it. I don't know much about the radio, but it could eat frames from the IRNG as well. At least it's an idea. Otherwise, you're right. Elm calls shouldn't affect it.

Well by not touching the radio I managed to get it right first try. Thanks.
Lesson learned: the radio does allow for IRNG advancing.

You advance to the frame you need to be at. Via Elm calls, Chatot Flips (Not Sure if this works because it isn't in the OP), Youngster Joey calls, or Radio.

It does work, it's been proven. It's not in the OP because it was recently discovered. It also works in DPPt :]

Guys, was after some advice on finding seeds in pokeRNG. To use an example, i'm trying to get a Zapdos with the following:
Timid
Ability: 0
31/x/31/31/31/31
HP Ice 70
non-shiny

Now, i've set the delay up to 65k but that doesn't seem to yied any results. This has been a pretty common thing for me, whether it be breeding shinies or anything. I was wondering if you guys had any advice as to fully utilising PokeRNG and getting worthwhile frames that yield the required stats, and how I should extend my parameters to hit a goal without neccesarily taking away from stats or otherwise.

Search for 30+/x/30+/31/31/31. The spread you've been searching for cannot give HP Ice.

Can you explain how i should be intelligently using PokeRNG to deduce this kind of thing myself? I don't understand why certain things work and others don't. I'd like to be able to optimise my spreads as I find them, but it rarely works

(especially frustrating with shiny pokes)

you could try to send us a screenshot so that we can see what step you're specifically having a hard time with.

Ah for Hidden Powers the type is determined by the IVs. 31/x/31/31/31/31 always yields either Dark or Dragon. So you have to search using 30+ (well 30 w/ >= in the drop-down box) while using the hidden power type and power filters as well.

Also the delay range you search in should be 550-900 imo unless you want to try higher delays.

With Hidden powers you're gonna not have 31 in every stat. So search with >30/X/>30/>30/>30/>30.

This allows things that aren't HP Dark to appear.
