The Staller Next Door

This is a 1v1 team that I made. It's for the new game mode, 1v1.

Obviously, it's 1v1. So, it's one pokemon. Let's get started!

I call it The Staller Next Door.

Whimsicott

Obviously, it's the only thing on this team. I experimented with basically everything in this meta, and I've decided that this is not only my favorite set, but also the most successful.

The set:

Whimsicott @ Focus Sash|Prankster
Timid- 248 HP/8 SpD/252 Speed
-Protect
-Substitute
-Leech Seed
-Hurricane

Protect Sub/Seed is the obvious part. The strategy is as follows:

Turn numero uno: I always start Protect. Not only do you get to see what they're going to do, but it allows you to choose your next move.

Turn two: Seed. This is the cornerstone of this set. You miss, and they do more than 50% damage, that's almost always game. Seed allows you to consistently game ~13-16 HP, and that's the core of the strategy.
Uh oh! They've now hit you. You're going to die, not. Focus Sash, remember? Survive that first hit, it's probably the only one they'll ever get on you. At this point, you're at 1 HP plus the Seed at the end of the turn.

Turn three: You might be wondering what's going on, how this is supposed to be a "stall". Well, click that Protect button. You just survived another hit. Now, you're at ~14 HP%, add in another 14% from seed.

Turn four: What's this? Your HP is higher than 25%? Click that Substitute button, buddy, and survive your next hit.

Seed brings you back to that beautiful 14-15%, and the cycle continues. I think you can figure it out from here!

That's the strategy. Every single time I used, I did extremely well, with multiple players copying me, and people specifically blocking my beautiful Stallsicott.

The Threats:

Given the fact that this set is literally centered around stalling out your opponent, there are very few counters, and one of them is an unintentional counter:

Number one: Multi-hit movers, such as Cloyster or Cinccino
The fact that they can knock out the sub, and the sash, means that your strategy is effectively null and void.
This is the first area where a hurricane comes in handy. It's mostly luck, but a crit here or a confusehax there makes this thing survive to see another turn.

Number two: Counter-stallers, such as Magic Coat or Recovery Users:
Ugh, the bane of my existence. Recover literally ruins this set, unless they're an idiot or they forget to recover one turn. Also crits.
Magic coat is easier to deal with, just get a sub out, and either trick them so you can seed, or just Hurricane all day, baby.

Number three: Mons with really low health:
What's that? That makes no sense! Yeah, it does. Leech Seed drains their health, and converts it into yours. A pokemon with low health that drains will often gain a higher % health back. A pokemon being drained with low health will give relatively low amounts of health for you, which is a pain in the neck. This is the largest unintentional threat, the answer I always give is just double protecting, and hoping for the best.

Number four: Grass types:
Easy solution: Hurricane all day. The main grass type in this meta is Breloom, which is often OHKO'd by a single Hurricane. Easy pickings.

Good luck using the set!

Iron Manatee out.

Okay, I see a problem with your "team" already. Even though Hurricane can deal with Grass-types, it has lower Accuracy than some other, more useful moves. I suggest putting in either Taunt or Toxic in the last slot instead, since Breloom can still shut you via Spore if your Hurricane misses. Then he can proceed to murder you with the low BP Mach Punch or just try to all-out kill you with Low Sweep, or just straight up set up a Swords Dance and proceed to sweep. And for the low HP mons problem, just make your HP as low as possible, or just make your Whimsicott a Lv.1 staller

It doesn't make sense to run ANY HP evs. If you have more HP, you have higher HP subs, and therefore it is much harder to stall.

Redistribute those to Def/SpD as needed

Or special attack to hit with hurricane decently. That would also justify running Whimsicott over lvl 1 Cottonee

First: On the argument about hurricane: I've gotta kill it somehow. If I run Taunt or Toxic, it'll just be bad news bears if they have poison heal, or they're steel type. Or if they just don't care about it. The reason I run hurricane is twofold: First, if they have low health, to finish them off before I get desperate. Second, because it gives me options.
Whenever I hit a Breloom, I beat it. The only reason I've lost to a breloom was hax. That's it.
