[SET COMMENTS]

With this set, Accelgor can play the role of both a momentum thief and team supporter. By using enough Speed EVs to beat even Jolly Scarf Medicham&emdash;and, occasionally, its useful resistances to Ground, Grass, and Fighting&emdash;it can come in on a large number of Pokemon attempting to set up and Encore the set-up move in order to render them helpless. The key to this set is Substitute; it eases prediction for Accelgor, and when used in conjunction with Baton Pass, a teammate can get in safely without fearing status. In addition, should the Substitute manage to stay intact, you get even more momentum. Bug Buzz lets Accelgor finish off weakened opponents if the opportunity presents itself; it goes some way to hide this set's true purpose, and is a generally useful STAB move. The fact that this set can even set up in the face of Trick is just the icing on the cake.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

The EV spread is used to allow Accelgor to make 5 Substitutes instead of 4 if it's at full health, letting it stall out field effects such as rain and Trick Room if need be. If you are using 2 attacks instead of Baton Pass, an alternate spread of 16 HP / 240 SpA / 252 Spe is suggested to maintain the same effect while letting Accelgor threaten things more directly. Focus Blast is an excellent move for this purpose, dealing with Aggron, Munchlax, Klinklang, and Steelix&emdash;all of which are common switch-ins to Accelgor. Other options include Hidden Power Rock to deal with opponents that resist this combination such as Moltres and Scyther or Hidden Power Ghost to deal with opposing bulky Ghosts.

Because this set has a rather nasty case of four-moveslot syndrome, there will always be something that isn't covered; partners for this set should be considered with this in mind. If Accelgor lacks Focus Blast, Klinklang gives this set trouble, outspeeding Accelgor after Shift Gear and not worrying about Substitute thanks to Gear Grind. While Whimsicott is not likely to switch into Accelgor for fear of Bug Buzz, other Prankster users such as Murkrow and Volbeat are not friendly to this set. For both of these reasons, Steelix makes a great partner, as it is immune to Thunder Wave, laughs at Klinklang, and phazes away any of the opponent's boosts. Speaking of Prankster, priority is another worry for this set; as such, Lanturn pairs well with this set, resisting Aqua Jet while threatening Entei, the main ExtremeSpeed user.

In your current skeleton, you wrote that tons of moves can be used over Bug Buzz, but I think you should mention those moves can be used over Baton Pass. Substitute / Encore / Bug Buzz / Focus Blast or something similar still has some utility. I see no problem with this beside that.

Love this set. I agree with Pearl, this can work with HP Rock or Focus Blast over Baton Pass and a spread with 252 SpA, so mention that in AC. I would never give up Bug Buzz.

QC APPROVED 4/3

Run 252 Speed EVs since it lets Accelgor outrun Jolly Choice Scarf Medicham.
anyway, since this is already 4/3

5 approvals in half an hour? Holy shit, that has to be some kind of record. O_O

Implemented most suggested changes in the OP. The writeup will have to wait until tomorrow, because I am freaking exhausted.

I'm considering listing the moves as follows, but I'd like some thoughts from QC on this.

move 3: Baton Pass / Bug Buzz
move 4: Bug Buzz / Focus Blast / Hidden Power Rock

Why don't you just slash Baton Pass with Focus Blast? It seems less complex, you know... You should also change the set's name to Substitute + Encore. Good job otherwise!

[SET COMMENTS]

With this set, Accelgor can play the role of a momentum stealer and team supporter. By using enough Speed EVs to beat even Jolly Scarf Medicham - and, occasionally, its useful Grass/Ground/Fighting resistances to Ground, Grass, and Fighting - it can come in on a large number of things attempting to set up and Encore the set-up move to render them helpless. After that, using Substitute while the opponent switches out, and then Baton Passing into something that can threaten the switch-in, knowing that whatever you bring in is protected from status, and if the substitute manages to stay intact you get even more momentum in your favor. Bug Buzz lets Accelgor finish off weakened opponents if the opportunity presents itself, and it goes some way to hiding this set's true purpose, and is generally a very useful STAB move. The fact that this set can even set up in the face of Trick is just the icing on the cake.

(wouldn't Hidden Power Dark work as well, as it keeps Accelgor's perfect IVs?)

This set has a rather nasty case of four-moveslot syndrome, and so there will always be something not covered; partners for this set should generally be considered with this in mind. The main reason behind that was to keep the move order being from most important to least important. I'm pretty undecided about whether to keep it or change it; I like it the way it is, but if QC says different I probably wouldn't argue very hard.

Also re TrollFreak: HP Dark + Bug Buzz gives Fighting-types an easy switch-in, HP Ghost eliminates this problem, and getting an SE hit on Gallade is not an insignificant benefit. On top of that, the only imperfect IVs from HP Ghost are Atk and SpD.

I didn't say it wasn't fine, I just said it'd look less complex if you just slashed Focus Blast with Baton Pass, but yeah, you're probably right.
