5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

my steps in order are
1. open the RNG reporter
2. click ds parameters search
3. enter in my mac address and version (white)
4. enter in time and date i start my ds from the main ds menu
5. press nothing during the opening movie
6. start the game and use sweet scent (ive done this twice in the last cave of victory rd
7.catch pokemon and record its info into the iv calculator
8. press search and nothing comes up

Are you sure the date/time you entered is correct? Maybe the date or hour is wrong.
yeah i checked everything is good as far as the date and time I just tried again to make sure
from past experience, just using chatot to advance the encounter slots (in an area that have no weather or npcs) seems to make the encounter slot alternate between different pokemon (presumably on odd/even), which keep reappearing.
is there anything i can do to get past this?
suppose i could just hit different seeds, but influencing it openly would make things much easier.
Maybe because those were the only two Pokemon found on that route? Or, if not, it was probably just a coincidence.
Just copy your seed, go to the main window, make the method "Method 5 PID RNG", and paste your seed in the correct place. Then click the button "Calculate initial PIDRNG Frame" (it's on the right hand side of the window). Change the encounter type to whatever you're trying to get (in your case you don't need to change it since the default is Wild Pokemon). Then click generate. RNG Reporter will show you the PID frames for your seed, along with the encounter slot of each frame. Of course, this doesn't take NPCs or weather into account.
B4 - 05 = AF
So change B4 to AF. If you have a calculator on your computer, just change the mode to hex and it will do the math for you :3
Also, don't forget to add 5 seconds back to the C-Gear target time the Entralink Seed search window gives you.

then does the encounter slot change with the pid in a constant ratio?
like, one change for each frame changed?
No, lol. You could have one frame have a slot of 1 and the next frame have a slot of 9.
Just follow the procedure I explained in the post you quoted to figure out the encounter slots for your seed :)
Okay I honestly have no clue were I plug in this new seed :S.
In the entralink seed search window, because you want it to give you standard seeds with a second that you can hit.
That's a concept I didn't understand in the first place (I am sure it's really simple too) :/. How do I use that in the Eontimer?
Gen V mode, check C-Gear and Entralink.
Target Seconds = The seconds value for the CGear seed that Entralink Seed Search gives you + 5;
