Pokémon Dragalge (HA confirmed to be Adaptability)

Get a female Dragalge and breed it with a male Pokemon with a Hidden Ability. If any hatched Skrelp have Adaptability, post a screenshot and it's confirmed. If you hatch a lot and don't get it, say so and it should be debunked.

At least, if I'm understanding the new breeding mechanics right.

I have the former, got a hidden squirtle or anything?

That won't work apparently :s. Both parents need to be in at least the same evolutionary line (or one has to be a ditto) for the hidden ability to pass on to the child :/, so breeding it with say a squirtle wouldn't yield any hidden ability eggs.

EDIT: If Dragalge does end up getting Adaptability i'd be pretty happy though, 260 BP Draco Meteors sound absolutely terrifying, especially with Adaptability Sludge Bomb to smack any fairies on the switch.

Friend of mine says Dragalge's hidden ability is adaptability.

I think this opens up tons of possibilities as a Choice Specs wall breaker or choice scarf revenge killer.

Okay I asked him how he got it, he said he traced it off of a dragalge in the battle institute.

This answer is kinda iffy so you guys might not want to 100% confirm it, but I believe him.

I've been running Adaptability, Toxic, Venoshock because 240 BP with the 2x STAB is disgusting. I don't think he will end up UU but playing with him on showdown makes me want to trade in X and get Y :P

Breeding w/ imposter or what? I was told you cant get a skrelp safari

I think almost any pokemon species (at least one evolutionary chain) is availible on safari, just some have not been found and released on the internet yet.

Should I go back and re-read the rules. I was using showdown. And besides I was thinking of a different Toxic Venoshock I run in UU. Serebii says that Dragalage gets Venoshock but its not in showdown yet.

But Showdown says that its got adaptability so some one somewhere must have confirmed it (or its just another case of spinning ninjas :P)

We need screenshot proof or else he's just another spinning ninja/shell smashing lobster.

It would be cool if there's any confirmation on its HA being Adaptability, otherwise I feel like this whole thing sounds a bit of a waste. For now I'll hold off trying to catch Skrelp and training it.

My Dragalge set is (going to be) this:

Dragalge (#KELPIXOLO#) @ Black Sludge
Modest | 230 HP / 252 SAtk / 20 SDef / 8 Spd
Poison Point
- Venoshock
- Scald
- Dragon Pulse
- Protect

Read Before Hating!

This set is for my Mono-Poison Type Team. The Black Sludge can't harm any of my other team members, but could harm the opponent. Modest is for great attacking skills, followed by 252 Special Attack EVs. The 20 Special Defence EVs is a bad choice, but my reason is because... Because I can brag in front of mah friendz? :3
8 Speed is to slightly out-speed other Dragalge if I ever come across one. I chose Poison Point over Poison Touch because Dragalge won't be using its Attack Stat any time soon. Poison Point will give me a chance to Venoshock any attackers left not Poisoned (Garbodor is my spinner which sets up Toxic Spikes). Scald is to lower my enemy's Attack Stat by a possible burn which also helps Dragalge's Defence Stat. My other reason for Scald is because of my Gengar which could destroy burned opponents with Hex. Dragon Pulse is for extra Dragon STAB that Dragalge's Poison Type team mates won't get much of an opportunity to perform. Protect is mainly for me, as I know little about competitive threats and I want/need to know what move they're going to use next. It can also be used to restore some of that Bulky HP Dragalge has.

Any criticism? Thanks! :D

EDIT: For confirmation on Dragalge's Adaptibility, we could try using the Ability Capsule. If any of you have one, could I use it on my precious Dragalge? :D

It doesnt work with hidden abilities.

I like the idea behind this Pokemon (I haven't used one, but I can see how it plays). I like the typing, definitely the anti-fairy dragon, so to speak, but it's such a shame that its stats are lackluster. I think it will still have uses. It definitely has potential, but I have a feeling it won't rise above RU/UU.

I'll definitely give Dragalge a shot when the XY metagame starts.

Adaptability is not available yet. But it IS his hidden ability (serebii must have seen it on battle maison so he put it on his website, but didn't find any skrelp on friend safari yet so that's why he removed it).

Also since skrelp is a version exclusive, if he is in the friend safari, he must be really rare (apparently swirlix can be found on Y safaris so it's possible).

All hail the one of the great disappointments of Gen VI!

No thats too harsh....but if his stats didnt suck hed be much better. EVEN Goodra who also had massive Spdef is overall better than this guy. His typing is good but wow stats just made it a joke. The best i can see this guy doing is being a spdef wall in RU (which itll do very well) or with Adaptability possibly Sub 3attacks

Today i've breeded around 25 eggs with a female skrelp and Imposter ditto, no luck. Then i decided to reread the perfect breeding guide on smogon. ''Note, pairing an Imposter Ditto with a non-hidden ability Pokemon will NOT generate a child with a hidden ability.''

I have always wanted a poison/dragon Pokemon (granted I was hoping it'd be based off of the Komodo dragon and was stuck with algae but whatever).

While gamefreak took the Pokemon I have always dreamed of in a different direction I think this still has potential. Wether or not it has any use in OU is to be seen and probably depends on if he actually gets adaptability so I will hold off on stating exactly how useful he is. He definitely still has potential and good sp. def and decent enough sp. atk, it's just his speed. Why troll freak make a slender looking dragon so slow...
