Hahahaha. Atop. #1. Finally, it isn't really unpredictable. There was no way city could maintain it. With a team like that, I expected them to be top notch, but not #1. They had to slip up. United kept tailing and now we're up there. Looking at the fixtures, we have a much higher chance of staying there for the rest of the season than city.

GGMU

We should be marked yellow not red;it's a game at the Etihad where City have been pretty good so far and we are definitely not in form despite winning our last two games.I'll only agree that we can actually pose some sort of threat to City if we manage to beat Napoli 2-0.

If Drogba and Mata starts then I think Chelsea are still a strong team. Something like:

Cech
Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole
Essien
Sturridge, Lampard, Mata, Ramires
Drogba

Essien provides the defensive cover for the front 5 to do their thing and that is a very good front 5. I really think Chelsea's woes have all been playing Torres when he just isn't good enough anymore. Whether he can be world class again is too costly a question for a club like Chelsea to be answering - ship him off to Athletico Madrid or something and take the loss. I reckon if the overpaid egos at Chelsea pulled their fingers out and played as best as they can for the club and manager again then Chelsea's first XI is more or less just as strong as Man City's first XI. Man City are defensively stronger but Chelsea have an immense front line.

edit: I can't believe I'm telling a Chelsea fan how good their team is, wtf has happened to me today?

Maybe coz you didn't watch the game vs Stoke where that very lineup was struggling to score vs ten man Stoke.Mikel didn't do any less than Essein would've and Ivanovic had to be brought off for Luiz but we still should've won 2-0 atleast.

that was garry nevilles list though lol
as i said
swansea away = banana
the chelsea game depends on which chelsea bothers to turn up.
and ferguson has been over to france to scout eden hazard.
oh.. yes please

lol nice lee

serie a getting intense, napoli got a 6-3 win over cagliari, and udinese are losing 1-0 to novara, with lazio being down 1-3 vs bologna. this puts napoli in 4th place which is good enough for CL playoffs but lazio are now only at 2 points, pretty confident we are gonna net that CL spot, possibly pass juve, and its an immense long shot but if milan choke everythings possible!!!!

go napoli

Beating Napoli 2-0(or more) and finishing fourth would be enough thank you very much. And Lee,when i said we should be marked yellow not red i was obviously referring to the difficulty level of the match for City.

Manchester City are starting to look like a team in need of a summer holiday. What they certainly do not need is more trips abroad in the Europa League. City's form has collapsed to such an alarming extent away from home – 16 points and 23 goals in the first six league games, eight points and four goals in the last eight – that, at least in statistical terms, comparisons with Kevin Keegan's Newcastle are not so much valid as compulsory. If City's away form is not addressed immediately, they might go into the meeting with Manchester United on 30 April needing snookers.

The life of the mind is so precarious that everything could change, especially if City have a Macheda moment to reverse their momentum, but they would significantly increase their chances of winning the league if they played a full reserve side in the Europa League. They could even give Owen Hargreaves a game. If they progress, fine; the reserves can play in the quarter-final as well. If not City will play only one game a week for the rest of the season, and their attacking names will have the chance to get some feeling back in their legs and some freshness in their minds.

What do you guys think? It makes sense, both for City and United IMO, because its not like United isn't going to get tired playing Europa. Plus Europa counts for nothing. It makes more sense to win the PL, and get knocked out of Europa than place 2nd in the PL and either win or go far in Europa.

well yea, you cant win much on home from alone, you need good away from.
and pick up points at the hard places like swansea, everton and stoke. are key, it isn't really a problem it isn't like they are losing away or dropping points at places they shouldn't be, just struggling in the harder away fixtures.

Huuuuge result!!! I was really concerned about Arsenal's fixtures starting with Tottenham, Liverpool and Newcastle but we came through it and are now gunning for 3rd! Excellent team performance and hopefully more of the same to come!

edit: Vermaelen so beast, Krul didn't see him coming at all! Also Phadunk where are u getting these gifs so fast...?
