Oh wow I didn't know that! So if I let my Gardevoir kill a Bibarel for 6 attack EVs (w/ PowerBrace) and my Skitty is holding the EXP Share, it gets to 6 Attack EVs, too?

i doubt it. if one amulet coin was in battle i dont think it would count a 2nd 1
just an idea
What about both an amulet coin and the incense that has the same effect?

@the folks asking about Gyro Ball:
I have new information about Gyro Ball.

Basically I tried my hand to improve Team Rocket's Elite's formula, which, as he said, was just a rough estimate. His formula was

Power = Foe's Speed * 25 / Your Speed

The above formula was a rough estimate which worked pretty okay, but I think I found a better formula that is more accurate:

Power = X^2 + 19*X, where X = Foe's Speed / Your Speed.

If Power > 150, it becomes 150 (Intriguingly, this happens exactly when X = 6, meaning that the foe's speed is 6 times your own or more, exactly as Team Rocket Elite said.)
If Power < 5, it becomes 5 (this happens when X is slightly greater than 1/4, meaning your speed is around 4 times that of your foe's.)

Interestingly, if X = 1 (i.e. your speed matches that of the foe), the power given by my formula is 20.

Let's test Team Rocket's Elite's data with my formula:

Team Rocket Elite said:
Lv 38 Dootankun- 73 atk, 39 speed
Lv 54 Lapras- 105 def, 89 speed

No speed modifications
20, 20, 20, 18, 18
avg 19 = ~51 power
89/39 = 2.28
TRE's formula: Power = 89*25/39 = 57
My formula: Power = (89/39)^2 + 19*(89/39) = 48

Dootankun w/Power Wrist
36, 40, 38, 36, 36, 36, 36, 40, 38, 36
avg 37 = ~105 power
89/19 = 4.68
TRE's formula: Power = 89*25/19 = 117
My formula: Power = (89/19)^2 + 19*(89/19) = 110

Lapras w/Power Wrist
10, 8, 10, 10
avg 9 = ~20 power
44/39 = 1.13
TRE's formula: Power = 44*25/39 = 28
My formula: Power = (44/39)^2 + 19*(44/39) = 22

Lapras w/three X Speeds
48, 44, 52, 46, 48
avg 48 = ~140 power
222/39 = 5.69
TRE's formula: Power = 222*25/39 = 142
My formula: Power = (222/39)^2 + 19*(222/39) = 140

Dootankun w/Power Wrist, Lapras w/ 1 X Speed
48, 50, 48, 48, 50, 50, 48, 48, 50, 54, 52, 50, 48, 50
avg 50 = 150 power
133/19 = 7
TRE's formula: Power = 133*25/19 = 175, so it becomes 150
My formula: Power = (133/19)^2 + 19*(133/19) = 182, so it becomes 150

I must thank Team Rocket Elite for his testing data, without which I couldn't find this better formula.

I think EXP Share doesn't pass over boosts from held items or PKRS. Just the base/standard EVs. I think in that scenario Skitty would only get 2 attack EVs, not 6.
Although, this is only from what I knew about the last generation.

Boa is correct here.

where do i have to go to get it?

The NYPC was changed to the Nintendo World Store (or something like that) and is no longer offering any special event Pokemon.

If i have a (cloned) ditto with these stats (careful)
hp / atk / def / satk / sdef / spd
27/27/31/1/31/30

*snip*

There is no exchange rate for Pokemon. You just make your offer and hope people will take it. Speaking of offers, PM me about that Ditto.

ok thanks, but i dont have it on diamond yet, i live in australia and it hasnt come out yet, like another week, so ill pm you in a week or two (if i remeber) if you still want it, note i will prob just put it in wifi trade when i get it so if you still want just offer when its up

Does Paralysis actually reduce speed, or does it just cause the pokemon to move later? I ask because I don't know whether it's a good idea to have a Gyro Baller using a move that could paralyse. If it only delays, it's a good idea. If it reduces speed, it will reduce Gyro Ball's power, which is a problem.

It actually changes the stat. If something has uber high speed, it may still move faster when it's paralyzed, instead of just "automatically" going later. If I recall correctly, it thirds the original speed.

Could something like this work as an Anti-Starter?

Infernape @ life orb
Naive
252 special attack/speed
mach punch
HP electric
grass knot
Flamethrower

i wanna use a starmie (not rapid spin) with 3 of these four move, surf, tbolt, ibeam and psychic (other is recover), wat move should i get rid of

Well, you need to look at the rest of your team and figure out what Starmie needs to be able to hit.

Each of those attacks has at least one pokemon you could OHKO with, but that all of the others are weak against. For instance, Surf is necessary against Camerupt, while the nearest, Psychic, will only be a 3HKO. Ice is required for handling Salamence (and presumably other Dragon types) with the rest being 3HKO or worse. Psychic is particularly good against Toxicroak, but not a lot else requires it, and Toxicroak is 2HKO'd by Surf (this, I assume, is why the person above me said drop psychic... but you must check the team, first). Thunderbolt is rather necessary against Gyarados, although it may still be a 2HKO, depending on its EVs and nature.

can weavile OHKO garchomp with no hp/def EVs with ice shard? if so, how much attack does weavile need? does it need to be CB'd/life orbed?

Actually, Toxicroaks run dry skin and are thus immune to water damage.

I think you get them inside of pokemon colosseum with poke coupons.

Or you can trade with me for them :-D
(Signature for the trade thread)

P.S. IIRC - Pokemon Battle Revolution will have these berries available also (For high prices though)

I don't know if anybody would know this for sure yet, but does Battle Revolution have the feature to boost Pokemon levels to 50 or 100 as it happens on WiFi Battles?

I wonder if simply registering random batches of Pokemon could help in IV checking.

Hi. I'm new here and to the competitive scene. I'm having a mite bit of trouble with my Porygon-Z and my party. I thought I was done, when I realized I didn't have anything to seriously combat a Water type (all I had was Grass Knot on my Infernape). I was thinking of replacing Infernape for a defensive-ish Grass type, but decided it against it.

So, my attention turned to Z. His current set is Nasty Plot, Ice Beam, Dark Pulse, Tri Attack. Now, I have two other pokemon who know Ice Beam, so I was thinking just swapping it out for Thunderbolt. I asked this on another forum I frequent, and the few competitive foke there weren't sure if missing the Boltbeamer set with the Dark Pulse / HP Fighting set was a good idea. I personally don't see much problem with it, but I thought I'd ask the more knowledgeable competitive community before making a decision.

Now that all the background is covered, here's the question:
Is it a problem if I mix the Boltbeamer and Dark Pulse / HP Fighting sets for Z?

~Dark Pulse
~Hidden Power [Fighting]
~Scheme
~Tri Attack / Thunderbolt

Schemed Adaptibilty STAB Tri Attack does more damage than a super effective Thunderbolt though

"Schemed Adaptibilty STAB Tri Attack does more damage than a super effective Thunderbolt though"

It does? Well, that settles the problem then. Thank you ^_^

Just so I'm sure, Scheme is just another name for Nasty Plot right? xD Sorry, I'm really new to the competitive side
