Where's the daycare?
SA: Pretty early, it’s before even the second badge.
On new Pokemon and variety
SA: I'm kinda disappointed with the lack of new Pokemon throughout the basic progression of the game (and a lot of the ones I've encountered are lame: i.e. Carbink) but if you can get over that there's no reason to prefer the older gens over this one. The quality of life features are the best in the series. Based on what I've seen so far, anyway. Maybe the postgame will turn out to be not great but I have no way of knowing that yet.
One nice thing is that there's a huge variety of Pokemon to catch as you go. There's no Zubat or Geodude-like droughts to be had at all. I have never been hard up for type coverage (except a weird lack of Ground types early on) and any two random players are certain to have wildly varying team choices. Unless you want to use nothing but new Pokemon in which case you'd be pretty shoehorned.
....
Oh yeah, I guess I should mention that despite the apparent lack of new Pokemon, Mega Evolutions are still dope and exciting! Too bad I picked Venusaur...”
Friend characters
SA: Yeah, they don't leave you alone. Story-wise you're actually travelling as a group. You fight your rival (ie the person who took your starter's weakness) all the time.
Pokedex Habitat List
SA: I can't seem to find it. I didn't play BW2 so I'm not sure how it used to work.
Mega Stones
SA: I've only ever got them from NPCs. Venusaurite et. al come with your Kanto starter, Lucarionite comes as part of the story, and I had to go out of my way for Ampharosite.
...
Also a guy there offered to sell me Charizardite Y for 500k pokebucks... do you not get it if you chose Charmander as your Kanto starter?
Pangoro
SA: I hate to relegate him to the task, but Pangoro is a good HM slave. Surf, Rock Smash, Strength, and Cut.
Is that a Grass gym and does it include the vine swinging?
SA: Yeah it was about vine swingin’
Camera during battles
SA: It randomly cycles through a bunch of preset cinematic pans and zooms. It's made taking pictures a bit of a pain, heh.

Does a Mega stay Mega when it switches in?
SA: Yeah. Further, there is no way to de-Mega Evolve.
What's the music and 1:04? and New Pokemon
SA: Gym leader battles...I just had a new Pokemon name mentioned to me by an NPC but I haven't seen it yet: Sliggoo”
Doublade
SA: Heh, Doublade learns Power Trick. How about that Defense now?
Evolution Stones
SA: Someone asked earlier if you could buy evolution stones. There is a store in Lumiose City that sells Fire, Leaf and Water Stones, at least.
Gym Leader Teams
SA: Uh, wow. I'm searching my brain but I really can't remember. Here are some unhelpful answers?
3rd gym: Fighting types, Hawlucha was in there I think.
4th gym: Grass types, Weepinbell for sure. I forgot the others...
5th gym: Literally just did this one. Emolga, Magneton, Heliolisk.”
MegaAerodactyl
SA: Very early, before second badge. I think. You need Rock Smash, but the area it's in is definitely pre-second badge.

Found: Last room of Glittering Cave, the Old Amber is found in a rock that can be Rock Smashed. Return it to Ambrette Town to restore the Fossil, then one of the scientists in the lab will give you an Aerodactylite.
...
Note that you can't Mega Evolve until after the third badge.
Flying Press
SA: And I tested Flying Press on a pure Rock-type (Nosepass). It was neutrally effective.
Mega Evolution and the Game
SA: This game has been really piss-easy so far even ignoring Mega Evolution.” “Nope. The animation takes a while though so I don't always do it.
Exp. Share:
SA: Playing with it on? Yes.
Leveling newly caught Pokemon? Pretty damn easy with the new exp. share!
