Rmt: Unbreakable fury

I have seen 2-3 posts now about registeel, so I decided to play around with him and see what he can/cant do, and I was surprised at his potential to even stall pokemon that used super-effective moves on him. So after abit of lurking on other peoples teams and some experimentation my self i have come up with this as my team.

Jelicent@leftovers
623.png

252 HP / 36 Def / 220 SpD
Bold
Water Absorb
-Scald
-Wil-o-wisp
-Recover
-Taunt
Jeli is one of my main stallers of the team being able to sub into many weakness`s that registeel has and then just recover them off. I picked Scald as my stab of choice for the chance of burn if i do get out-speed and Taunt is used agenst me. I have taunt in there for any unsuspecting people who do try and set-up agenst jelicent.

Zapdos@leftovers
145.png

4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid
Pressure
-Substitute
-Roost
-Thunderbolt
-Heatwave
Zapdos is my main special sweeper and can be easuly subbed in when a electric, or ground move is used on my 2 walls, registeel and jelicent. I picked Timid nature for a speedy sub-roost set up and safely use T-bolt and heatwave behind.

Registeel@leftovers

252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful
Clear Body
-Iron Head
-Curse
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
My main pokemon, the indestructible wall Registeel, Simply said after a 1-2 curse i rest off the damage and then sleep talk until he wakes up to either set up more or go back to sleep. Its a VERY basic strategy but one that works surprisingly well.

Mamoswine@choice band
478.png

252attk/252spd/4hp
Adament
Snow Cloak
-Ice Shard
-Icicle Crash
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
Mamoswine is my late game sweeper, and he fills this role very well, and personally i find he just complements registeel very well, tho sharing a common fighting weakness Mamoswine can sub into any incomming electric moves played at jelicent, or ground at registeel then start his rain of pain.

Espeon@Leftovers
196.png

4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid
Magic Bounce
-Calm Mind
-Hidden Power Fighting
-Psychic
-Shadow Ball
Espeon was placed on this team to fit a VERY specific role, which was to use its ability to stop any pokemon like sableye using wil-o-wisp or any other status on me, and to also prevent any pokemon trying to put on rocks and spikes up. Since my team does lack both spikes an a spinner, which I dont feel my team exactly needs, i did feel i need a way to try and stop them from being laid down.

Quagsire@leftovers
195.png

252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful
Unaware
-Curse
-Recover
-Earthquake
-Waterfall
A second weakness I noticed was some pokemon were still able to set up, and with no phazer on my team, baton pass teams could ruin this team. I First decided to put a dragonite parashifter on here but something still felt off, and then in a battle i seen a unaware quagsire, so in he went, and he filled this roll good, as long as i made sure to keep grass moves away from him, im able to set up curse and then use waterfall or earthquake to start to sweep.

This team has brought me alot of success lately when i been using it, anyone willing to rate this team for me and see if there are some things you feel I could do to make it better. My main focus is around Registeel in this team, so please do keep that in mind

I like most of the team, however, I would take out either Quagsire or Registeel, as both require a large amount of boosting to be effective, and a phazer can just roar/whirlwind them out. Only one can be the last Pokemon. I personally like Quagsire more, and recommend you keep him, but it seems you want to use Registeel. If you want to keep a water/ground Pokemon, you can use Gastrodon or Swampert. If you want to keep the ability to shut down boost up Pokemon, you can consider a priority Prankster taunt Pokemon, such as Sableye, who can also burn and recover, or a phazer. If you use a Pokemon like Sableye, you may want to consider changing Jellicent for something else: what? I don't know yet. :P

Anyways, pretty nice team. Glad to see Registeel getting some love, even if he's decimated mostly by a sun team, or a strong physical fighting or ground type before he can Curse a couple times.

Personally I'm not to worried about registeel being played out since I only need 1curse to be bulky and at full HP he doesnt need to worry about being ohkoed unless I sub into a weakness of his but I normaly bring registeel out mid game

Yeah, I understand that, but any team with a phazer, most notably Skarmory, will just whirlwind him and his boosts out while taking basically no damage from Iron Head, which is why, with that moveset, he's best used as your last Pokemon, so he can't be phazed. You can keep both him and Quagsire if you want, but I think one of them should be replaced with something else.

still iffy on the reasoning tho, hopefully someone will give a in-depth rate to help, this set does see a good amount of phazer teams that fall to my team, but does also sometimes falls to anything. Especially if the opponent gets a lucky crit, which is one of the main ways I see regi-steel falling

This team looks like it would get absolutely destroyed by Sun teams - you have absolutely nothing to beat common Sun Pokemon such as Venusaur, Heatran and Volcarona. I suggest that you replace your Quagsire with an offensive Heatran of your own. Heatran resists Grass and is immune to Fire, making it one of the best weapons against Sun teams. Additionally, it learns Stealth Rock, which will help you score KOs and break Focus Sashes.

As you said, you don't really need a spinner - many of your Pokemon have some form of recovery. Quite frankly, Espeon isn't needed here. The one Pokemon you mention - Sableye - is completely stopped by Heatran. Registeel can absorb Spore from Breloom (although you can't stay in) and Mamoswine takes Thunder Waves all day. What you lack, however, is a straight-up revenge killer. Therefore, I suggest you replace Espeon with a Choice Scarf Latios. Latios's power is incredible, and with Choice Scarf you outspeed almost the entire metagame.

One last thing - change Heat Wave to Hidden Power Ice on Zapdos - you'll get better coverage.

I don't have time to post the sets right now. However, the sets I recommended are all quite standard, and can be found on the Smogon Strategy Dex, along with more detailed descriptions of the set.
