I've always considered Mantine a special wall, to an exstent
But it can't do much but sittin' there and maybe B.Pass a Mean Look r Toxic a foe, that's why it's so easy to counter, especially by a Fighting Poke (cof cof Heracross cof cof)
Don't be fooled. This is a common misconception. Using Rhyperior as a physical wall allows it to survive a multitude of common physical attacks (DD Gyarados' Waterfall, for example) thanks to Solid Rock and still KO back.i always thought that using rhyperior as a physical wall is an emmbarassment to his real potential an all out physical attcacker with chocie band

The Choice Bander is very risky to use, especially as there are now more Rock/Ground resisters than ever before. Bronzong is a good example of this. It can KO back with Grass Knot so unless you predict right with Megahorn, you leave your team vulnerable to a Hypnosis or possibly Trick Room setup.
Using Swords Dance/Substitute on the other hand with minimum attack allows for ease of prediction, and after one SD Rhyperior is STILL within 2HKO range of nearly everything in the game.
If you're that keen on Rhydon and a CB set, by all means give it a go. Its stats aren't that much different to Rhyperior, and it does have the added option of Double Edge, for all it is worth. Just remember though, Rhydon doesn't have Solid Rock, so its defensive potential is greatly diminished.hmm i must actually try that..i dont realy like rhyperior though because its so fat and lethargic, rhyDON was much cooler in advance

True mantine has that giant weakness but it can sometimes survive a hit. Also the main reason I suggested it is because my avatar is Its mutated baby. :]I don't really like Mantine because of that nasty 4x weakness to Thunderbolt, which, in my experience, is fairly common and means you can't handle non-choice sweepers that do have it.
