The Deadly Duo. (My First RMT)

Alright! What's up guys? My name is Brad. And this is my first RMT, so feel free to help me in anyway possible! This is a standard balanced team. It started off as a Double Dragons team but after MUCH tweaking this was the final result, that I feel the most success with! I mainly tried building this team around Dragonite, considering he is my favorite Pokemon. Then it ended up being Double Dragons, and after little success with that, I kept tweaking until I fit my playstyle. So let's break the team down.

DragoBalls (Dragonite) (M) @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Fire Punch
- ExtremeSpeed

Ahhh, Dragonite half of " The Deadly Duo." One of my favorite pokemon since day one. I picked Dragonite as my main sweeper. And a pokemon that is for sure capable of wrecking shop after getting off some Dragon Dances. I run Outrage over Dragon Claw for the raw power that Outrage has over DC. ExtremeSpeed to pick of the weakened Mons, and Fire Punch to kill all those Pesky Steels. MultiScale because without it Dragonite doesnt stand a chance, and Lum Berry to ensure me atleast 1-2 dragon dances, and if I'm lucky, get rid of the confusion from Outrage. I split the EV's in health and speed because after one Dragon Dance he reaches 375 speed, which is faster than most Mons, without a scarf.

vaporeon.jpg

Vaporeon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 60 HP / 196 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Protect
- Wish
- Toxic

My wish support/Special Wall and 1/3 of my defensive core. This little guy has saved my ass SO many times. Whether it be from toxic stalling, passing on wishes, taking Tbolts like a champ, and even eating Outrages. Anyway, Wish/Protect is pretty self explanatory. Scald so im not taunt bait, and for the burns. And toxic to stall certain Mons out. I only run 60 HP EV's so i could bulk up in Defense, and with 416 Hp, Those are pretty masssive wishes I'm passing on.

205___forretress_by_merum_sb_blueolimar-d346ro2.png

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 140 SAtk / 116 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Volt Switch
- Rapid Spin
- Hidden Power [Ice]

2/3 of my defensive core and probably THEE MOST UNDERRATED Forretress set out there. Rocks for hazard support, Rapid Spin to ensure Dragonite has his MultiScale and to keep hazards off my side, And the icing on the cake, BOLTBEAM! Hidden Power Ice on Forretress is so unexpected. It 2hkos Salamence, and can Ohko un-invested Gliscors. Voltswitch to make sure Magnezone cant trap you, and deal some damage while switching. My favorite set for him.

jirachi.jpg

Jirachi @ Expert Belt
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 152 Atk / 152 SAtk / 204 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Thunderbolt
- Iron Head
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Fire Punch

One of the most annoying, and unpredictable Pokemon this gen. I chose to run the ExpertRachi set over most choice, due to the fact that faking the choice item is hilarious. People think they have a safe switch, and I counter. Thunderbolt to nail those bulky waters, Hidden Power ice to hit Dragons and Gliscors. Iron Head for the STAB/Flinch Hax. And Fire Punch for steels. I split the EV's in both attacks so I have more speed to outrun most neutral natured setup sweepers. This little guy is capable of punching holes in teams if they are not ready.

131px-640Virizion.png

Virizion @ Leftovers
Trait: Justified
EVs: 208 Atk /48 SAtk / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Swords Dance
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Leaf Blade
- Close Combat

One of the 3 legendary musketeers this gen and the other half of "The Deadly Duo", and certainly my favorite. Swords Dance Virizion is a PAIN to deal with if you are not prepared. STAB Close Combats and Leaf Blades hurt. Alot. Hidden Power Ice gives me the perfect coverage I need to make sure im not walled by Gliscors and help me take down Dragons. I put 48 EV's in SpAtk to help me hurt things with my HP Ice, and I run Naive to make sure that I outspeed most Non-Scarfed threats.

Sableye_by_Angelgear.jpg

Sableye (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Recover
- Night Shade
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt

Finally, the last part of my Defensive Core. Prankster was probably the biggest gift Sableye couldve gotten. With a huge support movepool, it allows him to totally abuse prankster. Taunt to make sure things like Dragonite dont setup on me, Will-O-Wisp to burn physical attackers and walls that are not already poisoned. Recover for recovery purposes, and nightshade to deal constant damage and avoid being taunt bait. Although Sableye's stats are sub-par at best, with this spread it really helps him live at get off a WoW or Taunt.

Thanks for your time guys! I really hope to get some feedback on this team. I should start posting regularly on the site also. Message me if you ever want to battle, or have questions. Im always willing to help !

Rotom-H chandelure heatran and infernape come to mind when I see your team. You can counter all of them better by replacing either sableye or vaporeon with jellicent.

jellicent@leftovers
cursed body/water absorb
252 attack 252 def/sp def
scald/surf/hydro pump
recover/pain split
toxic/will-o-wisp
shadow ball

You have a lot of options with this guy. You can switch freely into all mentioned above except specs rotom using tbolt or specs chandelure using shadow ball. Both are rare to see in OU.

Well I mean, Vaporeon is my wisher, so it helps me keep other things on my team like my sweepers alive for a longer duration. Which definitely helps me out in the long run. And I dont want to switch my Sableye because of the Utility Role he fills on the team. But I will for sure keep that in mind. Thanks !

I don't think you heard me right. Rotom-H destroys your team. Who do you counter with? Dragonite gets tricked a choice specs/scarf, vaporeon takes about 68% from volt switch forry jirachi and virizon are OHKOd by overheat. Not to mention sableye is forced to switch out. Zapdos with hp ice and heat wave can sweep you too.

Just sayin.

Rotom-H and zapdos could give you nightmares
but they're thankfully uncommon in OU
the pokemon I see most threatening is perhaps Hydregion
who hurts 5 of your pokes pretty badly
otherwise its a pretty solid team, and you should add an exportable ;p

Hey thanks alot ! (: And I swapped out forretress for Donphan and that seems to be working. And you mean and Importable, so other people can play with it, do you want to play with it?

love your team, export to a text > copy > paste... PLS
