I don't have a 3DS yet. :(
Anyways when was it confirmed that the move used by chespine, honedge and talonflame on golurk, octillery and haunter respectively was Ariel Ace?
It is pretty much confirmed. It even has a similar animation to Aerial Ace in BW and BW2.

Anyways when was it confirmed that the move used by chespine, honedge and talonflame on golurk, octillery and haunter respectively was Ariel Ace? In Serebi, it says so in the known moves of the pokemon above.

I think it would be a great idea to be able visit other regions. Getting other regions starters like in HG and SS would also be pretty good.
Yes, WELL! Serebii doesn't have it listed because we don't know if Chespin learns it by level up, TM or as an egg move, but it's Aerial Ace because of the following screenshot:
aerialace_zpsa37a5c2c.png

Honedge's Japanese name, Hitotsuki, looks like this; ヒトツキ
Aerial Ace's Japanese name, Swallow Return, looks like this; つばめがえし
Both of those lines of Japanese text are in the screenshot, save for the behind the in ヒトツキ, but that's a linguistic bit that says that Honedge is attacking, or something (I can't read it, but it's something like a possessive particle.)
The text in this screenshot translates roughly into "Hitotsuki used/uses Swallow Return"
And then it uses the same attack animation that was used when Talonflame attacked Haunter and when Chespin attacked Golurk.

IT'S AERIAL ACE

So, anyone interested in seeing other regions return? I hope the "scoop of the century" is that we can visit all the other regions in X&Y. Also, those Railway Tracks are leading into the ground. Could there be a town underground? Or maybe a post-game area?
can we please please go one pre-release without I HOPE WE CAN GO TO AN OLD/ALL REGION(S)
If they were all in (or even just one other, in all likliehood), they would be hideously cut down in size and things to do, to think nothing of the horrible level curve

if the train leads anywhere to the east, it's likely some town or maybe a slightly extended post-game area (think the Battle Zone island in sinnoh)
And something tells me that would be kept under wraps for you to discover yourself.

The "scoop of the century" will be the reveal of 20+ pokémon in the lengthiest Corocoro issue we've ever had.

Or maybe that second Mewtwo forme not even the movie mentioned.

How does everyone think transferring between 5th gen games will be handled? If 3DS games can't communicate with DS games, I don't see how they can make it work. but if they did find a way, I'm sure we'd have another "Pal Park".

Revealing, albeit 20 Pokmon couldn't be called "the scoop of the century". It probably is about the Mewtwo forme. Or I hope it has something to do with the altered game mechanic that Masuda mentioned.

Scoop of the century?
Spritzee is a quack. That will be the scoop.

If there's anything that they've been cryptic about that I'd appreciate having explained is the big secret behind Vivillon's wings. A part of me thinks it'll be something obscenely pointless, like...
Vivillonlayout.png

While I fear that the "secret" mentioned may just be Pokedex fluff, I'm hoping that Vivillon's wings will have multiple varied patterns based on its IVs, similarly to Spinda's spots, simply because it'd be interesting. If not that, then maybe there is a strikingly noticeable gender difference?

Unless the scoop of the century is not A SINGULAR SCOOP LIKE I CONTINUE TO SAY
it could very easily just be a TON OF THINGS relating to XY

Besides it is a japanese children's magazine designed to shove as much junk into its phone book sized "magazine" that exaggerates everything to near comedic levels (take a shot every time they over use an exclamation point oh no now you're dead)

Also why would a second mewtwo form be a century scoop, but not 20 pokemon, anyway

The best way I can see is making some sort of app that can communicate with the DS cart, store the pokemon, then put them in XY
Even if that is just as difficult to do, if they can't get it working how they want in XY proper, I can easily see them continuing to work on it as an app after the games are done

Well I can think of more convoluted methods but I doubt GF would ever resort to them

P-po-

Ported the Gen 5 engine?

.... Dude. The Gen 5 engine isn't designed to compute 3D models of that magnitude. It would fail.

Also another thing

If XY really is an engine port, than why is it so hard to transfer data between the two games? They seem to be having trouble with that at the moment.

Also I'm pretty sure you guys don't know what a "port" is. Ocarina of Time 3D is not a port.
OoT 3D used the same engine with improved graphics. It's an enhanced port, which is why it still has many of the same glitches. The same goes for Wind Waker HD. If you're you're denying that those are ports, then you don't know what a port is.

And it seems clear to me that X/Y is using an enhanced version of the engine. This doesn't look like it was build from the ground up at all.

EDIT: It's not the textures that bother me, but rather the lines between textures in some areas. Admittedly, it is improved a lot in some recent shots.

1.7 GB wouldn't be nearly enough for all regions in full 3D. Nothing short of a DVD could hold that, assuming the same graphics, and it would take at least 5 years to make such a huge game. So, that's shot.

Well at least you stopped saying it was just a ported over version of the engine
Actually, I assumed that it would be automatically implied that the engine was enhanced. Generally, any engine ported over to any platform has to be edited to work, especially if you do something different.

Sorry, just when I think "port" I think...port.

As far as i know a 3ds game card can have up to 16 GB, and ds game cards up to 510 Mg (correct me if i am wrong) but this would mean it can b e like 30 times as big as pokemon B/W 2.

Looking at how big Pokemon b/w 2 was, X/Y can be gigantic with tons of new stuff. To me B/W 2 looked like normal b/w but then with more stuff i got the idea while playing b/w 2 that gamefreak was working on something bigger (x/y?) which means they could've been working on this game for years alreeady.

Sorry, just when I think "port" I think...port.
When talking about game that are effectively meant to be other games, for example... Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, I always correct my friends. They will often call them "remakes" when in actuality they did not build the games again from the ground up. A remake would be something like Metroid Zero Mission, a GBA remake of the original metroid. I use the word port though, for when a game is made by taking an original product and polishing it. It's not exactly a port like the Nintendo Virtual Console, but it's certainly closer to a port than a remake assuming that is the spectrum. If anyone can come up with a better word for refurbished games like Ocarina 3D, I'd be happy to adopt it into my mental lexicon.
Perhaps also a word for games that simply used another's engine for basis like how Dinosaur planet(Starfox Adventures) was built off of Ocarina of time.

It's clear that you are just assuming these things and you have no actual evidence...

The 3DS can't read any data designed for the Nintendo 64. It's not designed to be that versatile. If it was, not only would we have 3DS emulations, but we would be able to quote-on-quote "jailbreak" our 3DS and run emulations of our own. The code for Ocarina of Time most likely had to be almost completely remastered and remade, which would make it a REMAKE and not a PORT.

What convoluted methods did you have in mind? I could see them talking about an app that will come out a month or so after the game is released. I can't see them just completely getting rid of transferring between 5th gen games. Especially when they know how much everyone wants it.

"Porting code" is the process of taking code written for a given machine and alter it so that it may be executed on a different machine. Changes made depend on the differences between the origin and target machine. Porting code is in no way even similar to rewriting code from scratch, which would be the case for a remake.

Maybe you can store your pokémon online in the Global Link page, and then download them to your 3DS.

What types do you guys think will be there in the elite 4? I'm thinking fairy ( maybe fairy gym leader), poison or steel and fighting.
They might finally introduce a dark type gym leader.
The "scoop of the century" will be the reveal of 20+ pokémon in the lengthiest Corocoro issue we've ever had.
Come on, 20+ pokemon? Remember they need to work as secretively as possibly. The August Corocoro might just be the second evolution of the starters and some more information about the rivals or professor or team flare. If we are lucky, They might show of some more gyms or gym leaders or even how the sprite animations will work. Just think how someone will just appear out of nowhere and say some words and disappear again into the side or anywhere. That would be pretty weird.
I am almost 100% sure that the champion will have an overpowered fairy on his/her team. Maybe a Fairy/Electric with levitate?

We still don't know Fairy's resistances, immunities or full offenses. If we are to believe in WPM's rumor, and it's safe to say we can, then Fairy/Ground is the best overall combo for Fairies. Dunsparce, I'm looking at you.
