Looker says that he has heard that N was seen in a distant land with a Dragon-type Pokémon.

^Got this from bulbapedia. This could either mean there is another part of Unova or perhaps Hoenn? There is also a Hoenn visitor in the games (desert resort) which could also indicate something.

Planes in Mistraliton (Or however it's spelt) are probably going to be used, if Hoenn is in the game, to fly to this "Distant Land" where N is if I had to guess.

Either battling him or Steven at Meteor Falls would bring back good old memories....

It'd be nice to battle Steven again and have him pit all of his wonderful steels against the huge amount of dragons in this game.

This this this this this. Kanto in GSC is by far (in my opinion) the biggest blunder that Nintendo and Game Freak have made. I loved the fact that they added some length to the end of the game, but it was just stupidly simple. The Viridian forest was a maze of trees with no trainers or grass. The caves were pretty simple, etc.
If they throw in Hoenn, I expect it to be essentially a replay of RSE.

Although now that I think about it, I really enjoy starting with a brand new, level 5 Pokemon and completing the region with a team that I build up along the way, and if they add on Hoenn to the end of BW2, it just wouldn't be as fun to me...
I liked the revisit to Kanto in GSC. They could have done more with it, but I was hoping they would continue with the revisit to old lands in the next generations, they never did come though.

Suicune says hi.

Fire Ice is not that effective offensively and it sucks deffensively. Elec/Ice is really the only viable one if the types turn out to be like that.

whoops forgot about suicune. Fire/Ice, even though it is resisted by many things, does the second most average damage of any dualtype coverage option in ou, behind only ice/ground. (if youre curious, ill post my work on this more in depth, but i dont wanna get that off topic in this thread)

The shrinking of Kanto was both due to the limited space on the game cartridge, and the game wouldn't gain a lot from adding it anyway. You had already braved caves and forests and man-made dungeons and whatnot, it wouldn't be as exciting to do it all over again just to get from place to place.

That being said, though... the Lavender - Celadon underground path is possibly the biggest troll teaser in any game ever: "Uncouth trainers have been holding battles in the Underground Path..." So why didn't they let us battle them?!?

Alright, I've heard people say it quite a bit, but "a faraway land" does not equal Hoenn. I want it to, but it could be anything, any region in any country on any continent. Their easiest bet if they do follow him is one of the older ones like that, and everyone's expecting Hoenn so if they do follow him that's where he'll most likely be. However, we may never even see where this faraway land is, and it may not even say where he went, he could just return and be like "I was training in a distant land and now I'm a badass pokemon master." But I'm hoping for Hoenn, just like all of you guys.

On the topic of Kyurem's typing/moves/abilites:

I'm pretty sure it's going to stay a Dragon/Ice type. The moves make sense with their corresponding forms; a type change isn't necessary, and it would also take STAB off the special new moves, which would make absolutely no sense. Nor is it likely that Game Freak will release the first triple-type (which I don't think we'll ever see at all, frankly) in the middle of a generation and without other triple-types being released at the same time. Dragon/Ice just makes the most sense.

Now, what I CAN see happening is Kyurem's new forms receiving abilites related to their forms. Either Turboblaze and Teravolt (though that's pretty far out), abilities that give them a psuedo-STAB on Fire/Electric moves, or abilities similar to Serene Grace that are made to fit the added effects of the special moves. So Reshi-rem would have like "Fireburn" (lols), which would double the chance of any of its moves inflicting Burn. I think that could be pretty cool.

The idea of a paired pseudo-3rd version is a bit unconventional, but i still can't wait.

Visiting hoenn would also be as cool as Kyurem itself.

edit: i thought about it. move tutors would be cool.

quiver dance/shell smash/baton pass tutors=win.

I just had an idea. What if you start as a new trainer and since there are now other pokemon in the region, it's just like the other games?

Has anyone mentioned how Kyurem can only be found after you beat the E4 and N? So in order to get B/W Kyurem will you get access to the other part of Unova early?

Unless they change it so Kyurem will be an integral part of Unova in the new games. The same was for Diamond and Pearl with Giratina, but they changed it in Platinum so Giratina had a much larger role.

I fucking love adventuring. Especially since that means more in-story adventuring.

It just hit me now, but hopefully BW2 will have new sprites if only for the Unova Mons.

@jamashawalker: Can't believe I forgot about that. I hope for some backstory on that as well. >.>

I bet the mystery of who the champion's(Alder's) dead pokemon is will be revealed. Im so curious who it was because despite being never stated it had one of the biggest influences in the game

True. I've wondered what Alder's dead Pokemon is too, but I really hope it isn't going to be Kyurem, lmao. >_> Maybe it's a Tauros or something. :o

Always thought of Alder having a Serperior or something. Hell, he might not even be from Unova. You never know. And just because the player has to pick between Fire/Water/Grass doesn't mean that everyone does.

omg ELECTRIC/ICE STAB BOLTBEAM OLOLOLOL FIRE/ICE WILL SUCK HAHA OLOLOLOL

Yes, we get it, even though these typings are just as likely as a combo-sequel/hoenn remake and triple typings (aka not very likely). Now can we have intelligent discussion?

I agree with the idea of stone-based transformations for Kyurem, or perhaps a move-tutor based transformation (teach it Ice Burn and it turns into Kyushiram etc.) I also foresee the forms getting Fusion Bolt and Fusion Flare, and a stat upgrade, but not much beyond that. pretty much just like Giratina and Deoxys, movepool and stat upgrades and that's it. Speaking of Deoxys it could be something as simple as an in-game event for changing Kyurem's form. Simple is better, less is more, this is a pattern that GF follows more often than not, as much as they troll us. The changes are not likely to be so extreme.

Two games....Leaves a really bad feeling for me. I'm excited for the matter of new games like everyone else, but...

Just hope they do it right. Like they always do for the third games, expand the story, add the tutor moves (a must), flesh out the battle complex (the subway in this case), expand the post game activities (there was nothing to do in BW after beating the Champion), bring back that Vs. Seeker, improve the script, improve the interface slighty, change/improve the teams of NPCs, etc. These are definitely the big things for me. Then, I'll be excited for retreading of other regions.

Just found potential release date.

According to the Japanese website under this section with a bunch of dates for stuff it lists "2012.02.26" Aka the date today, and then the info(Roughly translated) "June 2 "White 2 Pokemon Black" 2012, simultanious release of 2!"

Edit: Surprised at no sort of explosion at the news. Great info for people who want move tutors (If they're in game) for VGC. And just in general good for people who want the games ASAP.

Always thought of Alder having a Serperior or something. Hell, he might not even be from Unova. You never know. And just because the player has to pick between Fire/Water/Grass doesn't mean that everyone does.

Lance's Charizard, Gardenia's Torterra, and Flint's Infernape come to mind. I always imagined it to be another Volcarona or something like that. It would be nice if BW2 gave some reason as to why there's a Volc in the Relic Castle in the first place.

I was just making a point that not everyone starts off with Fire/Grass/Water. And maybe the Volcarona that Alder caught had a baby before it was caught? Or a totally unrelated Volcarona migrated from parts unknown to roost. Someone released their Larvesta and it evolved in anguish from being abandoned?

Some of my thoughts:
-Has anyone mentioned already the fact that the Zekrom-Kyurem is in the Black version rather than the White version and vise versa for the Reshiram-Kyurem. This could hint at the continuation of the story, since in the first game the main character caught the respective version mascot and it is no longer available in that version.
- In regards of the Kyurem new forms' types, I think at least Ice is a given, since the two new signature moves will be ice type, and I do not think we've had a pokemon whose signature move is a different type than the pokemon.
- Also, I don't see any comments about Meloetta being announced already. They usually take their time announcing unreleased event pokemon. Last gen we only got one per year. But the fact that we are getting two in one year is pretty odd.
