Another Glaie? Froslass Discusion

Froslass is one of my favorite new pokemon. Glalie was my favorite last Gen but due to his stats being all 80 and not very good he was generally not able to be used. Hopefully this new evo will make it better.

Bolt beamer Getting stab on Ice beam really is great

i dont know where it belongs in the metagame though Maybe UU BL is pushing it with this guy who really only has good speed and a few anoyong moves
 
Froslass is also a fast Spiker that can phaze as well as block RS. Shame it doesn't get WoW, though.

Lay down some Spikes and Toxic to force some switches, and BoltBeam to get rid of Rapid Spinners like Donphan and Starmie/Tentacruel who try to ruin your fun. You can put Destiny Bond over one of the halves of BoltBeam so that when you know you're through you can take someone down with you.
 
With a Focus Sash, it might be able to take out 2 pokemon; one with its attacks and one with a really speedy destiny bond. Points for forcing Garchomp to run away if it comes in... If you predict Swords Dance from Garchomp it will be forced to run in fear, which is a plus. In Standard settings Weavile is a menace to Froslass with Pursuit or Night Slash. and is resistant to both its STAB attacks. Although on an even setting you might be able to destiny bond behind weavile forcing it to switch or not attack you (if its a non swords dancer, they are going to have to have weavile die, or switch) If Weavile IS carrying Swords Dance, Froslass (and probably most your team) are gonners.

Alternately you could use Thunder Wave somewhere instead of Shadow Ball or Thunderbolt and start paralyzing things, which might be useful on predicted switches. Thunder Wave + Destiny Bond = Fun Times for all
 
Sadly, there is already an analysis for it ;_;

This doesn't really like Stealth Rock at all. Added to that, it's too fragile and will die mostly in one hit, so it's a waste to try and use Spikes on him. Choice Specs is the way to go, though Jynx outclasses this thing IMO

It has 70 Defence, not 80

Just so you know, Slowking kills the annoyer sets. Don't even bother mentioning them
 
What prevents Froslass from being the ultimate Anti-Rapid-Spinner?

Its ghost type prevents Rapid Spin, and its ice/ghost STAB moves scare the living hell out of Donphan, Starmie, Claydol, and other Rapid Spinners. On top of this, she's faster than any dragon or anything else 4X weak to Ice.

Froslass could be a terror on many teams, I think. If only she wasn't so frail...

SR weak and so low defenses that it'll probably be OHKOed by SR Damage + STABed Earthquake/Surf/Earth Power (Donphan/Starmie/Claydol, the most popular Rapid Spinners)

Froslass is faster than any of those except possibly Starmie, though. She can switch in to prevent Rapid Spin and then Ice Beam/Blizzard/Shadowball to kill the opponent. Shouldn't a Blizzard from Froslass kill Donphan and Claydol pretty tidily?
 
It doesn't always work like that. Rapid Spinners tend to attack on the switch in order to wear down the Ghost that's meant to be blocking them. Two Surfs from Starmie kill her, Earthquake or Stone Edge from Donphan kills her. Claydol can't hurt her too badly, unless it has Stone Edge, but she fails to OHKO even with Blizzard, unless she's got Choice Specs.

Her ability to block Rapid Spin is basically that she can Spike and a lot of the good Rapid Spinners can't come in safely to spin them away. Forretress, however will destroy her.
