Sweet! In the new D/P adventure guide it has a list of what all the stats that go with which little sayings. So that means they have good IV's in that stat?

Generally, how effective would a team based around toxic spikes be?

I plan on using tentacruel/forretress/dusknior/skarmory/cresselia/infernape

No, it depends. The only useful ones are the 31 stat sayings. But if you get one, that doesn't mean that it's corresponding stat does indeed have an IV of 31. But there is a chance it does, so it's worth checking.

31's are IIRC:

HP: Capable of taking hits
Atk: Likes to thrash about
Def: Sturdy Body
SpAtk: Mischevious
Speed: Alert to Sounds

I forgot what Sp.Def was, but really, who needs that? When breeding, I usually check Pokemon that have their behavioral traits listed as one of those.

EDIT: Yeah, I messed up on HP and Def. It's odd too, as I'm breeding Blisseys atm and am looking for Bold "Often Dozes off" ones.

I've got a question , at the moment im catching a tonne of dittos on emerald hoping to get good nature'd 31 IV Dittos. Now do people trade for the 31 Iv dittos even if they dont have a rather good nature or only for good nature and iv dittos. Also is it only worth keeping the non-31iv pokemon or do people trade with ones that have lower IVs.

are there any threads for starter pokemon? like breloom, salamence, gengar, zapdos, etc.

like im mainly looking for advice for whats good for starting pokes
but i cant find anything

All the possible Sdef are:

Strong Willed, Somewhat Vain, Strongly Defiant, Hates to lose, and Somewhat Stubborn. Maybe that'll help you remember.

Actually you messed up on Hp and Defense.

Hp: Often Dozes off and Def is Capable of taking Hits. Others are fine.

@Shadow of a man: Sp.Defense is "Somewhat vain"

Good nature, good IVs (at least 31 in the stat raised by nature, if nothing else).

Good nature and shitty IVs, or bad nature and good IVs are next to worthless when it comes to trading.

People prefer Dittos with both good IVs and nature, but Id use anything with 31 in a stat. Release any non max IV Dittos unless they are 30/30/30/30/30/30 or something simillarly amazing.

EDIT: beaten

ok thanks guys, so ill keep the 31 Iv ones i have at the moment (not many just started), and get rid of the other non max iv ones (as i dont think any of them have like all 30's or even anythin close)

EDIT: one other thing if i have a jolly ditto with say
1/1/1/1/1/31 (or somethin crap like that but still having 31 speed will people trade that)

I'm bored out of my mind, so I'm going to breed a Hustle Togekiss

I'm thinking of breeding a Brave one, so I dont lose SpA so I can aura sphere for a guaranteed hit when I need it. Or is losing that speed going to hurt it too much? =/

Trasferred dittos with other transferred pokemon works fine. 3rd gen dittos+4th gen pokemon doesn't work. 4th gen dittos+4th gen pokemon does work.

Would it be ok to put an Alakazam, Slowbro and a Dusknoir on a team? It just sucks to me that they're all weak to ghost. I know it depends on your team, but jsut wondering if its ok to put those 3 on a team.

^to above poster, I'd say you have bigger problems with your pokes being weak to dark attacks, I'd just keep two max of the pokes you want to use, and make sure you have some good dark/ghost resists (the only ghost move you'll really see is shadow ball genager anyway)

Would Tangrowth also be able to work as a good Physical Wall? It has a lot of weaknesses though. Are there any others besides Skarmory or Glisor? There may be Rhypherior, but is there anything else? Oh yeah, besides any type of legendary, including Cresselia?

I have a few questions:

-What exactly does life orb do?
-What does thick club do for marowak?
-What ability does porygon need to know to evolve into adaptability porygonZ?

1) Increase Damage by 1.3x, but you receive 10% of your HP as recoil each time you attack
2) Doubles attack
3) Trace, assuming it's in D/P.
