(Latias is way too cute lmao)

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Psyshock
move 3: Hidden Power [Fire] / Surf
move 4: Healing Wish
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Levitate
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

· Easy to surprise or lure your opponent.

· Finds its place especially well in teams based around the spam of Dragon-type pokemon, cooperating two-hit combos with special dragons and picking off with weakened opposing dragon types that have set up.

· While it might seem outclassed by latios, due to the power comparison, latias will almost always be used as a revenge killer, but the main bump of it is in a niche move: healing wish, which gives partners one more sweeping opportunity, often unexpected for the opponent.

· The moves are self-explanatory, Draco Meteor, while weaker than her brothers’, still hits almost every non-special wall or Steel type like a truck.

· Psyshock is a move dedicated to every Fighting-type, and also gets points for KOing All-Out Attacker Keldeo if it hits Icy Wind on the switch, albeit with a bit of prior damage.

· The choice between Surf and HP Fire is entirely up to what weather you are weaker the most, or what weather you are using yourself. Surf hits much harder in the ever-present rain and picks off on Heatran, as well as Landorus-T if you just dont want to be locked into Surf, on the other hand, HP Fire is a middle finger to scizor and quite some Steel-types.

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

· The EVs are self-explanatory as well, there’s no reason for bulk to be invested seeing as how Recover wont be used, so durability isn’t this Latias best selling points.

· Trick, while extremely useful at crippling opposing walls (and even sweepers!), should not be used due to Healing Wish being this set’s most unexpected and arguable best selling point.

· Dragon Pulse could be considered due to its sweeping abilities, if not for latias’ weakness for the standards, Draco Meteor is often the better choice to just outright weaken as much as you can opposing walls.

· Grass Knot is the final move to be considered since it scores a clean 2HKO on scarf tyranitar after rocks damage, a common switch-in to her; it also has nice chance of a 2HKO on the banded variant.

· As mentioned various times, all kinds of offensive dragon-types appreciate Scarf Latias’ company to pick off on other dragons, weaken walls, and lure in for a set up opportunity with healing wish.

· Latios gets a special mention, since they share typing and movepools, they can create a one-two hit combo for a specs variant of latos to cause havoc on the opposing team.

· While there is another common scarf user on DragSpam teams, namely Jirachi, who shares Healing wish, but has a niche U-turn and Ice Punch, Latias gets a mention for outright stopping any keldeo and garchomp variant whom can cause massive problems if played correctly.

Not QC, but I think that this set should be like this:

[SET]
name: Choice Scarf
move 1: Draco Meteor
move 2: Psyshock
move 3: Surf / Hidden Power Fire / Trick
move 4: Healing Wish
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Levitate
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Being weaker than Latios, Latias can resort to using Trick to cripple opposing walls and common switch-ins like Ferrothorn and Jellicent, which it otherwise cannot do (Hidden Power Fire does pitiful damage to Ferrothorn in the rain). I think it's definitely an inferior option to Surf and Hidden Power Fire, but one that should definitely be considered (I used both Trick and Healing Wish on a Scarf Latias in a Toxicroak team I made with Gary2346 to decent success). Additionally, I think that you shouldn't be so quick to write off Latias's bulk. I would say that's one of the main reasons to use it over Scarf Latios (along with Healing Wish). Latias has a better matchup against rain and sun do to the added bulk. For example, Scarf Latias will always live a +2 Sludge Bomb from Venusaur without Stealth Rock on the field, and has a significant chance to OHKO with Psyshock after LO recoil (guaranteed after Stealth Rock, but I didn't think it was fair to have it on one side and not the other). Regardless, I would definitely mention that Scarf Latias's bulk is a significant reason to use it over Latios.

Make Healing Wish the second move on the set.

Drop the mention of Dragon Pulse in AC.

My opinion is that this is a waste of a Latias, but at least do these things.

I would never run Choice Scarf Latias honestly. If you're doing it for Healing Wish, Jirachi is probably better for that. If you're doing it for the revenge killing, Latios is probably better for that. If you're doing it for the surprise value, then I reject this set. Latias's other sets are far, far superior in my opinion.

I pretty much agree with all of this. We did reject this set before, and it was for pretty much the exact same reasons. I really don't think Healing Wish really gives Latias enough as a Scarfer to mitigate its loss of power in which Latios brings.

QC REJECTED 1/3

Actually, Choice Scarf Latias is suppose to function more as an offensive pivot, checking Water-types such as Keldeo while also revenge killing threats such as Garchomp at the same time. Its main advantage over Jirachi as an offensive Choice Scarf Pivot is its resistance to Water- and Fire-type attack, allowing it to check rain and sun teams.

Why not just use Recover Latias if you want a sun/rain check on offensive teams? It's far more reliable and it still revenge kills a handful of non-Choice Scarf Pokemon. You're wasting Latias's potential by Choice Scarfing it because it executes its other roles far more effectively and there are better Choice Scarf revenge killers to consider. I'd still use Latios as a Scarfer over Latias, even if Latias gets to use Healing Wish.

Unless convinced otherwise, consider this as QC reject 2/3.
