5th Gen Stall-Team

This is my Stall-team for the fith Generation. I'm playing it for a few months on Pokemonshowdown and it peak was at 1.825 Credits.

Team at a glance:

[pimg]477[/pimg] [pimg]628[/pimg] [pimg]623[/pimg] [pimg]113[/pimg] [pimg]73[/pimg] [pimg]609[/pimg]

The Team
#1
[pimg]477[/pimg]
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 184 Def / 252 HP / 72 Spd
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt

Gliscor is my Lead. It outspeeds a LOT of usual leads and can outspeed them and use Taunt or Earthquake. Its main task is using Stealthrock, because, well... you know... Stealthrocks are awesome! Protect is for getting HP back, or letting them die because of Will-o-Wisp or Toxic. Earthquake is against most of the users of a sunny day team. My only (STAB-)attack so nobody can Taunt me.
With the Ground/Flying type you can force every Choice Earthquake users change and you can wall any Electric-Pkmn.

#2
[pimg]628[/pimg]
Ferrothorn @Leftovers
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball

Ferrothorn is an awesome physical staller. Leech Seed is the most annoying attack since the first generation and if you are good at predicting you will always get some HP back. If you want to get ~18% HP back use protect. Protect is great for stalling with or without Leech Seed, because you can see which attack they are using and they will get damage from Toxic or Will-O-Wisp. Gyro Ball is the best attack you can use on Ferrothorn (I don't know why other people use Power Whip!?). With its STAB bonus you will OHKO ALL(!) fast sweeper like Dragonite, Alakazam, Jolteon etc.
Its typing is perfect: There are only a few fire attacks (and even less user of them) and together with Jellicent it can wall nearly everything.

#3
[pimg]623[/pimg]
Jellicent @Leftovers
Trait: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Recover
- Scald
- Shadow Ball
- Toxic(Edit)

Jellicent has so many tasks to fullfill, I hope I don't forget to mention all. At first you will ask youself:"Why Cursed Body and not Water Absorb?" - Answer: Because I don't have any problems with water attacks. Cursed body can disable the used move and this is (most of the time) they're biggest problem. Scald is a great attack, because you can burn the enemy (and the physical sweeper are useless) and does enough damage. STAB Shadow ball is nice too, because you will kill every Alakazam and Latios after a little bit of help from the rest of the team ;). Recover is obvious, I hope i don't have to explain. Will-O-Wisp is just there to cripple all the physical Sweeper out there.
Now the typing: Ghost/Water is great. This is against Rapid Spin user and against Fire and Fight attacks (Ferrothorns weakness).

#4
[pimg]113[/pimg]
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Thunderwave(Edit)
- Wish

Chansey is my favorite Pokemon. It is way bulkier than Blissey. Natural Cure is for taking the status at first and heal it again. The EV's are for taking a lot of damage and passing massive 352HP Wishes!!!! Wish is for healing other pokemon and it self together with Softboiled (you can heal yourself from 10% to 100%HP while the enemy predicts a switch or a protect in the second round. Toxic is for poison the enemys which are flying(if toxic spikes aren't out). Seismic toss is for making damage and maybe killing enemys(example: making 40% damage on Alakazam).

#5
[pimg]73[/pimg]
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Trait: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 240 Def / 252 HP / 16 Spd
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Protect

Tentacruel - OU since Obi's 4thGen. Stall team. Black Sludge is there for healing itself and crippling all the trick users out there (hell yeah!). "Trait: Liquid Ooze" - why? Tentacruel is my main Ferrothorn-counter. Leech seed won't help it and I can burn Ferrothorn with Scald. This will do ~24% damage each round. Toxic Spikes are awesome to poison enemys without taking one turn to use Toxic. Rapid spin is to get rid of all entry hazards and protect... well you know why.

#6
[pimg]609[/pimg]
Reuniclus @Life Orb
Trait: Magic Guard
EVs: 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- Trick Room
- Focus Blast
- Shadow Ball
- Psychcic

Suggestet by Red3mpti0n. works great on my team. It doesn't take damage from entry hazards and Life Orb which means it gets a 30% boost for free! Trick Room is just awesome for this slow bulky sweeper and the attacks together have a really nice type coverage. It can take out threats like Breeloom or can just do massive damage on other threats.

General tactic

As you see, my tactic is stalling the opponent to death. The best way to do this is bringing out Stealthrocks and Spikes (and maybe Toxic Spikes) and switching to a Counter for the enemy, usw Toxic, Will-O-Wisp or/and Leech Seed on the enemy and waiting with Protect and other Counters to force switches.

OLD MEMBER:

[pimg]91[/pimg]
Cloyster @ Focus Sash
Trait: Skill Link
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 SAtk
Naughty Nature
- Rock Blast
- Icicle Spear
- Shell Smash
- Ice Shard

Cloyster is an AWESOME sweeper with a massive defense (180Base). It will come in when all other 5 pkmn are dead. Every pokmeon of the enemy will be hurt if my 5 pokemon are dead and it is easy for Cloyster to kill them all. Focus Sash is to make sure I will get one boost. Rock Blast and Icicle Spear are all deadly after one Shell Smash and together with Ice Shard it can sweep through whole teams, especially if the are all already hurt and spikes and stealthrocks are out.

All in all: This team is able to stall most of the teams I met on Showdown. With the 5 stallers EVERY team will have its problem to kill me and with Reuniclus i have a nice offensive part AND TRICKROOM in my team :)

Just to mention: There is NO perfect team! There will always be a team which can kill yours so please remember this if you rate it ;) Please be nice, this is my first team I published and it would be great if you would be polite when you rate.

And pardon my english, I'm from Germany ;)

Great team, but i see MixApe creating problems for it. The standard set plows through 4 out of 6 of your team. If it carries Grass Knot, even Jellicent is almost assuredly 2HKO'd after SR, not to mention many of them actually use more than 4 SpA EVs.

I suggest TR Reuniclus > Cloyster. It's far more bulky, forces Infernape out and is just as powerful as Cloyster, if not more so. It's also a more of a problem for offensive teams and doesn't mind priority as much as Cloyster does.

Hi, nice team you have here.

Honestly I don't see how your team is weak to MixApe when you already have Jellicent and Tentacruel, both of which completely shut it down. Grass Knot doesn't even 3HKO Jellicent, lol.

Anyways, your team is very weak to Breloom (primarily the Technician set) as you have nothing to counter it except for Cloyster (and that's not exactly the best option because it can't switch in on a Bullet Seed). A smart choice you can make without changing your lineup is to put Stealth Rock > Toxic on Chansey and run Ice Fang > Stealth Rock on Gliscor. The team looks well built in general so if you felt comfortable with your 6 Pokémon already, this is the choice you should make.

Sorry I don't have time for a full rate, have to take driving tests >_<

Good luck man!

Hey.

Stall's pretty hard to pull off in this meta so good job with that. However a weakness I did spot was Thundurus-T, it can sweep your team if Chansey goes down and ice shard from Cloyster wont be able to OHKO it even after rocks. Honestly with 3 water pokemon electric moves in general can be somewhat of a problem however you can handle them rather well, the one thing is that Cloyster just doesn't seem to fit, it seems to want to take a different direction in the match than the rest of the team. Mix Hydreigon can also cause some hurt to this team as well being able to score a super effective hit on your team but this highly depends on the moveset so not much of a problem. There is also the trouble of offensive teams with Gothitelle who tends to destroy stall. So for this I would recommend swapping out Cloyster for Specially Defensive Jirachi. This allows you to wish pass to members of your team, helps against Thundurus-T if Chansey should go down and helps against Gothitelle. You could even opt to run Stealth Rock on it to free up a slot on Gliscor for Ice Fang or Acrobatics to help against your Breloom weakness either that or try and fit ice beam on to tentacruel. It also helps against hurricane spamming which could slowly dent your team due to a lack of resist against it. What you lose is the ability to revenge dragons with ice shard however and your sweeper which in my opinion doesn't fit too well as your team doesn't really aim to take out its counters and checks. Jirachi helps add to your stall team though and helps against SpDef Tyranitar. finally just in case you could try moving some EVs from your jellicent to Sp Atk, only 16 of them though, so that you guarantee the 2HKO on gothitelle with shadow ball. As others have said this team looks well built and good luck.

Jirachi set
94.jpg

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 224 SDef / 252 HP / 32 Spd
Careful Nature
- Wish
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Stealth Rock/Protect

Thanks for the tipps :)
The change you suggest is a great idea, because i have the problem to bring out SR a few times. I'll try it and tell you about it ;) And good luck at your tests ;) I passed them last friday ;)

Reuniclus is a good idea, but in my opinion it is not as good as cloyster. The advantage of being the fastest in the Trick room is really good, but it is only there for 5 rounds and even if it is bulkier, cloyster is some sort of a lategame sweeper for my team which kills nearly everything. I tried both now against the same teams making the same moves (with friends) and both work in my team. You have to make the choice which one you will use(if you want to play this team;)).

Thanks for the feedback. Jirachi is a great choice to add :) To come back to Cloyster: I found out, that 5 staller are nearly everytime enough to wall the opponents team and win the game so i decided to use Cloyster with a TOTALLY different playstyle than stall to destroy even anti stall teams and it totally worked.
Gothitelle - I have to tell, I NEVER met it :D It's honestly the first time I'm thinking about it ^^ but using Jirachi is a great idea! Thanks again :)
My problem with Jirachi is: I'd like to play my team on my White2 and it is not that easy to get a jirachi there ;)

Nice to see some people attempting stall in BW2; its a pretty daunting task! I think the biggest issue that your team has is that its pretty weak to weather-based offense teams. Rain teams are a problem because Tornadus-T can just spam Hurricanes, and Taunt + Superpower Chansey whilst getting free switch-ins against Gliscor. Sun is also an issue because Chansey is just set-up fodder for Venusaur, and Liquid Ooze Tentacruel is only annoying it at best. SD Rock Gem Terrakion is also pretty problematic for this team.

First thing off lets give you some weather control. I'd like to recommend Hippowdon over Gliscor. Even though Hippowdon can't switch-in on most Rain and Sun sweepers, its Sand Stream ability still goes a long way to keep those threats checked for a while. Hippowdon also brings a Rock resist to the team so you don't just get torn through by SD Terrakion. Hippowdon still fills many of the same roles as Gliscor by setting-up Stealth Rock and being a generally excellent tank.

The other major change I'd like to suggest is using a SDef Zapdos over Cloyster. Zapdos is one of the best answers to Rain offense in the current metagame, as it hard counters Tornadus-T and nothing wants to take a Thunderbolt or Heat Wave. Most rain teams at the moment really have no way of getting around Zapdos whatsoever, so it alone almost completely patches-up your Rain offens weakness. Zapdos is also a great answer to Breloom, who you are pretty weak to.

There are also some smaller suggestions I'd like to make. Firstly, try out Thunder Wave over Toxic on Chansey, as it turns Chansey into a very good Venusaur check and allows you to outspeed and OHKO with Zapdos. Losing Toxic on Chansey does make you a bit weaker to Volcarona, however, especially if they are partnered with Venusaur who can absorb Toxic Spikes. To get Volcarona checked again you can run Toxic over Will-o-Wisp on Jellicent. This also doubles up as a nice answer to Hidden Power [Ghost] Keldeo, who hates Toxic poison far more than a burn and takes it down much quicker. You could also try Taunt over Shadow Ball to check Calm Mind Reuniclus, as you prevent it from setting-up or Recovering so you can gradually wear it down with Scalds and hope Cursed Body activates on a Psyshock. Taunt also helps against opposing stall, although you'd probably want to run some more speed; 44 EVs beats the vast majority of Chansey, Blissey and Scizor, 84 EVs outspeeds minimum Speed Skarmory and 108 EVs beats standard 24 Spd Skarmory. This is up to you but I'd recommend running at least 44 EVs. Losing Shadow Ball on Jellicent makes you weaker to Starmie, who can PP stall Chansey if I recall correctly and you don't really have anything to hit it except Zapdos who doesn't really want to switch-in repeatedly if rocks are up. For this reason you should use Power Whip on Ferrothorn, which also helps with Politoed and other bulky waters.

edit: never suggested using power whip over gyro ball lol
Jellicent has practically no business staying in on Latios to Shadow Ball it when you have Ferrothorn and Chansey. Toxic is arguably better vs half the stuff you are hitting with Shadow Ball anyway, like Latias.

At first: thanks for your answer:) And now to your tipps and hints: It's obvious I have some weaknesses (no team is perfect) but i tried to reduce them to the pokemon which i nearly never met. weather teams are a threat, of course, but i still stalled EVERY weather team and took i out;)

Hippowdon over Gliscor: Seems like a nice idea, but I think it isn't. I will lack an earthquake resistance and taunt. Even if i would add Roar with Hippowdon to my team (I tried it, Hippowdon was my first choice for the stall team) i figuerd out gliscor is better.

Thunderwave Chansey - Great idea :) (how could I not see that!? >.<)

Taunt on Jellicent works great, but I really need Shadow ball to take out a lot of threats. Make it faster is an idea and I will start calculate if it is useful or not ;)

Power Whip over Gyroball - Just no. :D Ferrothorn OHKOed 4 pkmn of a dragon team in a row and can do massive damage on offense weather teams, because they all want to be the fastest.

Zapdos over Cloyster - Zapdos was in my team and it worked pretty well, but i'm playing Reuniclus right now (thanks Red3mpti0n) and it takes out more than i thought.

Thanks for the rating :)
