"Finally, at the end of a sizzle reel, a picture of a battle with graphics different to X & Y was showcased." - SMZ

Is this just promotional art or hint for a new game or something? I'm kinda confused to what it is.

Oh, no. They are attempting to genetically engineer real Pokemon

I never knew Blaziken to be popular after Infernape. I love it but I figured that was just me.
A lot of people just like Hoenn is the only reason I could think of. I really hope Ape gets a mega evolution too because damn I love him too much to see him go UU and unloved.

Also, this has no proof within X and Y, but I feel like postgame you'll have the option to get a starter from every region sort of what HG/SS did (they forgot Sinnoh though) and whatever starter(s) you pick have a mega stone with them so you can evolve them and stuff. I dunno it seems very reasonable. Now gimme my mega Infernape.

It may or may not be popular with the fans, but GF certainly loves their flaming chicken. It was one of the first gen 3 pokemon revealed for a reason.

So I'm not sure if people have already calculated Sylveon's stats (I know some of that went on a few months back), but 106 HP at level 30 is almost a 100% indicator of base 95 HP, assuming a 31 IV. It could also potentially be 110, but that would require a 0 IV and we already saw that Mewtwo has a 31 IV in HP in the demo.

News from Serebii: Litleo has the ability Unnerve, Helioptile has the ability Dry Skin and Sylveon has Cute Charm
That kinda sucks. I don't expect much from Litleo or Helioptile anyway but for Sylveon in particular who at least had a shot at being mildly decent, Cute Charm is unfortunate. Makes perfect sense for it flavor-wise though.

Dry skin is an odd ability for Helioptile. Isn't it meant to be a solar themed Pokemon? But with Dry Skin it can't even benefit from a sun team. How awkward.

I'll bet its secondary ability is something like Solar Power though, allowing it to utilise sun or rain teams.

But that's only one ability, and most pokes have two at least
That has really only been true since dream world came came into play. There are quite a few Pokémon that have just one abillity if you ignore dream world, if not most. And there's even some that have only 1 with Dream World included!

EDIT: I forgot that a lot of Pokémon gained second abilities since gen 3. So most probably do have a second.

I actually like the idea of Dry Skin on Helioptile. Rain + Thunder + Recovery sounds great, especially if it evolves into an Electric / Dragon type and ends up resisting Fire anyway.

Anyone gotten confirmation on this image? It was posted on Pokememes, but I'm not sure, it could be doctored. If not, we know what Sylveon's shiny form is.

Also, if the demo randomly generates the Pokemon for battle, then this person is infinitely luckier than me.

Battle against Sycamore, featuring Mewtwo.
So now everyone has a video of their time with the demo. Yay.
(I'm looking at this kids hand going "The game doesn't actually go by in double time when you abuse the A button, jerk".)

Dry Skin on Helioptile simply means that he's a great Thunder abuser. Hopefully he'll have great SpAtk in his final form so he'll get the most out of it.

I hope it gets some kind of good fighting move to go with that for Ferrothorn.

But I really like the idea of Dry Skin/Solar Panel. Helioptile would be suited for two almost exact opposite playstyles: defensive rain or offensive sun. It's a really good idea actually to go with that, and to have a move like Parabolic Charge that works either way. Either it stacks recovery with Dry Skin and Leftovers, or it offsets some of the Solar Power recoil. If this guy gets Weather Ball I will give it a standing ovation.

As cool as it is to theorize the Helioptile line having a defensive and offensive set, very few pokemon have the stats to pull that off. The few I can think of are Celebi, Latias, and Jirachi.
