Yep, as I said in the title, this is my first Gen. V team. I've played competitively with friends in Gen. IV a while ago, but this is the first time I've tried to stay up to date and actually compete.
Help would be fantastic. Thanks.
Mew @ Lum Berry
Trait: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 188 Sp.D / 70 Spd
Bold Nature
- Rock Polish
- Baton Pass
- Sword’s Dance
-Nasty Plot Psychic
Lead. As you can see from the moveset, there really isn’t anything Mew can do apart from Baton Passing. Thanks to Mew’s inherent unpredictability, however, none of the stat boosting moves should immediately give away my plan to Baton Pass, instead giving the impression that I’m merely setting up with Mew. A single Rock Polish should be good enough to make Darmanitan and Gyarados incredibly troublesome for opponents, and a possible Sword’s Dance would make either of them nigh-on indestructible, as well as giving Jirachi a very effective boost as well. Nasty Plot would only really be effective on Latios, but thanks to Mew and Jirachi’s unpredictability, a Nasty Plot shouldn’t be too predictable of a switch into Latios.
Darmanitan @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 Attack / 252 Spd / 4 Sp.D
Adamant Nature
- Superpower
- Flare Blitz
- U-Turn
- Earthquake
Darmanitan – Destroyer of Worlds. I absolutely adore this guy, let me tell you. Used through and through as a physical sweeper, I plan to use Darmanitan alongside Mew, with a Rock Polish boost hopefully allowing Darmanitan to wipe the floor with, well, just about everything. STAB Flare Blitz with Sheer Force and a Life Orb is sure to put a dent in any walls Darmanitan is put up against, and Superpower and Earthquake give plenty of extra coverage. A single Rock Polish should also be enough for Darmanitan to outspeed most threats, allowing it to U-Turn out if put in danger, while still dealing good damage.
Blissey @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Defense / 252 Sp.D / 4 HP
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy
A typical Blissey set, really. Mostly used to stall out any walls if necessary, or support the rest of the team with Wish and Aromatherapy.
Latios @ Life Orb
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 Sp.A / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Hidden Power Fire (68)
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Psyshock
Latios’ moveset gives it a ton of coverage, making it a very effective sweeper, especially when boosted by Mew with a Nasty Plot or Rock Polish. The moveset’s about as standard as it gets, but why mess with what works?
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224Sp.D Defense / 32 Spd
Careful Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Iron Head
- Thunder Punch
- Ice Punch
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t at least slightly looking forward to pissing people off with this guy. Iron Head benefits from its usual STAB + Serene Grace use, Thunder Punch and Ice Punch grant some extra coverage, and Thunder Wave effectively cripples any pesky sweepers.
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Attack / 252 Spd / 4 Sp.D
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Tail
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Dragon Dance
Swapping Moxie for Intimidate, Gyarados serves as both an effective revenge killer and sweeper. A boost from Mew would start it off with a huge boost in power or speed to begin with, or in the case that Gyarados is sent out without a boost, Dragon Dance can be used to set up for a huge sweep. Dragon Tail serves as a counter to other boosted sweepers, and also works to ruin some of the opponent’s momentum. Waterfall and Bounce work as ordinary STAB moves, providing decent enough coverage to keep Gyarados on the field for a while.
Help would be fantastic. Thanks.
