Why this set deserves to be on-site:
- Is a hard counter to Calm Mind Reuniclus, and also beats Offensive Trick Room versions
- Can dispose of all of OU's frail Ghosts and Psychics with ease
- Provides Pursuit support without having to resort to Tyranitar or Scizor
- Shadow Sneak and Pursuit form a deadly mind game that in the hands of a good player is inescapable
- Can also be a last-ditch revenge killer, hitting hard with Sucker Punch

Additional Comments:
- Prediction is really important when using this set
- If they attack and can't 2HKO, use Pursuit
- If they can, use the more appropriate of Shadow Sneak and Sucker Punch
- EVs invest in bulk because Spiritomb is really slow
- 248 HP / 168 Atk / 92 SpD is never 2HKOed by Gengar Shadow Ball after Stealth Rock
- Extremly limited coverage, so is set-up fodder for Scrafty, Lucario, Hydreigon, and the like
- Can use Will-O-Wisp or Toxic over Trick to cripple sweepers or walls on the switch
Teammates & Counters:
- Terrakion is both a great partner and a strong counter, since Spiritomb can get rid of all Psychics, Ghosts that are faster than it, as well as Tornadus; picks up an Attack boost on Pursuit and Sucker Punch, and takes little from Shadow Sneak
- Pokemon that can take advantage of Blissey and Gastrodon being Choice-locked are good partners, examples are Latios and Heatran
- Tyranitar walls the set to kingdom come, and doesn't mind getting Tricked
- Skarmory and Ferrothorn laugh at Spiritomb, setting up Spikes in its face
- Scizor can use Pursuit on Spiritomb as it switches out, while taking little damage from anything the set has to offer
- Magnezone can trap and kill both of these Pokemon, making it a good partner
- A strong Fighting-type such as Conkeldurr or Breloom can defeat both Dark-types and Steel-types that Spiritomb has trouble dealing with
