Introduction
Hey guise.Whats up?. So today i am going to RMT my OU HO team. I made this team for Wi-Fi battles (DS battles) and i won almost all the matches with it until i got BW2 and forgot about this team. Then 2 months ago i was playing my Black and i found this team. I though to play on PS with this team. And after that i was able to get #1 ranking with it on PS OU ladder but unfortunately ladder got reset. I m going to ladder with it on PO too but i m going to ladder on Ubers first. I made this team with Princess AR. She is an extremely skilled player. Although this team looks similar to IFM's team, but it is different.
Anyways without further delay, Lets take a look at the team.
Team At A Glance:
Team Cores:
Team Building Process:
In-Depth Analysis:
Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Atk / 36 HP / 220 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Fire Punch
- Iron Head
- Ice Punch
- Healing Wish
Jirachi. This cute looking Pokemon is a monster in reality. With Choice Scarf and it Decent base 100 speed it can out speed and revenge kill many pokemons. With its "Decent" base 100 Atk it is a really good revenge killer, not as good as Terrakion but still good. Iron Head is its main move plus its a stab move too. And does good amount of damage to anything that doesn't resist it. It also has a sexy 60% chance to flinch making it much more deadly.
Ice Punch let it revenge kill dragons types who otherwise can be pain for me. Fire Punch let me hit those steel types namely Ferrothorn and Scizor. Healing Wish let me fully cure my sweeper like D-Nite, i use this when i m on low health. I am running Jolly nature to hit max speed. EVs are simple max Attack, and 220 Speed let it oputspeed modest scarfed latios/latias and rest are dumped in HP.
Why?
As my team is based around dragons, i needed something to that have good synergy with my team. And every team needs a scarfer so jirachi is a good scarfer. You can use terrakion if u want.
Possible Changes?
You can change it to Sub CM set if u r going with Scarfed Haxorus. But otherwise it is a "Decent" scarfer.
Haxorus @ Choice Band
Trait: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Aqua Tail
- Earthquake
- Superpower
Haxorus and Choice Band go together like peanut butter and jelly, as it boosts Haxorus's already amazing Attack to an absurd 648. There are very few Pokemon that can claim to counter Choice Band Haxorus, as virtually everything gets at best 2HKOed by an appropriate attack. Even the bulkiest physical walls, including Hippowdon, Slowbro, and Tangrowth, will be unable to keep up with Haxorus's onslaught, and because many Steel-types are 2HKOed by him as well, Haxorus is as close to "uncounterable" as they come.
Even though Choice Band Outrage is incredibly powerful, Haxorus's coverage moves should be used to weaken his checks before really cutting loose with Outrage. One of the strongest physical Fighting-type moves, Superpower, has been made available to Haxorus, and with it comes the ability to utterly destroy most Steel-type switch-ins. For example, Ferrothorn, a Pokemon that was once a good check to Choice Band Haxorus, is now hard-pressed to switch into Haxorus, as Superpower will easily OHKO with a bit of prior damage. Superpower is actually as strong as a STAB Dragon Claw, so it's a good idea to use it in situations where Haxorus needs to do damage without being locked in. Earthquake is a bit weaker than Superpower, but complements Outrage well by nailing grounded Steel-types, and thanks to Mold Breaker, Levitate users such as Bronzong, Gengar, and Rotom-W must think twice about switching in. Aqua Tail is used solely to deal heavy damage to Skarmory, Forretress, Landorus-T, and Gliscor, all of which face being 2HKOed from switching into a rain-boosted Aqua Tail. It should go without saying, however, that Aqua Tail demands the use of Politoed as a partner to function and is practically useless without the boost from rain. Dragon Claw exists as a weaker alternative to Outrage; it may not kill everything, but it's still a damaging move option that doesn't lock Haxorus in.
Why?
My team is based on dragons, so haxorus is compulsory in it. CB haxorus can tear teams apart. You can use Scarfed haxo if u want.
Possible Changes?
You can try Dual Chop > Aqua Tail / Superpower to break through sub. You can also try Choice Scarf on it. Scarfed Haxo is good too.
Magnezone @ Choice Specs
Trait: Magnet Pull
EVs: 172 HP / 252 SAtk / 84 Spd
Modest Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Flash Cannon
- Volt Switch
Magnezone. I just love this Pokemon. It does a wonderful job of eliminating those steel types (Bar Heatran) for me. It can easily kill two most important threats namely Scizor and Ferrothorn. Magnezone's raw power is displayed in this set. With a high base 130 Special Attack and Choice Specs, Magnezone can plow through almost all of OU, bar Blissey and Chansey. This set's goal is to wallbreak through the opposing team, leaving an opening for a sweeper to clean up. Volt Switch is used to gain momentum throughout the match as well as to switch out when sensing danger. Hidden Power Fire allows Magnezone to KO Steel-types easily. Flash Cannon is Magnezone's primary STAB move, providing neutral coverage with no immunities, while Thunderbolt is the secondary STAB move.
Why?
Steel types are big problem for my team, and manezone does a great job of cleaning them up. Magnezone is must for this team.
Possible Changes?
Nothing this thing is perfect.
Garchomp @ Focus Sash
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stealth Rock
Garchomp is also a core of this team. Garchomp is no one-dimensional hard-hitter, he can also securely set up Stealth Rock for the team, handling most spinners between his dual STABs. Swords Dance works in the last slot to give Garchomp a secondary role as a setup sweeper. Focus Sash is be used to make Garchomp a fantastic lead, as he is one of the fastest Stealth Rock users in the tier. If Terrakion hits Garchomp, Rough Skin will break its Focus Sash, resulting in an easy OHKO with Earthquake. Rapid Spin users, such as bulky Starmie, Forretress, and Tentacruel, are almost no problem for this set, as most of them are KOed easily, allowing Stealth Rock to be kept up on the field. This reduces the need for a spinblocker on the team. All in all garchomp is perfect for this team.
Why?
Ever team needs SR. Which is best move in the game imo. So grachomp can setup SR like a boss. It also put great amount of pressure on my opp.
Possible Changes?
You can try Sub Salac Garchomp as it is very good. But u need SR to getcrucial KO's.
Garchomp @ Salac Berry
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Outrage / Dragon Claw
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
Latias @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 196 HP / 60 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Calm Mind
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psyshock / Roost
Latias is second core of my team. This set is probably the one that takes the most advantage of Latias's fabulous qualities. Her respectable Special Attack, base 110 Speed, and fantastic Special Defense allow her to switch in repeatedly over the course of a match to either take hard hits or to set up for a sweep. She is probably the only Pokemon in OU that can check all of Keldeo, Breloom, Infernape, Terrakion, Thundurus-T, and a variety of sun and rain sweepers at the same time, all the while remaining a long-term offensive threat. One thing to always remember is that Latias is not a Pokemon that you would pull out and immediately try to sweep with, but is instead used to defend against the aforementioned threats and only attempt to sweep when all her counters have been eliminated. Unlike Latios, who specializes in immediate firepower, Latias is better known for her role as a supporting sweeper. Calm Mind and Roost allow Latias to switch in constantly into many threats while boosting her Special Attack as well as her already massive Special Defense repeatedly. Dragon Pulse is her main STAB attack. The last move is extremely variable, and depends on what role Latias is playing in the team and what kind of EV spread she is running. I sometime use Roost, depending on my mood :3 The crux of this set is Calm Mind. After just a single Calm Mind it can Heavily dent most things. Leftovers helps her to sweep by constantly healing her a bit every turn.
Why?
I can't make a team of all physical sweeper. And latias is good special sweeper thanks to her high defenses.
Possible Changes?
I sometimes use Roost > Psyshock. But otherwise it is a good set. You can give it 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd EV spread too.
Dragonite @ Lum Berry
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 32 HP / 224 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- ExtremeSpeed
Last but not least Dragonite. Dragonite is the 3rd and last core of the team. Everyone knows how deadly Lance's dragonite are. Well mine is no exception. While in previous generations Dragonite was often overlooked in favor of the much faster Salamence, Multiscale gives it a major boost that puts it on the forefront of Dragon Dance sweeping. With Multiscale, provided that Stealth Rock is off the field, Dragonite is the only Dragon-type that can claim to have a guaranteed turn of setup, which rivals Salamence and Haxorus only wish they could have. It can even set up on and KO Starmie and Latias, both of which would otherwise have their way with slower Dragon-types. Once set up, very few Pokemon in OU can take on the menace that is boosted Dragonite, allowing it to rip apart teams if left unchecked.
Outrage and Dragon Claw. Outrage is much more powerful, so powerful that it 2HKOes offensive Heatran with a +1 boost, meaning that with it and Fire Punch Dragonite can hit every Pokemon in OU for a large amount of damage. Dragon Claw is another option, having much less power but giving Dragonite the option to switch moves. Outrage pairs well with ExtremeSpeed, as the combination of the two allows Dragonite to continue its sweep against faster revenge killers, such as Keldeo, Thundurus-T, Latios, and Haxorus. Earthquake allows Dragonite to beat Pokemon that rain teams in particular often have trouble with such as Tentacruel, Jirachi, and Heatran.
Why?
Dragonite is simply a beast. Thanks to multiscale it can setup with ease and sweep teams on its own.
Possible Changes?
Nothing this thing is perfect. Though u can try EQ > Fire Punch. And Roost > ExtremeSpeed.
Counclusion
.
Threats:
Metagross can be a threat in rain. Due to its massive bulk it can be hard to take down. However I counter it depending on what move it has. If it has EQ then my Dnite can counter it, if it has Ice Punch then magnezone. Latios can also deal huge amount of damage with Rain boosted Surf.
In neutral weather Magnezone can easily 2HKO it with HP fire. However in rain it is a pain in the ASS. I usually use trick on it to cripple it for the entire match.
My mamoswine can OHKO it after SR with ease. But if my mamo is down then it can be a problem.I usually counter it depending on what set it is running if it is scarfed then Latios. If it is running RP set then Dnite can 2HKO it with ES.
It is not hard to counter. If it is scarfed the my Dnite/Latios can counter it. If it is banded then Jirachi can beat him with ease.
Watch out for Life Orb Scizors cuz after SD they can sweep ur team (If magnezone is down) otherwise magnezone can out speed and OHKO it.
The pokemons I mentioned above are the only true threats (or atleast thats what I think). Anything else doesn't give me that much problem. No team is perfect, as every team has its flaws. And my team is no exception.
Lastly if you want to use my team u can use it. Its not perfect as i said before. And just because i got #1 ranking with it doesn't mean it will make you #1 player lol. Anyways here is the importable.

Team At A Glance:

Team Cores:

Team Building Process:
Since i wanted to make a HO team, I was initially using Deoxys-D because it was able to setup Hazards with ease.
But unfortunately Deoxys-D was shifted to Ubers. So i couldn't use it anymore. I then changed it for Mamoswine. Because I didn't care about Hazards much. I just needed SR and Mamoswine is a pretty good SR user, and also it can scare those Dragons who roams around in OU.
I needed a physical sweeper and the first thing that came to my mind was Dragonite. I used DD nite for some time but Ferrothorn was making my life a living hell thanks to leech seed and protect. It would easily stall the shit outta me. So i selected another beast best DD user aka Haxorus.
I needed a special sweeper and i immediately thought to use Latios. As it is my Favorite Pokemon. It is also a beast. Having the most powerful Draco Meteor in OU. It is a force to be reckoned.
I wanted to use Dragonite because its simply a beast. But i was already using DD haxorus. So Princess AR suggested me to use a Banded D-Nite. I gave it a chance and it was working great so i chucked him in.
Next i needed something to counter those steel types. Which otherwise would wall my dragons from sweeping. I choose Magnezone. Its ability and High Special Attack stat let it trap and kill all steel types in OU (Except Heatran). It also kills both threats named as Scizor and Ferrothorn. It also has good synergy with my dragons.
I needed a Revenge Killer as my last Pokemon. And i selected Terrakion for this job. Because its simply a beast. With its two STAB moves which provide near perfect coverage it can easily revenge kill anything. Hell, it can even sweep teams late in the game with its Powerful Close Combat.
I was using Terrakion as my revenge killer but my team was way to weak to Ice and Dragon types and I noticed that I was putting to much strain on Magnezone so i selected Jirachi as my scarfer. As it has good bulk and has expensive movepool.
But unfortunately Haxorus was too frail to run DD then i changed haxorus to Choice Band set and Dnite to DD set.
I also changed magnezone to Choice Specs set, because it couldn't 2HKO ferro without specs in rain. I changed Latios to Latias because i didnt wanted two specs user. And changed Mamo to SD garchomp.

So here is my team. Its pretty good. If you want to make changes you can do it. I got the team idea from IFM's team. I was really inspired by his idea, so i thought to make a similar team. Special thanks to Princess AR who helped me making some Evs and stuff. Thanks to everyone else who help me testing it and other stuff
