Does My Team From 4 Years Ago Still Work? (Stall)

Edit: Redid Hippowdon, Tyranitar, and Latias moves. Making the whole team updated with the 2013 metagame! 2009 is over baby!

So I played a stall team way back when and I just want to see if I can still use this.

It's been awhile since I've talked about competitive Pokemon, so if I screw up a term or something I apologize. Kinda re-learning haha but anyway here we go!!

Skarmory @ Custap Berry
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Brave Bird
- Taunt

My man Skarmory, this guy started out the games pretty strong. Basically he has one job, get rocks and spikes out, get a taunt in or two and land some free damage. Him surviving after that is kinda irrelevant unless a Starmie comes into play. He just set's up the match and makes it easier for my fellow folks. Love this guys setup.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Calm Nature
- Softboiled
- Aromatherapy
- Flamethrower
- Toxic

I love this girl man, I loved her in the TCG (My Blissey deck from the Mysterious Treasures set though? You don't even know.) and her being a monster in the game is just icing on the cake. On top of Skarmory spikes I plan to poison the whole team. Than I just chill with attacks and softboil and stay in at all costs. The key is for her to stay in as late as possible with aromatherapy because thats a game-winning move imo. Spores and Toxic's don't mean NOTHING.

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 180 HP/252 Att/76 Spe
Adamant Nature
-Crunch
-Stone Edge
-Pursuit
-Superpower

Tyranitar is finna sweep. I like using him or Lucario in the late game to clean up the mess, I also really like him to get rid of Rapid Spinners and such as effective as possible. Really strong, he just gets the quick and easy results the team needs

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/4 Sp.D/252 Def.
Impish Nature
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
-Slack Off
-Stealth Rock

I really like this guy, very versatile moves, dragon killer, if Skarmory gets spun on he can come in and lay some rocks. Earthquake just cuz... yanawwhatimsayian? His goal is just to get consistent damage and stay out as long as possible and he's quite the tank so it works pretty well.

Latias @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/4 Sp.A/252 Spe
Timid Nature
-Calm Mind
-Roost
-Dragon Pulse
-Psyshock

I just switched his move pool and I must say its working out really well. Similar to my hungry hungry hippo except faster, counters a different set of OU's, and with Calm Mind can get the quicker kills.

Lucario @ Life Orb
Trait: Inner Focus
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
- Swords Dance
- Close Combat
- Extreme Speed
- Crunch

My go-to sweeper, like the go-to guy if I need to just get RID of someone. I mean he was sick in that movie from way back when right bruh? How would he be bad in this? You knew when you got the egg from that guy you were in for some mystical stuff. Just great damage, swords dance all day and just come in and wreck.
----------

So yeah, sorry if this isn't much. I really want to get back into the game again and need as much feedback as possible. Hook a broski up. Please and thank you! Hope to battle with all of yall soon. :)

No I don't beleive this will work out specialy because of the crippling fighting weakness you have with only latias to resist. A more moddern sand stall would look like, Hippowdon/ Roserade/ Skarm/ Jelicent pokemon like that. Also these sets are out of date for the most part, you can make something similar work for sure, but just look on smogon's sets to find what you need. Also sub calm mind Latias on a stall team is amazing ;D

This team isn't that bad actually in stucture, it definitely needs some tune ups though. IMO this team really isn't full stall, but like semi-stall, so I will give you options on both sides, enough though I am biased towards stall.

You have 3 Stealth Rock users, what!?... for now, Hippowdon is the only one that I suggest runs it, if you think that you want them later, toss them on I guess.

Payback is just bad now, it no longer doubles its power on the switch easily replace with Crunch. Tyranitar shouldn't really be running Chesto-Rest at all, just run a set of Crunch / Pursuit / Stone Edge / Superpower. If you want something more offensive, consider the Choice Band or Choice Scarf Tyranitar on site.

Considering the more defensive nature of this team, and the idea that you are aiding for stall, just run the Physically Defensive set on site. If you really want to, runt he Custap lead...just make sure that it is the one with Stealth Rock.

Latias is a bit of a mixed bag here, in the current metagame, you need Latias at the moment to check Keldeo, so any set must have Psyshock. The Calm Mind Latias on site with Psyshock might work, you may also want to consider a Reflect Type Latias with Dragon Pulse / Roost / Psyshock (EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe Timid). But seeing as the original version of this seems to be a speciala attacker, the Offensive Latias on site may work. Don't forget, Latios is legal, so you can use that to.

You may also want to run a Physically Defensive Hippowdon, seeing as it is your main check to physical threats, although that is a little more debatable. If you make this change, be sure to run Siesmic Toss on Blissey, over Flamethrower, to combat Alakazam.

With these changes, this team is pretty solid as far as I can tell, it doesn't have much in the way to check some things like Kyurem-B and Cloyster though. You may want to consider changing Lucario for another sweeper, Keldeo can check them both for example. Terrakion or Garchomp might work if you are willing to check Cloyster with Skarmory.

anyway good luck man, if you need any more help, ask

Also, this is a bit lacking in descriptions, make sure you add some more sentences to Latias for example or else this thread may get locked.

Thank's so much for the advice bruh bruh. Made the changes. Just one question though.

-How would Latios be more beneficial as opposed to Latias? I'm going with Calm Mind btw.

Latios is much more powerful, trading Latias's defense for offense. If you choose a more offensive team structure here, it might have been something to consider.

Overall it was just an option, seeing the original Latias here was a more offensive set, and well Latios wasn't legal in gen 4, if you ever felt like you wanted a little more power for Latias... well Latios is there now.
