Go Ape$@#$! - a Sun and First RMT! (peaked 1700s)

So guys i just joined this forum for help and for someone to rate what is my most succesful drought team now

Now lets cut all the chitchat and just get on with the team:
38.png

Ninetales @ Leftovers
Trait: Drought
Evs: 252 hp, 4 Satk, 252 spe
-Flamethrower
-Substitute
-Will-O-Wisp
-Hidden Power (Ground)

Ninetales would probably be in NEU or maybe even made usable on Little Cup to make it fair if it wasn't for that amazing ability in Drought so she's forced as a staple for sun teams, and she's even type disadventageous against the other, more useful weather starters, but i still prefer sun cause my favorite type of pokemon (fire types) can take advantage of it and wreck shit.

As for the moves flamethrower for general STAB sub eases prediction and lets me burn threats that will try to cripple me and im not really sure about hp ground, it helps deal with heatran but so many players now run air balloon, so i could run hp fighting instead, but it barely scratches it...

Forretress @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 218 Def / 40 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Volt Switch
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Serves as physical wall, hazard setter and spinner.
Volt Switch and hp ice may seem or weird on something that has a base 60 special attack but its moves are extremely useful on the current ice-weak infested metagame, and 40SAtk evs are enough to 2hko most 4x weak to ice pokemon with hp ice. Its amazing typing gives it only one weakness, which is doubled in the sun (guess which it is -.-)

392.gif

Infernape @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Stone Edge
- Close Combat
- U-turn

Oh boy, easily the MVP of the team serves as revenge killer and late cleaner.
Infernape has always been my favorite Gen 4 pokemon and is still my favorite in Gen 5, I actually had Darmanitan in place of him as a scarfed revenge killer but its shitty speed makes it easily destroyed by common scarfers such as Landorus and Thundurus-T i wanted to replace it with something faster but none of the common ones could really take much advantage of the sun as him, then i stumbled upon this ape my favorite pokemon in the game with a massive 108 base speed stat and decent 104 attack made it the perfect replacement for Darm with its massive speed boosted by scarf can check many +1 threats and even some +2 ones such as Modest Venusaur in the sun and other cloryphyl users in the sun. But SPECIALLY Volcarona which would rip my whole team a new one if it wasn't for him, while i miss Darm's nuking abilities i already got other pokemon for that role, plus Flare Blitz is really powerful in the sun and if Blaze kicks in it will serevely dent anything with its sheer power I fucking love this ape set.

Latios (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psychic
- Trick
Serves as wallbreaker and another thing that can tank water moves and hit back hard.
Standard Specs set. Draco meteor will 2hko most things that do not resist it. HP fire in the sun also can serve as a third STAB move (hehe) Psychic is for general sweeping when i can't afford the stat loss of DM i could use Psyshock over it to hit the fat bitches but its weak as fuck and they aren't that common anymore, so i opt for good ol' Psychic. Trick cripples walls.

479-wash.gif

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 24 SAtk / 232 SDef / 252 HP
Calm Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp
Serves as hit tanker and crippler of physical types.
Rotom-W is a very important member of the team as it can tank any water and general special attacks with ease and cripple something back with WoW which miss all the time...

445f.gif

Garchomp @ Yache Berry
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Hasty Nature
- Swords Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Fang
- Earthquake
Serves as Wallbreaker and set-up Sweeper.
Garchomp was just released from Ubers and its back to kick OU wimps's ass!
After using Garchomp for a while (i didn't play when Garchomp was still around ) i can see why he ended up in Ubers, he's really fucking bulky and can take shrug off even 4x effective attacks with yache berry and continue sweeping and i can see how worse it was back in DPP as there wasn't as many fast threats as now and people were pretty much forced to run banded weavile to have a chance against it. He 2HKOs the whole metagame at +2 and sun boosted fire fang can even ohko some frail threats (such as Gengar) and his reistances and immunities help this team alot.

Of my problems the worst would probably have to be Trick Room Reuniclus as it 2hkos my whole team with its attacks and its really fucking bulky too. I can't really think of any other threats since i got an answer for all of them and bad playing is generally what dooms this team, lack of priority is also a pain whe something becomes faster than Infernape and is equally dangerous (which i totally NEVER let happen)

So any help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated :).

I've been also thinking of replacing a team member, probably Latios or Rotom W since they are the weakest links of my team, but i also need water resists.

Well, Venusaur always works well on a Sun team. He resists Water, and if you run a mixed Growth set with Earthquake you can even lure out and kill Heatran, which allows your other team-members to spam their Fire-moves more freely. Looking at the resistances, he could fit over Latios if you decide to give him a try.

Another thing you can consider is HP Fire on Rotom-W (which could fit over Thunderbolt) so you can can take out the likes of Scizor or Ferrothorn more easily. Both can be annoying for you one way or another (hazards / Bullet Punch vs Garchomp). It gets Sun boosted too.

There is also no reason to run a -Def nature on Garchomp if you're not running a special attack. A Jolly nature would fit much better, and doesn't let Garchomps decent bulk go to waste.

As for your problem with TR Reuniclus, Protect on Ninetales might help a bit to stall out Trick Room turns. Protect will also allow you to scout your opponents moves and give Ninetales an additional turn of Leftovers recovery.

Hi. Decent team. Venusaur is a beast under sun. I might also reccomend a breloom he help against opposing weather. What if ninetails dies before the foe sends in toed/hippo? What then? Well, breloom helps counter opposing weather so you can sweep with venusaur and your other pokemon. Seriously. Get a venusaur.

Venusaur@Big root
Modest/Timid
252spatk/252spd/4hp

Giga drain
HP fire
Sludge bomb
Growth

Hey there, pretty creative sun team. I am going to echo the words of Delko/evillocke and suggest a Venusaur over Rotom-W, however I would recommend a variant with Earthquake. For the most part, Rotom-W is dead weight on Sun Teams, as his main STAB is neutered. While he can still provide momentum with Volt Switch, I think that Venusaur would serve a better role. At the moment, your team is troubled a lot by Heatran, as it can wall the majority of your team and tanks most hits. For this reason I think using a mixed Growth Venusaur would work well. It does a decent job at luring Heatran out and can then swiftly KO him, letting the rest of your team function properly. While running Earthquake Venusaur would help a lot with sweeping through Heatran, but switching in still looks troublesome. For this reason I would recommend changing Latios to a LO + 3 Attacks variant, so you have a pivot that can come in on and threaten Heatran.
Here are the sets:
003.gif

Venusaur (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Chlorophyll
EVs: 96 Atk / 244 SAtk / 168 Spd
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Growth
- Giga Drain
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Fire]

381.gif

Latios (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fighting] / Ground
- Recover
While the EV's on Venusaur do not outright OHKO Heatran, they do a hefty amount while still preserving your attacking power on the Special side. After a Growth EQ will always OHKO. On Latias, Hidden Power Fighting can be used to hit both Heatran and Tyranitar really hard, but has the downside of lowering your speed. Hidden Power Ground can be used if you are worried about the lower Speed, and want to hit Heatran harder.

Hi, i had already replaced Latios with a Veno before any of you guys posted XD, i really like your suggestion of HP fire on Rotom-W (seriously why didn't think of that before? ) i still have problems with reuni though, not only it is an overpowered bitch, she's also REALLY bulky and pretty hard to take down, so i still need a suggestion for that x_x
